  1. I am painting my way through the core set of bones3 He was in the original 30 I cannot identify him more than that. I cant find him on figure finder, and I have no idea how reaper would classify either his weapon or his armor. a mace/polearm? robes with brigadine? He is listed on an old spreadsheet as "Sorcerer" Wut? needless to say, he is not under "Sorcerer" in on the reaper web site.
  2. Trying to get back into painting and out of my comfort zone, here is Silverhorn: Nothing wild really, but it was a good exercise in painting up from gray to white. Not perfect but he turned out much better than anticipated, so I’m calling this one a win.
  3. I painted this up quickly several months back, to swell the ranks of water elementals. It was translucent blue, but I painted it opaque. I feel I have more control that way, and don't have the spiffy inks everyone says work so well on the translucent BONES minis. C&C Welcome.
  4. I have been working on my contrast while painting- I love this sculpt! This was shot with 2 different lighting setups- which one does everyone prefer?
  5. just wishing to put this out there, but what are the chances of warlord coming back, hopefully with the success of bones reaper can really hammer our full fledged army boxes. i only ask this as warlord was my very FIRST miniatures game and heck it was the first miniatures i ever bought and wish to see it again even if its just bones army sets or something. maybe even a third edition possibly. i mean am i alone in wanting warlord back?
  6. I had a good time painting this one. hope you like.
  7. I painted this large water elemental several months back to fill a gap in my water elemental supply. It started out translucent blue, but I painted it opaque. I haven't tried inking the transulcents like others have, I lack the inks, and feel I get good control with opaques. I wanted a simple beach sand looking base, to suggest he has washed up on the beach to harass sunbathers. C&C Welcome.
  8. Here are another pair of Giant Centipedes. I have 6 total of these, and these are the 4th and 5th to receive paint. Simple, bright green with some red eyes and antennae for contrast. C&C welcome.
  9. Last new post for the day. Here is another BONES Tick. I have 2 more and a queen. This is the 4th painted one, and I painted it while I painted the centipedes. I wanted some bright colors and bright markings. C&C Welcome.
  10. Finished this figure over the weekend. Some parts I like quite a lot, but the blending is a bit weak and the casting of the left side of the face is poor. I like the sculpt a lot, and I've put the metal version (03547) into my wishlist for my next order. I think it might make a very nice piece to spend more time on.
  11. I painted this dude up as my technomancer for our Starfinder campaign. The idea is his coat is very tech-ey. I used a Bones Chronoscope miniature and modded in some antenna. Also slightly purple skin, cause this is a Lashunta.
  12. Finished this figure over the weekend. Painted to a moderately high tabletop standard*, trying for an interesting color scheme that is new to me. * Except for the eyes, which are very weak.
  13. Clothes inspired by fox hunters. My painted writting on the scroll is rubish, notice you cant see it in these pictures. It is very hard to reach the scroll from behind, or around the curls. It is my third figure from the Dreadmere expansion, grabbed randomly from the "This looks fun to paint" group from that expansion. found the metal version - I need to make some fixes on this one.
  14. Painted up another bad guy for my players to encounter! Used contrast paints and light drybrushing on the stone Added the chompy goo-gore with glossy red
  15. While I still need to do his base, I finished of this pretty boy.
  16. Saw this figure in my LGS a while back, decided to buy it, and now I'm using it as my new DnD character. He was quite intriguing to paint. I really enjoyed this one. I used Citadel paints for it. I also gave it a spray undercoat first, I do with all minis even ones that are already primed, too much of a habit now.
  17. I know a lot of you use airbrushes on your bones, but my question is how well does the liner method work? I figure it would have to be thinned, but does using airbrush thinner get around the hydrophobic tendencies of bones? What ratio do you use? As always thanks in advance for your help!
  18. I don’t have the lot number yet. Also, this is my first post so guidance on posting conventions is welcome. The Bones 4 haul was extraordinary! Edit: sized down. I’ll figure out how to get down to 150 kB later.
  19. Been working on this off and on since RCon. I originally intended to enter it for my Ed Sculpt, but ran out of time. Instead I focused on trying to get a decent fast paint job. I'd guess I'm at about 6 hours total over 4 or 5 days. Sorry I didn't take many process pics. The next step is basing. I have a few ideas, but I'm trying to let them gel a bit.
  20. Here's my final batch of new painted figures. Bones Giant Centipedes. A staple encounter for low-level adventurers. Still inspired by Reign of Winter. Sadly, Mr. Red got into the snow of Mr. Blue's base! Enjoy. C&C Welcome.
  21. Simple conversion painted to tabletop quality for the big bad for my D&D group.
  22. My first time posting to this forum, please let me know if I misstep :p Reaper Bones Black: 44002 Rock Troll I added a more rocky base using rock and some plastic crystals carved from leftover plastic sprue. Also added some more crystals to his elbows and side. The elbows were just because I thought it would make it look more menacing but the one on his side was because of a huge hole leftover from the moulding process. To take care of assembly lines I used some of the rock I cracked apart for the base. I still have the belt and pouch to do, along with the b

  24. So the reason I had spare blackstar rifles was that I decided a proper pirate captain needs a sword. So I built this guy with the bones 3 weapon pack, and the spare head off of the bones 4 bulldog armor. His sword has much fire, and his reactor a distressing blue glow.
