  1. Hello again, friends and neighbours! As you can see by the title, this dual work-in-progress thread is a bit different from the others we've done up until now, which have all been miniatures from Reaper's Dark Heaven line. We decided that since Dungeon Dwellers is an all-new relaunch, we could double up on our WIP threads so we could do some of these. The painted examples have been quite excellent, and the painting guides released as pdf files an absolutely fantastic idea, so our objective with these threads is to celebrate the new launch and help give a closer look at these new figures and
  2. Here's 01573, Mel the Chibi Bathalian (illithid), Exclusive 2015 Reaper Artist Conference Bonesylvanian Figure sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. This one was certainly one of the most challenging and fun Bonesylvanian I painted so far. I've read about their background story and knowing that illithids comes from outter space I decided to give it a little astal twist. I was greatly inspired by the amazing paint job on Antimatter Games DeepStar Kraken and added dots on its forehead.
  3. This is 77282: Vampire in Bones, sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. I painted him up for a game. There isn't a WIP thread.
  4. Hi everyone! Here is 01570, Betty the Chibi Ghost Bride, Special Edition Bonesylvanian Figure sculpted by Bob Ridolfi.
  5. Another older sculpt I wanted to knock out real quick, this was maybe three hours’ work (not counting stepping away to let paint dry, etc.). To be honest, it looked amazing when everything was just a basecoat, it’s the parts after that that throw me. Anyway, Sirithis (links for nudity): Front Back Still haven’t found a nipple color that works. The search continues. Comments and critiques welcome.
  6. 01571, Jake the Chibi Jason Voorhees, Special Edition Bonesylvanian Figure sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. The dead leaves are white birch tree seed shells.
  7. Reaper Miniatures 01568, Lou the Chibi Cthulhu Special Edition Bonesylvanian Figure sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. At 44mm tall, this is the biggest Bonesylvanian so far. I mounted it on a 50mm round base and painted it with acrylics. “We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far.” ― H.P. Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu
  8. Here's 01566, Barb the Fly. Special Edition Bonesylvanian Figure sculpted by Bob Ridolfi.
  9. 77337: Giant Scorpion (Bones Version) by Bob Ridolfi This poor guy was only half painted when he got used in a D&D Game, without a base. I'm very ashamed that I did that to him. But now he has a base and is much happier. If anyone asks, he is a special genetic mutant scorpion which has different colours on its two halves. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I definitely didn't get tired of shading him and dump on my shelf of shame, oh no, never. 40 projects left on my shelf of shame.
  10. Here's 01565, Barb the Zombie Cheerleader. She's a Special Edition Bonesylvanian Figure sculpted by Bob Ridolfi.
  11. 01546, Tut the Chibi Pharaoh, Special Edition Bonesylvanian Figure sculpted by Bob Ridolfi.
  12. 01556, Elsa the Chibi Bride of Frankenstein. Special Edition Bonesylvanian Figure for Valentines day 2015 sculpted by Bob Ridolfi.
  13. 01564, Max the Chibi Nosferatu. Special Edition Bonesylvanian Figure sculpted by Bob Ridolfi.
  14. 01555, Boris the Chibi Frankenstein. Special Edition Bonesylvanian Figure for Valentines day 2015 sculpted by Bob Ridolfi.
  15. This is one of those practice figures I had lying around, a Bones mini I didn't clean the flash off or prepare much, but was just painting for fun and practice while I was doing other things. (So I don't have a WIP, although I might be able to recreate one.) Then one of my GMs looked at it and said Yeah, that one, we'll need that. So I refined it up and finished it. This is a charmingly ludicrous female necromancer from the imagination of Bob Ridolfi. I painted her up with stark white skin -- oh, I can't remember why, originally, but now she is going to be u
  16. Here's my take on this cute little guy. I tried to do more glazes on him than the way I normally paint, and his eyes are violet, which I think came out ok. Wishing I'd been able to get the huge mold line off his head but oh well. He's still adorbs.
  17. My last thread today, not trying to be a spammer. Just for comparison to the base of the efreet I posted earlier. The base is super fragile. I made it using plaster, and I probably should have made it with epoxy or greenstuff. I'm also not super happy with the way her eyes and the gems on her head turned out. There is not enough contrast with her skin and hair. I probably should have made the gems bright yellow or amber and used pure white for her eyes. Geoff
  18. Kaladrax and the wand of death, turning those it slays into undead horrors. I modified this first edition of 10012, Kaladrax so that it looks like he's giving an order pointing its left index at an enemy or direction. I also converted the bones of the right hand and added a Wand of death in his closed fist. The Wand of death comes from Reaper's 10005, The Court of Abyst boxed set. On the base, I used natural rocks, Army Painter Wasteland Tuft and natural dry lichen as tumbleweed. 10012, Kaladrax the Dire Drake was sculpted by Jim Johnson. 21. 03815, Skeletal Halfling. Dark Heaven Legends model sculpted by Bob Ridolfi.
  22. 03820, Skeletal Minotaur. Dark Heaven Legends model sculpted by Bob Ridolfi.
  23. 01547, Cal the Chibi Skeleton sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. Special Edition Bonesylvanian Figure painted with double ambient light source, pale blue and orange.
  24. This little lady has been kicking around my desk for a while. She’s a really fun little figure and I’d been putting paint on her here and there and I finished her up tonight.
  25. So it's been forever and a day since I've painted a Reaper figure, and I've never painted a Chibiesque mini before. On Facebook though, my wife saw a painted version of this delightful little big headed mummy and told me how much she liked the figure so that got me to hunt it down and paint it for her. It was nice because being a face and rags, it really didn't take too long to do, I think from beginning of painting to end, not including the base was probably five hours. I went more green on his face than the greys I've seen in most of his renditions just for something a little bit differen
