  1. Looking for suggestion on which of the Bones dragons would be a decent match for the Pathfinder Cloud Dragon for use in the next book of the Giantslayer campaign that I'm currently running. I have maybe a month or two before they encounter this bad beast. He is considered an Adult dragon, size: Huge.
  2. Another Bones figure. I don't paint many non-humanoids, but I liked the way this guy turned out.
  3. He's about a year old now, but hey, I have to start with something here! Happily accepting critique (especially on photographing the finished work!) Happy Painting, y'all!
  4. Since I don't have enough projects on the go, I decided to start another one. When the Bones III Kickstarter came around I really liked the Blackstar Corsairs, so much I ordered two sets. When the giant box o' Bones arrived I was surprised to see them on their sprues still and in pieces. Not a problem, it just meant I couldn't play with them, err, inspect them when I was sorting my figs. So they all went in a Ziploc. Today while pondering which project to work on I noticed them (they were hiding behind another project I have't even started a WIP on yet....). And tonight while pondering how the Olympics ruin TV for everyone, even when it is night where the Olympics are being held, I decided to go take a look at them. I found it interesting that all 5 come with the same "accessory" sprue, which contains a bayonet, a belt of grenades?, the visor, a sheathed knife and a gun with right hand. But 80076 and 80080 come with the same gun on their parts sprue as well. So you end up with a couple extra guns. Each guy comes in 4 parts btw, lower torso, upper torso and each arm. My plan is to do the first 5 as designed, then do some mods on the other 5. May need to look for some weapons to swap. At this point these guys are just clipped and friction fitted. I'll get them cleaned up and glued together sometime soon. The middle 3 will likely need the right arm and weapon left off until after painting the body. Not sure if I'll use all of the accessories on all of them or not. I'm very happy with these guys, glad I got 2 sets. They will likely play a role in my Savage Rifts campaign at some point. And maybe the IMEF have a new enemy to battle....
  5. Finished this guy off with a simple base.
  6. Along with the Pyros, I also painted up a set of the Goblin Warriors. Another Bones 1 set that had excellent detail and great character. Sculpted by Ben Siens. I liked these little guys enough that I think I'm going to pick up a set in metal and try for more precision.
  7. Going back through a few of the (many, many) unpainted Bones figures, I decided to paint these. The longer I spent on them the more I loved them. Sculpted by Ben Siens The colors were experiments that I think worked pretty well for these guys and the details were excellent (even though these were a Bones I release).
  8. I am painting my way through the core set of bones3 He was in the original 30 I cannot identify him more than that. I cant find him on figure finder, and I have no idea how reaper would classify either his weapon or his armor. a mace/polearm? robes with brigadine? He is listed on an old spreadsheet as "Sorcerer" Wut? needless to say, he is not under "Sorcerer" in on the reaper web site.
  9. Trying to get back into painting and out of my comfort zone, here is Silverhorn: Nothing wild really, but it was a good exercise in painting up from gray to white. Not perfect but he turned out much better than anticipated, so I’m calling this one a win.
  10. I painted this up quickly several months back, to swell the ranks of water elementals. It was translucent blue, but I painted it opaque. I feel I have more control that way, and don't have the spiffy inks everyone says work so well on the translucent BONES minis. C&C Welcome.
  11. I have been working on my contrast while painting- I love this sculpt! This was shot with 2 different lighting setups- which one does everyone prefer?
  12. just wishing to put this out there, but what are the chances of warlord coming back, hopefully with the success of bones reaper can really hammer our full fledged army boxes. i only ask this as warlord was my very FIRST miniatures game and heck it was the first miniatures i ever bought and wish to see it again even if its just bones army sets or something. maybe even a third edition possibly. i mean am i alone in wanting warlord back?
  13. Here is the next project for “Try to paint all the things!” I plan to paint her as a very light skinned elf. I might try an Autumnal color scheme.
  14. I had a good time painting this one. hope you like.
  15. I painted this large water elemental several months back to fill a gap in my water elemental supply. It started out translucent blue, but I painted it opaque. I haven't tried inking the transulcents like others have, I lack the inks, and feel I get good control with opaques. I wanted a simple beach sand looking base, to suggest he has washed up on the beach to harass sunbathers. C&C Welcome.
  16. Here are another pair of Giant Centipedes. I have 6 total of these, and these are the 4th and 5th to receive paint. Simple, bright green with some red eyes and antennae for contrast. C&C welcome.
  17. Last new post for the day. Here is another BONES Tick. I have 2 more and a queen. This is the 4th painted one, and I painted it while I painted the centipedes. I wanted some bright colors and bright markings. C&C Welcome.
  18. Finished this figure over the weekend. Some parts I like quite a lot, but the blending is a bit weak and the casting of the left side of the face is poor. I like the sculpt a lot, and I've put the metal version (03547) into my wishlist for my next order. I think it might make a very nice piece to spend more time on.
  19. Maglok

    Technomancer

I painted this dude up as my technomancer for our Starfinder campaign. The idea is his coat is very tech-ey. I used a Bones Chronoscope miniature and modded in some antenna. Also slightly purple skin, cause this is a Lashunta.
  20. Finished this figure over the weekend. Painted to a moderately high tabletop standard*, trying for an interesting color scheme that is new to me. * Except for the eyes, which are very weak.
  21. Clothes inspired by fox hunters. My painted writting on the scroll is rubish, notice you cant see it in these pictures. It is very hard to reach the scroll from behind, or around the curls. It is my third figure from the Dreadmere expansion, grabbed randomly from the "This looks fun to paint" group from that expansion. found the metal version - I need to make some fixes on this one.
  22. Painted up another bad guy for my players to encounter! Used contrast paints and light drybrushing on the stone Added the chompy goo-gore with glossy red
  23. While I still need to do his base, I finished of this pretty boy.
  24. Saw this figure in my LGS a while back, decided to buy it, and now I'm using it as my new DnD character. He was quite intriguing to paint. I really enjoyed this one. I used Citadel paints for it. I also gave it a spray undercoat first, I do with all minis even ones that are already primed, too much of a habit now.
