  1. The dire crocodile, dire boar, and dire crab were one of the Bones 4 addons, and it doesn't look like they've hit retail just yet. Which is a shame, because we need more giant crabs. The mud on the dire crocodile's base is just some water effect goo dribbled on that half of the base. The barnacles attached to the rocks on the dire crab's base were sculpted with green stuff. The rocks... those are just rocks.
  2. I'm looking for something to stick Bones, specifically Ma'al Drakar's terrain, to a wooden base. It's not thick enough, at the area I want to place it, to pin effectively. What kind of adhesives would work? I'm thinking epoxy, maybe? I just /really/ don't want to melt it accidentally and have to buy a new one.
  3. I just like the way the blue/black wings look. - I did the same with the Librarian Sophie. (last month) I really need to paint up one of the metal versions for contrast. I'm not sure what she is serving - Meat, bread and salad is the way I painted it, but that could be cake instead.
  4. Been wanting to paint this one for awhile. Love the dynamic pose! Really happy with this one.
  5. Look at that winning smile! He wants you to come for dinner.... Reaper Bones Burrowing Horror (SKU 77372) I am sad to see the paint has rubbed off in some places, might have to try to patch that up by using some Reaper liner.
  6. This was a quick speed paint, less than an hour. And I think the Night Spectre (Reaper Bones SKU 77099) turned out looking awesome for the amount of effort put in.
  7. Some basic tabletop paint jobs on Goldar the Barbarian (Reaper Bones 77047) and Dub Bullock (Reaper Bones 77027). Their faces where pretty mangled, so I didnt want to spend a lot of time on them. I had painted Goldar earlier, and on that one the face was fine. SO I think I was unlucky on the above Goldar:
  8. I mostly modelled this off Michael Proctor's paint job, and used it as an exercise in learning to push contrast and glaze unlike colours. The photos make the colours seem to little more vibrant than they are in real life. Overall very pleased with the result!
  9. These two were mostly done a while ago (along with their buddy Darkrasp). It's just taken me a while to work up the courage to paint the scroll and spellbook and get them off my shelf of shame!

    Bones Looters

Finished a group of 6 'looters', think they are all from Dreadmere. Happy with em! Very expressive faces and the Bones black is a lot easier to paint then basic bones. Better detail, sharper, etc.
  11. I previously posted a show-off thread for the male lion in this pair, but I wound up stripping him and repainting him after mistakenly ruining him when doing touch-ups/sealing. So here they both are! C&C welcome.
  12. My goal here was to push myself to go as fast as possible. Start to finish it took approx. 2.5 hours, which is definitely a record for me. Contrary to my usual practice, I painted the integral base; when I do get around to doing a proper base, I will likely integrate it into the display. C&C welcome.
  13. This is my first show-off thread of a smaller mini—my other ones have been D&D large size. I feel there's a lot of room for improvement, but I'm quite happy with this one, especially the eyes. C&C welcome.

    Patchwork Gang

Wanted to use all (most) the colors on my wet palette before I cleaned it... and decided to tackle the Patchwork Gang.
  15. My Werebear was the 4th mini I've painted after a 3 year hiatus; this winter wolf is the 2nd. C&C welcome.
  16. With the tubes carrying fluid, it gave me a reason to try my new colorshift paint from TurboDork that someone on the boards recommended. Seems to work well. It is only a small area, but maybe you can tell in the pics. (3D Glasses is the color).
  17. More Large Mini work... this guy could/should have been on Medium base, but he seemed better suited on a Large.
  18. Ratman.... or maybe Wererat.
  19. More April work on Large minis...
  20. Putting my pictures up from April painting. Tried to put some more flock/base work before taking pictures... to liven things up a bit on these large size minis.
  21. This is maybe the 20th mini that I've ever painted, and my 4th mini after a 3 year hiatus. Staring at the close-up pictures is tough, because I see so many things I can improve. Nonetheless, I'm fairly proud of this one!
