  1. Grabbed this out of my pile to paint as an NPC. Experimented with ink on his coat to mixed effect. Experimented with slime trail on the base - to better effect. Bonus, he was ready in time to see some action! Does he look trustworthy, or not?
  2. Not your standard elf..... why is she lurking in the dark? She had some serious mould lines which resulted in some unintentional butchery on my part, but she's a fine tabletop lass for an evening encounter in the woods. I am most pleased by her cape.
  3. So here is a pair of bandits from Bones kickstarters that finally made they way to my painting table - needed to add to the gang interrupting my group's trip to town. The guy with the flashy shield is the leader. Tabletop with trying to work with highlights/washes - tried going the no lining route.....

  5. And here is crusader number 3 - finally got myself a micropen.
  6. This is the last of the adventuring party I painted up - a quick and dirty job as the player wants another figure eventually, just not sure what. These are the last figures I painted before 2 things - an unplanned life break from painting from March-July, a reassessment of painting, time and goals. I've also included a group shot with the other three party members. Thanks for looking!
  7. I also painted this Plant Dragon to include in my Welcome to the Jungle diorama/terrain piece for my Lost World Project. Again, I thought it would be nice to show it off separately before it becomes part of the terrain.
  8. I have painted these guys to include them in a diorama/terrain piece for the Lost World and thought they deserved a show off of their own before they dissapear into the vast jungle. Enjoy.
  9. Here is my painting today, my Goremaw. I am doing some of the bigger models to aim for my 77580: Ma'al Drakar the Dragon Tyrant, which I hope to paint this month. I am particularly happy how the maw worked out. I'll do the base tomorrow, I think. C&C?
  10. Here is my painting of the cemetery gates from Reaper Bones III KS. I got some in the boxed set and some extras. If anyone knows the product number I will add it. I basecoated the stones in Dwarven Forge Sludge and the bars in Dwarven Forge Black. Next I heavily drybrushed it all in Lonestar Leather 09284 and then added Dragon Bronze 09449 to the tips. I washed it all with Stone Wash 09311 Finally I used Vallejo Fluo Green on the skulls. Any C&C?
  11. I speed-painted these over two afternoons to be a party of NPC adventurers for an eclectic mash-up of Exalted and the World of Darkness. They are 77322, Kassandra of the Blade (sculpted by Werner Klocke); 77405, Aeris, Female Elf Ranger (sculpted by Julie Guthrie); as-yet unnumbered Mythos figures based on 50032: Jake Ryan, Hero Explorer (sculpted by Bobby Jackson) and the Victorian Lord from the set 50326: Victorian Lord & Dame (sculpted by Bob Ridolfi); and 77409, Flara, Elf Heroine (sculpted by Werner Klocke). WIP thread here.
  12. My GM needed a party of NPCs fast for a game of Exalted set in the World of Darkness (think fantasy characters popping up in a modern day world, more or less). There was no time to order anything, but we had the handy new Bones III core and Mythos sets. These are the Bones minis 77322, Kassandra of the Blade (sculpted by Werner Klocke); 77405, Aeris, Female Elf Ranger (sculpted by Julie Guthrie); as-yet unnumbered Mythos figures based on 50032: Jake Ryan, Hero Explorer (sculpted by Bobby Jackson) and the Victorian Lord from the set 50326: Victorian Lord & Dame (scul
  13. Now, I've done dioramas, and I've done scenic bases, and I've dressed up maps and suchlike, and I've certainly done terrain pieces... but up until now, I've never actually done a terrain BOARD. Durnit.
  14. Hi, long time no type! I've been waiting for the Bones III figures to arrive specifically for this figure, because I wanted to try an old technique I used to use - Tamiya Clear paints over a metallic base. This is pretty much a speed technique for armored figures. It took me about an hour (not including time to let coats dry) to: Prime the figure using Reaper Blue Liner Base coat with Vallejo Model Air Steel Wash with Reaper Steel Wash Drybrush with Vallejo Model Air Silver Finish with Tamiya Clear Smoke over the top (this is effectively a t
  15. One down, many many more to go.
  16. So finally go done sorting out my box of bones 3 and decided to do the minotaur skelly to break the seal. I really the undying lords set. Such fun to paint and fairly easy for a newb like myself. As always would love to hear constructive criticism. AJ AJ
  17. I painted all my lycanthropes first. Figured I'd share. I couldn't help myself with the wereboar, and I was thinking of making a little hat for the weregator. I gar-ron-tee.
