  1. Latest for the local Mini painting club. pretty nice sculpt by Bobby Jackson. I like how it came out.
  2. Hey everyone, the madness continues. Here's the 77445, Goblin skirmisher with shortbow sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  3. Presenting the Sniper, part of the Echoes of Death Vol. 3 set by Kingdom Death, looking snazzy in her Sunstalker outfit. Another one where I had trouble coming up with a colour scheme, but I think she looks okay, just rather colourful! As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  4. Hello everyone, here are pictures of 02909, Nienna the elf ranger sculpted by Werner Klocke. I use that model in our still postponed D&D sessions. She's an half-elf named Vadariah. She had to flee her native village with her mother when it was attacked by Orcs. During their adventures, she became a very versatile young woman. She began her journey as a ranger and later became interested in stealthiness and sorcery. So, she's now a multi-class character; 3rd level ranger, 3rd level lightbringer rogue and 2nd level sorceress. Her familiar is a hawk, flying somewhere in the blue. I hope you'll enjoy.
  5. Presenting Theron, a captain in the Hunters Guild team in the game of Guild Ball by Steamforged Games, and that's about all I know about this one. Quite pleased with this one, had fun painting all the stitching and other doodads. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  6. I have very fond memories of gnolls from playing World of Warcraft. I don't know why I enjoyed them so much but I did. So when I pulled out these gnolls to paint, I knew I was going to paint them like World of Warcraft gnolls. This is the Bones Blacktongue gnoll.
  7. Recently finished up this mini for a 5e character I made recently (Wood Elf Rogue). The slot base connector snapped during the prep stage, so I decided to rebase the mini and add some leaves as custom terrain (painted birch seeds).
  8. Meet Raven! And her hound Foxy! Member of the Red Cloaks band of mercenaries traveling the Land. Ranged support while providing knowledge of how to survive outside of civilization. Not that stops Ernie's complaining... 60181: Adowyn & Leryn (Iconic Hunter & Wolf) painted in Autumn palette with NMM, Texture, and Freehand. This was another miniature full of fiddly bits to paint. After watching Bobby Jackson sculpt on the Reaper LIVE show, I think this was a digital sculpt! Looking forward to seeing this miniature in the BONES version.
  9. Here's Niles Nimbletoe, the Rogue in our D&D group. 02769, Woody the Halfling Ranger is Dark Heaven Legends model sculpted by Werner Klocke. It's a model I had already painted a long time ago. I refreshed the colors and I added mud on his coat. This little guy is so tiny I monted it on a 20mm base.
  10. Darksword Miniatures Otter Ranger with Bow DSM8089 by Dave Summers
  11. This was my entry in the Miniature Monthly End of Year Competition. It is a beautiful sculpt that was fun to paint. I had to do a desert theme due to playing Assassin’s Creed Origins inbetween painting sessions and I couldn’t get the light brown with blue color scheme out of my head. I am really happy with her skin although her left thigh looks really flat in the photo. Any feedback would be appreciated.
  12. The elf ranger from my Dragons Don't Share 2 group of adventurers. I wanted my adventuring party to be diverse in skin tones so I tried my hand at a Drow. I like how his skin came out although maybe a bit dark. He wasn't my favorite adventurer and you can tell with my painting as I rushed him to get him finished. In hindsight, I didn't like the colors I chose but I didn't feel like starting over on him so he is what he is. He has a cloth tied around his scabbard. I envisioned this as a memento from his lover as he left on his journey, perhaps her scarf. That is why it is a completely different color than anything himself or the rest of the party is wearing. The little bit of white at the bottom of his base is where he was stuck down with sticky tack. I have touched that up. C&C welcome!
  13. Another one painted for the Summer Exchange.
  14. Painted this one up for the Summer Exchange but kept forgetting to post photos. Love this little guy, lots of character in such a small sculpt.
  15. "..The destruction was total. Whoever or whatever was destroying the forest it was very methodical and thorough about it. It was as if the very life itself was sucked clean out of anything and everything for miles in every direction. The air itself reeked of unspeakable, almost palpable evil.. - Necromancers.. Cursed Arthrand the Elven Ranger under his breath and spat as he stood up. He had faced their kind before and knew what he was up against.. But this time something was different.. Something much more sinister and afoul was at work.. He could not possibly defeat this new threat alone. He had to find others.. He had to form a war band to destroy utterly and completely who dared to touch his forest! And he knew exactly where to start.." So, I decided to speedily paint some of my bones in order to form a war band of 6-8 characters.. Arthrand will be the leader and he will go around town recruiting others to his cause.. It was supposed to be speed paint and the painting itself was done in two days, a total of 5-6 hours. The base however took me even more since my basing materials have disappeared mysteriously.. (Damned Necromancers! ) So, once I get some decent flock I might do some re-basing. However I didn't fret too much about it since table-top is what I aim here. As always, thanks for looking and C&C is always welcome.. I hope you will enjoy the adventures of Arthrand Nightblade as it is revealed to us..
  16. Greetings Folks! Just a quick tabletop quality paintjob of Galadanoth, Elf Sniper from the Bones 3 Kickstarter - complete with wonky eyes...... Thanks for looking!
  17. Thumper the ranger. His family was eaten by the same Ogres that slayed the Tortoise Cleric's Brother. So he joins him.
  18. Rothmartyn of the DarkWold by RBG Sculpted by Tre Manor Quality: Table Top PLUS This piece is TT+ but it also has a more of a "reach" in it than a TT+. I attempted a more elaborate freehand with the cloak - which you can see on the WIP linked at the bottom. As well as I attempted NMM for the first time. Now let me give you some context on that last sentence. I typically do TMM (True Metallic Metals) and I do them in virtually the same manner but with the added benefit (IMHO) of having actual reflection while on the table. So yes this was my first execution of NMM successfully, it is not far from my normal. All in all I think it turned out well. The green blade as well is in NMM effect. For this piece I really wanted to ascent texture which I attempted on the tunic that is laying across his legs. And other bits and bobs. The face is pretty basic which is one of the reasons I didn't do a close up of it. RBG faces from this era are pretty small and the eyes are tiny. So tiny seeing a pupil and reflection mark would be... useless in my opinion. But I would say it turned out well. More personality than I thought I was going to give it. I was B+ satisfied with the cloak. I tried doing a suggestion @Darcstaar gave me but I think I executed it "o.k". I'll try again with another model. I attempted a few new things with this piece and I like how it turned out. Thank you all for your help and support. Would really enjoying your questions, comments and critiques on this. WORK IN PROGRESS: RBG: RothMartyn of the DarkWold
  19. Here is a very familiar face. I painted this guy up for my Brother so he could use him to represent his character in our Dungeons and Dragons games.
  20. My latest project, complete. You can find the WIP thread here. I did an experiment, using ridges of dirt flocking to hold in water effects. It actually worked out reasonably well, though next time I'll know to build up the rest of the base more. I also decided this one was female, on the basis that she's noticeably larger than the other two. I'm rather happy with how the shield came out here. It looked a bit like a horseshoe crab to me, so I wanted to make it look nice and chitinous, as though she tore it from the back of some great swamp arthropod. My first freehand. It was supposed to be an anchor-shaped tattoo to start with, but I messed that up, and decided to just go with an abstract design. I cheated on the pupils for these guys. I bought a micron pen, and it worked out rather well. I probably would have gone with a solid color for the eyes, otherwise. This was the only one to have any sort of decoration on his integral base. The others are pure broccoli, but he's got a little plant on his. Gave it a nice pale green color to contrast with his scales. The color is actually a mystery paint Reaper sent me. I actually have two bottles of the stuff, from two orders from around the same time. I'll be sad when it runs out. It's a very nice color. And here we have his turtleshell shield. I actually looked up pictures of real turtles and cobbled together characteristics of several species for the color selection and pattern. And here's the whole happy family, together. Touching, really.
  21. I initially bought this figure to use in the Kingmaker campaign I was playing in. However I didn’t get the miniature before we encountered the villain, and he’s sat on my shelf ever since. Quite a quick job on this one and I think he’d make a pretty nice druidy character.
  22. Pretty Laerke by RBG Sculpted by Tre Manor This archer was an absolute joy to paint. From the moment I saw her I saw a red head. Probably highly influenced by Brave but oh well. I wanted to do some free hand on her under tunic but I could not decide on it so I left it. The base is hand sculpted too. I have a resin one from RBG coming in soon and I'm thinking of doing it as her sister and make her standing on a similar base maybe a different type of red hair. Not sure yet. Enjoy!
  23. A buddy of mine played his first ever session of D&D a few weeks back. He's talked about it at work (by buddy I mean one my bosses) quite a bit, and is really excited about playing again. At his first session, there were some experienced players that all had minis. He asked them where they were from, and from I could gather, they were mostly Pathfinder and D&D prepainted minis. Since Christmas is right around the corner, and he's been a great boss - and friend - I decided to paint something up for him. His character, an Elven Ranger, uses a special bow. I had this piece on my bench, primed and ready to go, so it seemed fitting. He was ecstatic when I delivered the piece to him today. Hope you like it! As always, C&C is welcomed. CAH
  24. 03557, Valentines Mousling sculpted by Gene Van Horne. Painted up for the Valentine's Day contest.
