    77185 Large Earth Elemental

I am pretty new to the hobby having started painting in February. I finally worked up the courage to post one of my completed projects in the hopes of getting some feedback. So here is my painted Large Earth Elemental from the Reaper Bones line. Any advise is very welcome as I would very much like to improve! Thanks!

    WIP on Akukavali

Like the title say, WIP. Struggling a little with the vagueness of the sculpt, but this is an early Bones, AFAIK, so making allowances.
  3. I have a few WIPs that are taking forever, but I needed an alternate Kuo Toa faction for D&D tonight, so I went for it and “speed painted” these in about 4 hours. I used both BCA Pink *and* Drow Nipple Pink as the main skin and spine colors! Do I get bonus points for that? Here are the ones I did a few months before that took about 4 times longer over several weekends.

    77054 Galladon, Male Wizard

Another Bones figure. I'm not entirely sure where the color scheme came from. I just started and it kind of grew. This is a very annoying figure to paint. The hat brim is very wide and there's detail under it that is almost impossible to get to. The same is true of the beard. But the semi-random color scheme turned into something way outside what I usually paint, but in a good way. Bones are great for experiments, because I don't feel like I have to obsess about every detail like I would for a competition piece. And I think my quality is going up as a result.

    77202 Warg

Another Bones figure. I don't paint many non-humanoids, but I liked the way this guy turned out.

    Stone Giant [Intro Post!!]

He's about a year old now, but hey, I have to start with something here! Happily accepting critique (especially on photographing the finished work!) Happy Painting, y'all!

    Cloud Dragon - Best Fit

Looking for suggestion on which of the Bones dragons would be a decent match for the Pathfinder Cloud Dragon for use in the next book of the Giantslayer campaign that I'm currently running. I have maybe a month or two before they encounter this bad beast. He is considered an Adult dragon, size: Huge.

    77017 Skeletal Swordsman

Finished this guy off with a simple base.

    89003 Pathfinder Goblin Warriors

Along with the Pyros, I also painted up a set of the Goblin Warriors. Another Bones 1 set that had excellent detail and great character. Sculpted by Ben Siens. I liked these little guys enough that I think I'm going to pick up a set in metal and try for more precision.

    89002 Pathfinder Goblin Pyros

Going back through a few of the (many, many) unpainted Bones figures, I decided to paint these. The longer I spent on them the more I loved them. Sculpted by Ben Siens The colors were experiments that I think worked pretty well for these guys and the details were excellent (even though these were a Bones I release).

    77029 Silverhorn, Unicorn

Trying to get back into painting and out of my comfort zone, here is Silverhorn: Nothing wild really, but it was a good exercise in painting up from gray to white. Not perfect but he turned out much better than anticipated, so I’m calling this one a win.

    Warlord Bones?

just wishing to put this out there, but what are the chances of warlord coming back, hopefully with the success of bones reaper can really hammer our full fledged army boxes. i only ask this as warlord was my very FIRST miniatures game and heck it was the first miniatures i ever bought and wish to see it again even if its just bones army sets or something. maybe even a third edition possibly. i mean am i alone in wanting warlord back?

    77428-Dungeon Vermin Tick

Last new post for the day. Here is another BONES Tick. I have 2 more and a queen. This is the 4th painted one, and I painted it while I painted the centipedes. I wanted some bright colors and bright markings. C&C Welcome.

    77311-Large Water Elemental

I painted this large water elemental several months back to fill a gap in my water elemental supply. It started out translucent blue, but I painted it opaque. I haven't tried inking the transulcents like others have, I lack the inks, and feel I get good control with opaques. I wanted a simple beach sand looking base, to suggest he has washed up on the beach to harass sunbathers. C&C Welcome.

    77310-Water Weird

I painted this up quickly several months back, to swell the ranks of water elementals. It was translucent blue, but I painted it opaque. I feel I have more control that way, and don't have the spiffy inks everyone says work so well on the translucent BONES minis. C&C Welcome.

    77427-Dungeon Vermin - Centipede (2)

Here are another pair of Giant Centipedes. I have 6 total of these, and these are the 4th and 5th to receive paint. Simple, bright green with some red eyes and antennae for contrast. C&C welcome.
  17. I finished my Leisynn conversion. Took ages, especially with a new baby boy in the house. That said, I am fairly pleased how he turned out. I changed the entire front and head area of the miniature and gave him a more sensible staff. I think contrast could be increased overall and the subtle freehand on his robes was difficult. I will need to practice more with future minis. The illumination in the book turned out ok, but I came to the limits of my current abilities. It is based on a medieval illumination. Anyone can guess what it is? One hint: the horned one is involved. C&C very welcome.
  18. Here is the next project for “Try to paint all the things!” I plan to paint her as a very light skinned elf. I might try an Autumnal color scheme.

    77057 Bones Juliette, Female Sorceress

Finished this figure over the weekend. Some parts I like quite a lot, but the blending is a bit weak and the casting of the left side of the face is poor. I like the sculpt a lot, and I've put the metal version (03547) into my wishlist for my next order. I think it might make a very nice piece to spend more time on.

    89021 Bones Mystic Theurge

Finished this figure over the weekend. Painted to a moderately high tabletop standard*, trying for an interesting color scheme that is new to me. * Except for the eyes, which are very weak.
  21. Painted up another bad guy for my players to encounter! Used contrast paints and light drybrushing on the stone Added the chompy goo-gore with glossy red

    Dreadmere - Sheriff Getmose Drumfasser

Clothes inspired by fox hunters. My painted writting on the scroll is rubish, notice you cant see it in these pictures. It is very hard to reach the scroll from behind, or around the curls. It is my third figure from the Dreadmere expansion, grabbed randomly from the "This looks fun to paint" group from that expansion. found the metal version - I need to make some fixes on this one.
  23. I am painting my way through the core set of bones3 He was in the original 30 I cannot identify him more than that. I cant find him on figure finder, and I have no idea how reaper would classify either his weapon or his armor. a mace/polearm? robes with brigadine? He is listed on an old spreadsheet as "Sorcerer" Wut? needless to say, he is not under "Sorcerer" in on the reaper web site.
