  1. I speed painted these zombies probably a month ago, I just haven't been in the mood to take pictures or hobby since I finished 'em. Well, I had a pretty good day yesterday, and I think my mojo might be back, so you get some pictures. I think I spent about 7 hours on them as a group, and they're painted to a tabletop level. Thanks for looking.
  2. Welcome to the BoGW chatter thread for round 5! The arrival/departure thread is here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/75477-box-of-goodwill-round-5-arrivaldeparture-thread-no-chatter/ I will keep that thread updated as people post in it. If there are any questions, hopefully you'll find the answer here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/75138-box-of-goodwill-round-5-sign-up-thread-the-continuing-journey-of-sir-forescale-and-friends/ If not, PM your box starter and/or myself. Here are the groups: Generic Fighter Pineapple Shadowphaze Thumpernicus Matt Parody TGP Generic Fighter Pcktlnt HDClearman Izzylobo Dr.Bedlam Kate Arc724 Kangaroorex Pcktlnt Guindyloo Inarah Knarthex Froggy the Great David Brawley Haldir Horned Turtle Guindyloo Bonwirn MadJack Sylverthorne Hungerfan Keianna Buckyball Jsalyers Bonwirn Rob Dean SGHawkins09 Dogbl NomadZeke Evil Halfling Klarg1 Rob Dean Froggy The Great Pingo Dilvish the Deliverer Epimys Broonkah SparrowMarie Morihalda Chaos Wolf Chaos Wolf Chris Palmer Hiddenone32 Talae Lidless Eye Ub3r N3rd Samurai Jack Chaos Wolf Some of you may notice that I will be ending up with 2 boxes at the completion of this round; here's why: Froggy wants to transition from box starter to participant, so he is sending out the box he currently has and has been worked into a group so he can play along too. I will end up with the box that he is starting out. I may try to bring it along to Reapercon with me (if I have by then) or I may Froggcidentally combine his box with my box for the next go-round.

  4. An old Ral Partha lady warrior I painted for the Morihalda Challenge. I'm happy with her eyes (only two tries!), but she seems kinda washed out in the pictures. I need to play with the light box more.
  5. This is a giant frog from Mega Minis (you can't get it from there any more, though. He sold the molds to another company; I'm not sure who) that I have painted up as an Ice Toad for use in FrostGrave games. Also part of my Morihalda Challenge.
  6. This is one of the figures from 06028 plague zombies. I painted him as part of my Morihalda Challenge, he's also going into my End Times project as a chaos marauder dedicated to Nurgle, the plague god. Table top painting, as usual.
  7. I'm not sure what this is supposed to be; I got it as part of a figure lot on Ebay. Maybe an Otyugh? Maybe something C'thulu-ish? In any case I painted it for the Morihalda Challenge.
  8. This is an old Grenadier dwarf from their 'Fantasy Warriors' range/game. I initially wanted his eyes facing up towards his axe, but after goofing them up about 342,539 times, I decided to go with what I had. Tabletop painting for Morihalda Challenge.
  9. This is an old wizard figure from the ChainMail game. I'm including him as part of my Morihalda Challenge; he was already painted, but I did some touch ups, and based him. I was having a bad day, but didn't want to break my streak, so I needed something quick and easy. Still trying to get the hang of playing with my wife's light box; he's a little washed out.
  10. I forget exactly what this figure is called, but it's another old Mage Knight figure that I have repainted. I think it would work well as a (small) evil treant. I'd have to go through the Monster Manual, but I'm sure that there are other plant monsters this would work as, too. Tabletop paint job as usual. ETA---Forgot to mention, this is part of my Morihalda challenge (do art every day in December).
  11. I'm not entirely sure what this is supposed to be; I got it in a group of figures that I bought on Ebay. I know it's by Grenadier, and that's it. I painted this up as part of my Morihalda challenge; to a (hopefully) decent tabletop standard. Those eyes were tons of fun.
  12. This is an old Grenadier miniatures troll that I dug out of the lead mountain and gave a quick, tabletop level paint job to. I hope you like him. I slathered Modge Podge all over his base to make it look like he's hanging out in a swamp. I may have made him too dark; this is the best picture I could manage to get of him...
  13. This is an old article, so some of you might already know about it.... http://www.rollingstone.com/tv/news/lord-of-the-rings-tv-series-in-the-works-w511077
  14. This is an old mage knight figure I stripped (yes, it is possible. Not easy, but possible. It's also not always worth the time and energy involved) and then repainted. Painted to table top. Let me know what you think. Better view of the base. Yes, it's got eyes, and they're painted!
  15. The two spider swarms from Bones 1, painted to a table top standard. I tried doing a little free hand with some markings here and there to hopefully make them a little interesting. Thanks for looking.
  16. This is an old Grenadier bugbear that I started before Reapercon, and finished up last night as part of Inarahs' weekend painting binge. Painted to my usual tabletop standard, mostly in between waiting for my con projects to dry. Let me know what you think.
  17. This is a Horrorclix zombie figure that I repainted. It's the first thing I've done since Reapercon, and was very much a quick-n-dirty, getting back into the groove figure. It's done to a tabletop standard; please let me know what you think.
  18. Sir Danel (this fellow here: https://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/sir danel/latest/14226 ) got Bones-ified way back in Bones 2. With a couple changes. In metal, he has a lance and sword. In Bones, he was supposed to have a sword and shield. Somewhere along the way, a blunder happened. His Bones version is all goofed up. His left hand, holding the sword, is attached to his right arm, and his left arm just ends in a stump, no hand (there is a shield, though). There has been talk of correcting the mistake so that he can be marketed, but to the best of my knowledge this is still in the works. I am going to try to show you how easy it is to 'rescue' your copy of Sir Danel (if you backed Bones 2; he's not currently for sale, for obvious reasons), and hopefully convince you to give it a try. ...and I'm already off to a bad start, as I don't have any pictures of the figure before I start making changes to it. I had already started cutting before the thought occurred to me that other folks might find this interesting/useful. First off, let's cut off his left hand. Ok, now lets get rid of that sword. (At this point, you need to make a decision: do you want him holding the sword, or the shield? I went with shield. If you choose to have him keep the sword, you'd need to carefully bend the shield away from his arm, and cut through the attaching point. If you're careful, you can save the shield to use on somebody else). Ok, here we go. Be very, very careful cutting between the crosspiece of the sword hilt and the top of his hand; if you're not, you're going to need to resculpt some fingers. Now, there is a small attaching nub on the stump of the left arm; slice that off so that you have a flat surface to mate the left hand with. Trim both the left arm and the left hand until you have a good fit, then glue the pieces together. Now, look for a suitable hand/weapon combo to put on the right arm. Here, I took the hammer/hand from 77089: Halbarand, cleric. And he's all set to go forth and smite some evil! I have a few more copies of this figure, which I'll be converting, so I'll show you the conversions as I do them. I hope that this inspires someone to rescue Sir Danel and then paint him up. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. ...or, I'll go ahead and show you some of them now, since I goofed up the pictures somehow... Here, I used the hand and sword from Almaran the gold, 77058. You can also see where I wasn't quite careful enough and needed to fill a gap with some green stuff. I'm not sure who I got the hand and sword from, as I did this one at Reapercon. At this point, I figured I didn't want to have a bunch of differently armed clones, so I started doing head swaps, as well. This head is a Games Workshop bit, from their 'Empire' line. Here is the beginnings of another one; you can see where I'm going to need a little green stuff on his left arm. I've also (carefully) cut off his head and drilled a hole to accommodate the neck of whatever piece I decide to put there. You can also see the beginnings of the right hand/weapon swap. That is a hand from a GW Chaos Warrior.
  19. Ok, here's the promised sign up thread for the Reapercon version of the BoGW. If you were there, or had someone there get you stuff, please do not sign up; I want this to be for folks who weren't there and didn't/couldn't get any neato swag. As discussed here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/76906-reapercon-bogw/&do=findComment&comment=1635801 ...this will need to be a more finite number of people than the normal BoGW, so this sign up thread has a very limited lifespan. The (very) basic rules in case you're unfamiliar: get the box, take out x (probably 3, but I'll let you know for certain) number of minis/items, repack box, and send it to the next person. You don't need to replace any items you take, this is strictly a gift; people at the 'con contributed things that they did not want from their swag/VIP bags to be able to do this. Have fun!
  20. The Bones sarcophagus painted to my usual tabletop level. I have a second one that I'll try painting all the scrollwork, flowers, and whatnot on the outside. This one was mostly washes and drybrushing. I hope you like it.
  21. Another old-school Ral Partha fighting woman who is sensibly dressed. I finished her up last night. let me know what you think, please.
  22. The Bones bookshelf, painted to what I hope is a decent tabletop standard. Let me know what you think.
  23. This is an old Mega Miniatures giant frog that I have painted as an ice toad for use in games of Frostgrave. I have another one that's not quite finished yet; you'll see him a little later on. Tabletop paint as usual. ...and of course I see the base is scratched a little. I'll fix it in a bit.
  24. This is the other figure that comes in the blister pack with the female fighter I posted a while back: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/76723-ral-partha-female-fighter/&tab=comments#comment-1615258 I finished him and he's ready to join his lady friend on the battlefield. Table top paint job.
  25. Sadly, Reapercon is over again, and it’s time to start planning for next year. Once you get done unpacking, take a minute to check in and let your friends know that you made it back home safely.
