  1. Howdy, I guess it's time to show this one... Thanks for the feedback, Kev! P.S. The pattern is inspired by the natural coloration of the coral snake.
  2. Here is another semi WIP thread for another Bones 3 model. My youngest son had painted him in a nice coat of ultramarine blue and had left him. I then have the fun task of finishing it off to some reasonable level. So so after a couple of coats green and some dry brushing I got to this stage. I am actually really happy how this turned out. I am not sure I would have attempted the blue under the green, but it seems to work well. Anyway onto the base, didn't realise how much detail it had. As always comments welcome.
  3. Got the ogres and ogre command in Bones 3 and decided to paint them all up at once so that they'd match. I call the regular ogres Huey, Dewey, and Louie due to their colors (I find a clear color delineation makes it easier to track them during games) and I really like the floral pattern on the green bags, like he just scrounged them up from someone else. The command figures were fun, creating all the mismatched plates on the warrior. I decided that the ogre "sorceress" should be "hot" so I painted her up in a tartan mini skirt and semi transparent white shirt, as well as putting her "purse gob
  4. I got around to painting the Bones 3 Stoneskull expansion "Jungle Titan" a few months back, figured I'd post him up. I wasn't sure on color palette, but then I remembered he was referred to as a "Kaiju" during the KS, and decided to crib the colors from Pacific Rim (or "Awesome Dumb Robot Movie") for the palette, and I think it came out pretty well. His base includes the fallen pillar from Bones 77363 Deva and some clay.
  5. Cobra finished, liked the model alotta, so it moved up on the "to-do ladder". It's 90% airbrush, just started using one, so very happy with it. Base is from scibor
  6. Decided to do some Christmas red and green on this little scene I created! Practiced some blood and gore, still not thrilled with the blood and gore. Just a rough/quick paintjob. The victim is actually a Bones 1 zombie. I cut the arm off and his waist and then used copper wire to simulate intestines. I then used green stuff to make some gore. and I used the drilled out coils of Bones plastic as well!!!! Hope you like!
  7. Finished these guys on the 22nd, just getting around to posting them on here. From Bones 3: stoneskull expansion. Guessing this set isn't out in their releases of Bones currently. I'm just calling them mercenaries, but very good for bandits or thugs as well.
  8. I know these are from Bones 3 just not sure what they are called. Anyway it's got perf in it and I know people like seeing him in my pics. Come to think of it he is not a great for scale figure as he is definitely at little bit larger than standard 28mm. Oh well .
  9. Nice Figure. Don't know if I would pickup another though.
  10. The following images depict a miniature of a female sylph or fairy in natura. I am not sure if these would be in conflict with the posting guidelines or not. Better safe than sorry. First picture Second picture Third picture Clear minis are best painted by undercoating with a matte clear varnish and then transparent paints such as inks. This mini has wings in vallejo pale grey wash before citadel carroburg crimson wet blended on drucii violet. Body in thinned old citadel turquoise glaze, hair and panties in army painter green ink. The
  11. I have finished my graveyard. I added custom elements to the set in order to have a nice diorama and set the scene in autumn. I have also added a Gargoyle but i need a second one for the other pillar.
  12. Thanks for taking a look! Any advice/comments/criticism is welcome! Hi all, I've recently started painting some of my minis (finally) and also got some friends to help. Below I'll show everything thats been done so far, before likely making a showoff thread for the done done ones (some are aaalmost there, need a few more touches. My Work: (2nd mini ever): 77503 Temple Dragon : - I wanted to do some complimentary color on him but couldn't quite decide where. First thought was underbelly and underside of wings, but glued together the underbelly is incredibly hard to

  24. I like to speed-paint. This past year, I spent a lot more time on other projects and didn't do much painting, but I got in a few rounds of speed-painting at KublaCon (in May) and at Origins (in June). I don't know why I didn't post these photos months ago, but here they are now. At KublaCon, the speed-painters get to use sets of about 30 little plastic pots of craft paint, like you might find in a paint-by numbers kit -- joined in rows of sprue with flip-off lids, and all set into a routed piece of plywood. I don't know who makes the paints. The range of colors is
