  1. Hello! Someone had mentioned what to do with new minis and any Ideas for adventures and such. Great Idea! Here it is! I am writing an adventure where the BBEG is a gnome alchemist. Escapes early on, creates the mechanical APE to punish the heroes, and then he finishes up with the creation of a clockwork dragon to do them in. May add more to it depending on what else we get :)
  2. what kind of glue has been used on bones, and what are the results? bones to bases? bones to bones? for conversions and the like... I have a feeling Ill be doing a LOT of conversions :)
  3. Hi all, At Origins this year, I interviewed Johnny, one of the Reaper Booth Babes, about Reaper's new Bones models. We tested their durability and Johnny answered some questions about the future of the line. In the near future, I plan on painting up a Bones Ghost to see how well it takes paint.
  4. These two miniatures were speed painted, about 30 minutes total brush time each, then simply glued to a 50mm base and flocked. Its not awesome work, but its fast and effective enough on the game table.
  5. These kobolds were speed painted (no more than 20 minutes per figure) and turned out ok for game table use. There is nothing fancy about them, its all about the practicality of getting 12 minis painted as quickly as possible.
  6. So I was forced to start/stop work on this miniature over the course of around 5-6 days and I just felt like I lost my "flow". My blending definitely tapered off as the interruptions piled up. I'm still thrilled with the quality of the Bones line and am very excited to paint up some of the new Bones minis I just bought. When I based him, I opted to add a rock pile with my DM internal monologue going something like this, "Long ago the ogre Grunnach learned that strategically placing rock piles throughout his territory allowed him to soften up targets at a distance as part of an ambush. This
  7. Painted this miniature yesterday afternoon. I wanted to make this ghost a truly ferocious looking fellow so I added a bunch of green necrotic glow as though the inside of the 'gown' is radiating the energy. The sculpt features some vertebral bumps along the back, so I opted to do some necrotic glow there and wash it dark gray to make it appear to be glowing from within. I've never tried that before, so as always, it's a learning experience. As with the Bones Troll I just painted, I noticed absolutely zero difference in painting quality between the Bones line and the traditional metal m
  8. I took these with me to Cold Wars and they went over pretty well. It is cool to have models just ready to go for P&T. I also tested them out in the speed painting, but didn't get to use the skellies for my class like I would have liked to - since I was scheduled to paint 15mm. From playing with them - it seems like the initial coat of paint doesn't stick great right away, but once it is on they are great. I think perhaps prep work of just soaking them in soapy water and letting them dry may be in order, but really - compared to pulling flash off, washing and priming - this is so
