  1. This was one of the first add-ons from the Kickstarter that was a must for me. Monster Undead are always fun.
  2. I recently started a project to go through the Bones 1 KS models I have in order from a printout of the Rewards pictures. Here is the first project: Cassie, Gnome Wizard. There are some great examples of her out there. I knew I wanted a purple-haired gnome, and just went from there. The most aggravating part of this miniature was the cloak. I wasn't planning on spending so much time on these figures, but I tried a freehand Raindrop pattern, and it took a long time. Link to WIP Enjoy. C&C Welcome. -Darc
  3. Here is the next figure on the list. Callie. I think it’s funny that episode 1 was Cassie, and right next to her is a figure with almost the same name. She had had a weird straight warp to the lower part of her bow. I boiled that out. It has stayed in the corrected position for a month now. This is after Brown Liner. It looks like an arrow coming out of the quiver, but strange it has no fletching....From the front, maybe a finger?
  4. So, I am taking on a quite ambitious project, I need these 30 mouslings ready for my son's 4th grade class by Friday??? (maybe following Monday, which would be nice haha) so he can give them out when they celebrate his birthday. So, here's the mini's (I am short two, but it should work out since there are 30 in his class and that's what Miniature Market sent. I ordered 32): Here they are unpacked, after a good washing: Mr. Bones is there because he will be my test case once they are all painted, he will be the one getting a matte varnish through my airbrush to see if I have everything correct, then I will know I am safe to coat all the rest:) More pics to come once I mount these tonight and get a primer coat on them tomorrow so I can see details.
  5. This is Bones Nakayama Hayato Iconic Samurai. I found his details a bit crude and decided to paint it as a statue for my Nippon Project. Speed Paint with the Reaper Stone Triad. Scale 75 Decayed Metal, P3 Molten Bronze and Vallejo Verdigris. WIP here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79416-nippon-land-of-the-rising-moon-by-glitterwolf/&page=10&tab=comments#comment-1829761 There is a legend that deep in the woods around Kyoto there stands a statue of one of Nippon's greatest warriors. If one would find it and paid respect to it the statue might bestow luck on that person. It is also believed that when the Empire is in dire need, the statue will come to life to fight once more to protect Nippon.
  6. Some time passed from my last painted mini, had no time to paint This time i've tried to speed paint some OSL, using some new techs of my invention to trying to have some nice painted mini in less time; basically involves the use of White glaze, from vallejo, and some drybrush plus ink. The result is not bad, if we think it took me 2 hours to get this. Tabletop quality, but i'm pretty happy of him. Hope you'll like it, critics and adwice always welcome :) Thanks for watching.
  7. Here's a bunch of quickie terrain from Bones 4.
  8. This is my take on the Bones 4 Blacksting Wyvern. Definitely not to the level of the beautiful one from Sirithiliel. But I’m pretty pleased with it. I used a lot of shortcuts to get the most bang in the least amount of time : “blending” with airbrush, overuse of washes, and “dirty” feel to hide the crimes. This sculpt was a pleasure to work on and the large wingspan really makes it stand out (and hard to take pics of).
  9. Something that was shockingly lacking in my collection was Merlin/Gandalf types. I think I had traded or sold most of them. Bones 4 helped with that.
  10. Something strangely missing from my Thundering of Giants, Stone Giants! I'm a big fan of the new Lost Valley sculpts from Bones 4.
  11. Another set from the "Lost Valley" expansion from Reaper Miniatures Bones 4, the Jadefire Tribe Orcs.
  12. My first few batches from Bones 4 are complete. Let us start by hailing King Torg. All hail King Torg!
  13. Finally got around to taking some pictures of the work I have been doing. Some of this was done early march, some done in the few minutes when i wasn't either sleeping or working. This has been sitting on my "want to do this shelf" (different from my 'tried and failed shelf of shame' Anyway there was a little picture that someone put together of the Jungle titan rocking out on a photoshoped in guitar and the temple dragon as the lead singer. So i took this to the logical conclusion and created the band "Punk Lizards" they use the dragon plants as part of the light show. This is not the greatest work, but it was fun and i will enjoy having it up and on display! Hope everyone enjoys!

  15. Is there a conversion chart somewhere or a list of colors for the HD lines and how they map to the 'new' Bones HD line replacement? I am trying to compare colors and all charts online utilize the HD line and not sure how I can tie in the HD line with the Bones HD lines which I have. This is the conversion chart I am using and as you can see there is only the HD line. So trying to figure out which of the Bones HD to substitute in. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xl-x9eW3bLw5eqDeNUG2JUwn2EZwn34TDKfNIg5uul4/edit#gid=8 Thanks all for your input. 16. Hey all, It's been a while! Didn't get a lot of painting done in the back half of last year because of a few things, but I have started to climb back to the painting desk. I have a few projects I have completed that I will have to upload, but for now enjoy this rendition of Nor'Okk the Ettin. For some reason I have a soft spot for large, Ogre-like miniatures. I like the scale, I like that they're humanoid but big enough to have really good opportunities to play with muscle tone, etc. I do have a lot of ogres set up to work on, so I wanted to make this ettin different looking. It's not perfect, but I frankly had to get him wrapped up before Bones 4 inundates me even further! Thanks for looking. C and C always appreciated.
  17. I was painting Kieran Tallowmire. I was quite apprehensive as I found that miniature to be quite daunting will all the detail (books, candle, familiar on shoulder ...). I first wanted him to be different ... so no grey robes, no blue robes ... I went for green, which totally did not work out. So he ended up with blue robes (was the easiest way to salvage the wreck that "dark green" had done). Of course, the way he is holding the book and his hand, he is conjuring something, but if green had worked, I would not have had an idea what - a plant maybe? Blue robes - water mage, water elemental. So I remembered that somewhere in my stash of 3D print files, where was a baptismal font, which looked like it could be used with Kieran. The next idea was to get some water sprite / elemental that was conjured out of the font ... and with a 3D file you can scale and reduce the size, so that is what I did with a water elemental / Water snake I had. A couple of mishaps later (me using liquid water for the first time, for example, and discovering that my version dissolves normal plastic glue) ... this is the result: I really think I had some good ideas, I'm not sure if I'm satisfied with my execution - but as I usually strive for table-top quality, I think it's ok. The base is resin by Fenryll ... Thinking about using red on the runes outside the pentagram ... or do the blue, too? Or just leave them as they are? Criticism welcome.
  18. Some basic table-top paints here, The owlbear paint is (more or less) a straight up copy of the Reaper website example but i think the base is interesting. It starts off basically as a rock/gravel pile, and I thought it was rather boring so i turned it into the Owl Bear's cave floor covered in feces about an arms length deep. Practiced some sculpting on it. With P3 putty The big rocks were turned into Ogre skulls, a horse skull, and a face-down skeleton of some sad creature, all simmering in poo :) The Ankheg, it's always a balance of painting something like for max visual appeal or realism, went with the latter since something that just burst out of the ground would be pretty dirty, at least on the side it's digging with. This is my own work, did not copy anything so in that regard I'm pretty happy with it. For the back, went with a Game Color Dragon Green mixed with Filigree Silver, highlighted with a mix of bright yellow, Army painter Hemp rope, and a touch silver. The Owl Bear fur is Black Base + Citadel Rhinox Hide ,Game-color Woodland Brown and Dessert Tan layered in. Wings are Stormy gray lightening out Rainy gray on tips. For some reason this model was really east to paint , it never fought back like some of them do, (probably because i coped a picture ;) natural light
  19. I don’t have the lot number yet. Also, this is my first post so guidance on posting conventions is welcome. The Bones 4 haul was extraordinary! Edit: sized down. I’ll figure out how to get down to 150 kB later.
  20. My first Black Bones mini, I got this lovely Owlbear from @Corsair !!! Thanks friend I hope did it proud! WIP here if interested: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/85553-bones-black-owlbear/ It took primer and paint very well. Glued with Greenstuffworld Superglue to it's base and flocked. Hope you like it!
  21. Finished this miniature today for my Wrath of the Righteous campaign. Part of a LOT of demons. He has more slime on his base then the picture brings out, but he was fun to paint and actually sorta quick due to some airbrush work. 7377: Toad Demon on the Reaper store
  22. This thread is shamelessly ripping off a wonderful idea from our goblin friend @buglips*the*goblin from this thread way back around Bones KS1 days. The intent of this thread is to have lots of people post WIP shots of their Bones Sophie paint jobs. Here are the minis to pick from (SKUs to be updated here soon): From Left to Right: KS2 Trollslayer Sophie 77370, KS3 Sophie the Sage 77491, KS4 Innkeeper Sophie, KS4 Small World Sophie, Sir Forscale (Note that Sir Forscale is just that, for scale. He is not part of this for WIP purposes.) There is no time limit or set starting date. If you come across this thread long after I have posted it and want to join, feel free. Quick ground rules: 1. Only Bones Sophie is allowed. There are four of them (unless I somehow missed one). 2. Try to limit yourself to a few posts a day, though. No reason to flood this thread too much. (Unless this doesn't pick up interest and it is just me, lol). 3. Watch the side conversations. Ideally this is primarily WIP pics and some direct conversation to help encourage or guide the painters. 4. If this picks up lots of interest, we will use one Show Off thread as to not overwhelm that thread too badly. 5. Play nice. This is meant to encourage people to paint. I am hoping we get painters of all levels of ability. Encourage people to join in. The more the merrier. Feel free to PM me with questions or concerns. I will try to update this thread with any clarifications or whatnot. Alright, now let's get this party started!
  23. The challenge complete! I present Kai, the Strawberry Dragon! Thank you all for the challenge and the feedback!
  24. Waiting for my Bones 4 to show up... Barnabas is representing a sea dwarf ship captain played by one of my DND players. His trident was forged by Poseidon from the deepest coral; it is harder than adamantine armor.
  25. I got two Efreetis in my recent Reaper order. Out of the two one had far more gap lines than the other, so I opened the one that would take less effort to work on first since it's been awhile since I have properly tinkered with a mini. First thing's first, gap filling! This model had quite a lot of mold lines too, I dealt with most of them with an xacto knife and a file. The Bones Black material is brittle enough to handle a file if you're careful unlike the white Bones counterpart. While priming I noticed that part of one of her horns was missing, must have snapped off during shipping or during my work on her. Touched it back up with some more green stuff, just waiting for it to cure before I prime over it. In the mean time, there is nothing stopping me from popping into Procreate to play around with a colour scheme. I wanted to try something a but different than other painting examples I had seen. Still incorporating the red and gold, just in different ways.
