  1. Hello everyone, late post tonight. Here are the 03233, Townsfolk Children and hens, delicate and diminutive models with the toddler and hens measuring only 8mm in height. Using Reaper MSP, I have painted these models in understated hues, capturing the playful essence of these quaint characters. These exquisite models were sculpted by Bobby Jackson for Reaper Miniatures. They will grace the diorama I am currently working on, adding a touch of liveliness and amusement to the overall scene.
  2. Hello fine fans of fantastic miniatures! So I can't tell you exactly when, but months back Dark Sword Miniatures put out this miniature, two hobbit scouts one standing on the other's shoulders sculpted by Bobby Jackson, an obvious homage to some old Grenadier halflings sculpted I believe by Andrew Chernak back in the early eighties. As soon as I saw this miniature I immediately thought that all fine fans of old school miniatures would be buying the new version and then painting them both up to happily compare the two. Well, until now I hadn't seen any such "explosion" of comparisons, so I figured maybe I just need to be the first. So here is the most recent Dark Sword version, sculpted by Mr. Jackson: and here is are the original hobbits, sculpted by Andrew Chernak back in maybe 1982 or so?: and here they are side by side: I tried to use as much as possible the same or similar color scheme in each version. The only thing that did happen is that there is a Dark Sword version of the hobbits scouts one on top of each other with two separate cloaks, but I accidentally grabbed the one with a single cloak only. anyhoos, enjoy this blast to the past and let me know what you think!
  3. Don't even think of getting inside with your dirty boots on. A minute later; you could have at least left your hoe outside. Someone’s gonna sleep in the dog's house tonight...
  4. Hi everyone, last night I completed this peasant with a hoe. I wanted to make him look old, so I painted his clothes to look worn and dirty. I also painted dark circles under his eyes, a sparse white mustache and a big wart on his jaw. Life in the field is tough. This is a Reaper Miniatures 02825, Townsfolk peasant with a hoe. It's a Dark Heaven Legends model that was sculpted by Bobby Jackson. He's also available in plastic version under sku: 77665. I painted him with Reaper MSP.
  5. Hi everyone, I just completed this lady with a broom from the 02825, Townsfolk V set. She was sculpted by Bobby Jackson and is also available in Bones version under sku: 77088. It's a pretty simple model, so I decided to go with a little freehand. I painted her eyes as if she was looking downwards. I think the expression on her face makes her look like she's mad because the floor is dirty or something like that (maybe there's a rat in the kitchen).
  6. Hello everyone, I completed a portal I wanted to do for a while. If I remember correctly, I received this model as a free item in one of my online orders. This is a 77640, Graveyard Entryway sculpted by Bobby Jackson. I added a transparent membrane and successive layers of Mod Podge tinted with MSP HD 29802, Brilliant red paint to create a bloody portal. Here, I illuminated the portal with a red LED to create this glowing effect. This image illustrates the gateway before I added the portal. And here, you can see work in progress of the ripples taking form as I apply successive layers of Mod Podge. In total, I applied eight coats on each side of the membrane.
  7. Hello everyone, here they are all together; 77349, Goblin Command sculpted by Ben Siens. 77444, Goblin Warriors sculpted by Bobby Jackson. 77445, Goblin Skirmishers sculpted by Bobby Jackson. With special guest 77704, Cave Troll sculpted by Bobby Jackson. I took the first four photos outdoors after improvising a background with stones and grass.
  8. Good day everyone, here's the last goblin from my warband. I did only a simple conversion on this one. I swapped its head with that of another goblin. The original 77445, Goblin skirmisher model was sculpted by Bobby Jackson. Loose!
  9. Hey everyone, here's my penultimate mischievous fellow. I swapped its head and weapon with those of other goblins. The original 77444, Goblin warrior models were was sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  10. Hey everyone, here's my second 77445, Goblin casualty marker. This original model was sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  11. The mischievous horde is on its way! This is 77444, Goblin Warrior with greatsword sculpted by Bobby Jackson. That be a scimitar I'd say. The base is 20mm.
  12. Hey everyone, here's another converted Goblin warrior. This one went under the hobby knife and will be used as a casualty marker. The original 77444, model was sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  13. Hey everyone, here's the third in the series of mischievous fellow I'm currently painting. This is the 77444, Goblin Warrior with halberd sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  14. Hey everyone, here's the second of my mischievous goblinoid. This one is the 77445, Goblin skirmisher with sword and shield sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  15. #144: AKA Shardra, Iconic Shaman, sculpted by Bobby Jackson. This one has some glaringly obvious print lines (or whatever those are) up the right side of her cape. I mean: And I even tried to hide them by using a dark colour on the cape and avoiding to highlight the area as much as I could. Still. Strike one for quality control there. Size does matter. Well. Scale does matter. At any rate, I will be doing something else than painting characters for a while as it has been a bit of an uninspired slog as of late. Pathfinder Iconics Bones 4 Core set, 2019 Reaper Miniatures Sculpted by Bobby Jackson Made in Bonesium PVC 30mm bases should be available from reapermini.com some time in the future in Bones, are currently available in Metal.
  16. Good day everyone, here's 77444, Goblin warrior with spear sculpted by Bobby Jackson. Since these goblins are sold with duplicates, I will convert the others by swapping their weapons. I will also paint the goblin command, shaman and leader.
  17. Hey everyone, the madness continues. Here's the 77445, Goblin skirmisher with shortbow sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  18. Happy holiday everyone, I hope you will all find some time to take a break today. Here's a converted Goblin skirmisher I completed last night. It's made out of 77445, Goblin skirmishers sculpted by Bobby Jackson. I swapped its weapon and shield with those of the other goblin. It was a lot of fun to work on. Have a great day!
  19. Hello everyone, here's another converted Goblin. This on is made out of 77444, Goblin warrior sculpted by Bobby Jackson. I swapped its weapon with that of another Goblin.
  20. Hey everyone, here's 03292, Almaran the Paladin sculpted by Bobby Jackson. This is the metal version, it's also available in Bones under SKU 77058 and chibi version sculpted by Gene Van Horne under SKU 77714.
  21. Hey everyone, it been some time since I posted. I managed to complete this one last night. 04006, Arik the "half-orc" barbarian sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  22. Finally managed to get her finished. She languished on my shelf of shame for at least a decade, partially painted. I'm pretty sure the first layer of skin tone went on her around 2010.
  23. Hello to all the Reaper ladies and gents out there! So I've finally gotten around to painting my first Bones USA miniature, Fillyjonk the Hellborn Rogue, and I must say it was quite a pleasurable experience. Lots of good detail, eyes and nose were very discernible, life was pretty good. The only issues I had were with getting rid of the mold lines, plastic flash reacts quite a bit different than metal flash and as I tried to get rid of the plastic flash, it would not completely separate itself from the mini, but kind of left a little string of plastic. But that's not such a big deal I guess ultimately. So here she is, first Hellborn figure I've painted as well, so a double debut of all things Reaper: Oops, think the closeup was a little large, but I'm too lazy to go shrink it down. Anyhoos, hope you all enjoy! I'm definitely a supporter of this Bones USA material, it was very nice! I wonder how much the oncoming Bones VI is going to be Bones Black, I'm hoping for most or all of it. I've done some Bones Black figures and the detail was decent, but this is quite a lot sharper.
  24. Hey everyone, here's Lanaerel Grayleaf the wood elf. This Dungeon Dwellers model was sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
