  1. Blightfang in the Meadow - inspired by the children's book "A Lion In The Meadow." See the WIP here. A VERY brief altered retelling And now for the mini (Blightfang chases its tail): And some close ups to show the details and the flock (first time and I'm pretty proud of the results).
  2. This is a really early placeholder, because I have inspiration pictures, and who knows if the book will be lost when I'm ready. I need to find my dragon. I'm also inspired by (I think it was @Corporea 's chibi coco lion?) Would love any tips for preparation and how to deal with scales with my chosen pattern (paisley).
  3. My DM (and boyfriend) wanted this guy to be a white dragon...I obliged. Biggest project I’ve worked on so far and the only “white” project I’ve worked on so far. Love how he came out. I might base him at some point, but I was happy enough to bring him outside in the real snow for a photo shoot to start. I dont know when or why we will we will face this dragon... but either way- I’m frightened...
  4. So I started Blightfang, but my wife decide to fix my mistakes with colors and blending
  5. So, I got ambitious again and decided to try my hand at a second dragon (and a third since I scored DDS for a steal online the other week). I've got Blightfang all painted with a basecoat and the first set of color, then forgot where I was with her and started gluing things together.. After affixing her to her rock, I found a small issue that my pre-paint fitting didn't show; namely, that the front rock sits 1/4" off the ground when the main rock is flat.. Now, I've not done any custom basing to this point, so I'm completely clueless as to the best way to 'fix' this issue. Should I find a pebble in the garden and glue that sucker under the front rock? Weight the back so that the front just sits in the air? Carefully attempt to slice off the rock and do a complete custom jobbie? Note - this (as with all my other current projects) is destined primarily for table-top use - we start HotDQ in a week or two.
  6. a couple of table top dragons, nothing fancy just trying to clear my big box of minis, so I can buy more. I am hoping to put Ebonwrath on stone pillars in the middle of a swamp setting. like he/she? is standing on a collapsed bridge drooling acid into the water. c&c welcomed
  7. Painting up blightfang for a friend. She'll be a red dragon This is basecoated
  8. /dusts off brushes I haven't been around much, mostly due to personal reasons and work and responsibilities and and being an adult BUT I've finally finished something. (For once) That and CMON is coming up and I realized I hadn't painted a single thing. Typically ReaperCon was the rush to get things finished but without it being in April (Sobs uncontrollably) it has increased my procrastination status ten fold! So finally, here she is, as finished as I'll get her at my current painting skills. I could probably list things that are like "OMG lets go over that again! Or that again", but then I'd never be able to show her off o_o.
  9. This one took a while WIP but I wanted to finish it up by the end of the year. I wasn't sure about the eyes at first, but then I started dropping hints about it in my RPG, and now she is showing up as a sleeping guardian in my next game (tomorrow) The base is my most elaborate to date, and my first experience with water effects. The ripples came from a divot I made in the surface that I filled, and then was inspired to change into ripples, with a leaf in the center.
  10. So I started Blightfang Last Saturday (11-22) First I did some test color patterns. Then I went to paint day CMPA and did the tail another day to finish it, adding some red shadow paint for shadows, and glazing with it on the underside. unfortunately I had the angle wrong and will have to redo this tail. again trying different patterns: So I liked the eyes best, but figured that the eyespots on the wings would be more useful as a distraction if they didn't pinpoint the dragons actual location . Started moving forward with a pair of eyes on each wing flap. But I am not thrilled with results, and may go back to an earlier pattern. The body is currently painted up to a mid-tone, with scattered highlights, wings are still rough. More Later - pictures still on camera.
  11. I just finished painting and basing my first true dragon miniature, Blightfang. I painted him over the weekend and did most of the base then too, but added a couple of touches to the base tonight so I could post him. I am happy with how he turned out, though I think I could still do more with the base, now that I see the photos.
  12. My Bones II package arrived a couple days ago. Limited funds means I didn't get everything. Of what I got, however, she is definitely the highlight. She comes with her left front leg bent a little too far inwards: A dip in boiling water fixes that up: Paint test with MSP Sapphire Blue and Vallejo Electric Blue:
  13. WIP: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/59697-77323-blightfang-blue/ Finished! I was going for a tropical feel to her =P I also painted up one of the dragon hatchlings (technically the red one, but i painted him blue) for her.
  14. So I'm going to start my Blightfang soon She's going to be a blue water dragon XP So I put her on a Secret Weapon base that has coral like protrusions. I plan to greenstuff in coral and rocks similar to what i did to Coraldrax She does need a bit of greenstuff on some of her seams
