Another from Bombshell! Logging is a dangerous occupation. Lots of falling trees, sharp blades, bad weather...these are all part of the job. But there are OTHER hazards, too. Take care where you lay your axe--some areas of the forest are Off Limits. Spend long enough harvesting and culling and the local spirits learn how to do it too. Hopefully they have learned sustainable forestry rather than clear-cutting. (Group shot includes a Saproling, familiar, Spirit of the Forest, and Swamp Shambler.)

I've been having fun lately painting base discs up as planets and moons. Hard to have too many of those for space pulp backdrops. Also! here's Princess Auriate, from Bombshell's Babes line. The elaborate headdress and boots, plus the saber, make her a perfect fit with her imperial sisters Azeemah and Khoshta. Turnaround, but not in great focus, sorry. Here are the sisters together: An Imperial Princess lives a life of extreme luxury, but not one of ease. She must be prepared to prove her superiority over any subordinate humanoid (trivial) or savage beast (depends on the beast). This is a challenge: a poisonous Desert Worm. It's also venomous! Noblesse oblige! Couple of bonus shots:

BABES III September on Kickstarter by Bombshell Miniatures Bombshell Miniatures is very excited to announce Babes III coming to Kickstarter September 19th 2016. We have made special arrangements with artist Chris Walton to reproduce a selection of his fantastic designs for fantasy women. In addition to these, we have several existing designs in the Bombshell archives that may also be produced if we exceed our funding goal. Sculpts are in the works now and over the next several weeks we will be posting progress pictures of them. BOMBSHELL BABES 2!!![/center] About this project The Babesâ„¢ are back!We bring you a whole new set of fantastic female character models suitable for use with all manner of tabletop Wargames and RPGs! Although we're using a term like "Babes" to describe the line, these characters are much more than a label. The concept is something retro and nostalgic that is intended to evoke images of famous paintings like J. Howard Miller's "We Can Do It" and Rockwell's "Rosie the Riveter". Why return to Kickstarter? We have all of the models shown ready to go into production, but molding and mastering, and casting runs are expensive. It would take longer for us to raise the funds to put these models into production over time than if we ask for funds to make a collection of them at one time. We want to get these models out to you as soon as possible, and Kickstarter can make that possible. This funding campaign will be a shorter two-week run so save your pennies and get ready for the finale at 10:00 PM CDT Friday, September 28th. THE BABESâ„¢ We have a fantastic list of classic character archetypes as well as new characters from many popular genres including Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Steampunk, Weird War, Pulp and more for the core set as well as numerous stretch goals. Care is taken to size the figures so they are compatible with other models from the most popular manufacturers within the 30mm range of heroic sizes. Babesâ„¢ are cast in the finest lead-free pewter to assure as much of the detail of the original sculpt is preserved. All models are supplied unpainted and some assembly may be required. I painted up the Barbarian Babe sculpted by Patrick Keith. I was thinking of the snows of Cimeria while painting this one. We saw him hawking the babes on the floor at GenCon. Unfortunately I lost the tassle on her sword somewhere along the way. I also picked up some of the lovely Impact Miniatures line while at GenCon. I was really disappointed with the quality control. After I got home I found the minis were pretty poorly cast. This was the best of the lot. The only visible problem left on this one is tip of one of the shoulder pads is just completely missing. You might be able to see how bad the hour glass is if you look closely. Some of the other pieces were quite a bit worse. I will post pics later. I'm still trying to repair it. I thought the line of chibi figures from the old animated series "Dungeons and Dragons" were a terrific idea but I think I will pass now. Last of all here's Bob Ridolphi's wonderful Succubus sculpt. I am really happy with this piece. Bob is a great guy and a terrific sculptor.

So here is Bombshell Minis' Cave Girl, as inspired by Shanna the She-Devil, an old Marvel character recently resurrected for Savage Wolverine. No, I haven't completely gone off my anti-basing rocker. Yet. I have a cool idea to make a small scene with her...but it'll have to wait a few months. So I figure I'd rather put here here in Show Off for folks to get inspired to paint some of the Babes up. She was a pretty quick paint for me, about 6 1/2 hours, 1 1/2 of which were on the eyes. Just wanted something to shake off the rust from my brief hiatus. Hope you enjoy it! WIP here
