  1. I just finished painting this figure yesterday. It's from the old Grenadier boxed set 'Fighting Men' #2005. Not really a whole lot to say about him, I spent about 3 hours painting him to a good tabletop level. I got a little burned out on painting for a while, feeling like I had to paint everything to a competition level. Well, sometimes it's just fun to slap some paint on a figure in a few hours just to take your mind off of other things. I had just forgotten that somewhere along the way. Anyhow, here he is, let me know what you think.
  2. 'Scorch' Sotniko was hot. This whole damn world was hot, but this stinking jungle somehow seemed to be hotter still. The other mercenaries he was moving through the jungle with looked like they were feeling about the same as he was. Strange Midnight, their scout, didn't seem to be bothered as much as everyone else, but that was because he came from the rad deserts of Zargove-3. This was just a nice stroll in the woods for him. Scorch knew that they'd be at the rendezvous point in another half hour or so, and then he'd get a break. He'd be able to refill his canteens, as well as to remove the h
  3. I finally managed to climb back on the painting horse. I painted this vampire to my usual tabletop standard. He'll be the leader for a Mordheim/Frostgrave/random skirmish game warband.
  4. Welcome to the 9th round of the Box of Goodwill! You may have heard about the fabled 'Box of Goodwill'. Maybe you were involved last time, maybe you're new and would like to see what it's all about. Well, you're in the right place!! Read on: This is the official, soon to be patented sign up thread for round 9. As before, please provide the following info in your replies to this thread: Where you live If you'd be willing to ship internationally (more expensive) If you want to be a box starter (depending on the amount of interest) Th
  5. Ok, here are the rules: 1) Please don't sign up if you were there, or if you had someone get you stuff from the con. This is supposed to be for people who weren't there. No, I'm not going to check, but the gods will know, and they will visit a terrible vengeance upon you. 2) Unlike the regular version of the BoGW that you may be familiar with, you don't need to match anything you take. All of this stuff was donated by people to allow other people to get some cool stuff. So, take whatever you want (but see below). 3) No sharing your picks. If it works out that every
  6. Would there be interest in/support for doing this again this year? This is the basic idea behind it for those not familiar: The past couple Reapercons that I've been at, I have noticed a fair amount of swag bag/con exclusive figures that people didn't want getting tossed onto the melt table and/or left laying around. I had the idea of collecting all the unwanted stuff, putting it in a box and shipping it around to folks who couldn't get to the 'con so that they could sort of 'be there, too'. Unlike the regular BoGW, people donating wouldn't get anything
  7. Here's the official arrival/departure thread for round 8 of the Box of Goodwill. Remember, no chatter here, please. Do it here instead: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/85639-box-of-goodwill-round-8-picturechatter-thread/ Generic Fighter---sent 5/4 AHY79---arrived 5/6, sent 5/16 Pineapple---arrived 5/18, sent 5/22 3vil3lvis---arrived 5/25, sent 5/29 ObiJohn27 Hungerfan--arrived 6/18, sent 6/24 Synistar---arrived 6/26, sent 6/29 Generic Fighter---arrived 7/1 Clearman---sent 4/20 Crowley---arrived
  8. If my memory is working properly, I think this guy came out a blister pack marked Ral Partha Imports, so he may have originally been a citadel sculpt. In any case, he's older than at least some of you reading this. His paint got pretty badly dinged up in a move, so i decided to fix him up. Which led to a complete repaint. I hope you like him.
  9. I made these three guys out of my bits box. The bodies and arms are Wargames Factory Vikings, the heads and weapons are from various other sources. The Wargames Factory bits have rather shallow detail, so I didn't spend too much time painting them. I figure they'll make good village militia and/or bandits. Background figures whose job is to take up space and get killed by either the heroes or the orcs.
  10. Well, just the treasure right now; I'll get around to the candelabra sooner or later. I'm not entirely sold on my distribution of wealth; I think next time I'll paint it all gold and try to pick out coins in other colors instead of starting with silver.
  11. Ok, I know that the figure is called 'Blood Demon' but It reminds me of the Bone Devil (Osyluth for all you real old timers out there) from a certain well known role playing game. So, that's how I painted it. Relatively quick tabletop painting, I think I spent about 2-3 hours including basing on this figure.
  12. I decided to paint this fella for Ladystorm's contest a couple months ago, and then promptly forgot about him until this past Saturday. So here's my semi-rushed, totally tabletop but still fun to paint Yeti chief. I was hoping to achieve that polar bear not-quite-white-but-sorta-yellowish-white look for him. I think it worked out alright, but I have an idea to try to improve upon it in the future.
  13. This little guy is one of a set of three figures; I found him on the melt table at Reapercon and snagged him. I figured I could use him in Frostgrave, or as a familiar to some evil baddie in a RPG. Basic tabletop painting, I hope you like it.
  14. I painted Ingrid over during the paint binge weekend this past Thanksgiving. She was sitting in a drawer primed and base coated for at least a few months, so I pulled her out and finished her up. I need to get more practice doing gems; that's supposed to be a ruby in her hand, not a freshly removed heart. Although I suppose it could be.... Please let me know what you think.
  15. Another figure I primed and base coated some time ago that I decided to finally finish painting during the Thanksgiving paint binge.I tried to go for a subtle camouflage effect on her cloak by wet blending several different greens on it. She's done for tabletop, like most of what I paint. Please let me know what you think.
  16. I started this guy last winter sometime so I figured it was time to finish him up. I used the Thanksgiving paint binge to accomplish this. I wanted to imply that he was made from slightly fresher parts, so I used several different flesh tones on him, then washed/drybrushed/weathered him to look a little grungy/rotten. Painted for tabletop; let me know what you think.
  17. This is a figure from (I believe) a C'thulu boardgame. A local book store/game store was having a mini painting event this past Halloween, and this is the figure. The first picture is what I accomplished in 2 hours at the store, while the last 2 are after spending another 30 minutes or so doing some touch ups at home. Speed paint table top figure, i hope you like it.
  18. Ok, I've got the box organized and packed; hopefully I can make to the post office Monday to start it on it's way. 19. This a Bones elf ranger that I started painting a while back and decided to finish just to be done with him. Done to a tabletop standard. Thanks for looking.
  20. These are a couple figures I picked up at the factory while at Reapercon this year. I painted them over the last week or so; lots of browns and greys. I couldn't manage to get a decent picture, but their eyes are glowing green, too. I hope you like them.
  21. Ok, here's the promised sign up thread for the Reapercon version of the BoGW. If you were at Reapercon 2018, or had someone there get you stuff, please do not sign up; I want this to be for folks who weren't there and didn't/couldn't get any neato swag. ...this will need to be a more finite number of people than the normal BoGW, so this sign up thread has a very limited lifespan. The (very) basic rules in case you're unfamiliar: get the box, take out x (probably 3, but I'll let you know for certain) number of minis/items, repack box, and send it to the
  22. This is the Bones version of the Large Earth Elemental. I painted it over the course of a week or so. Thanks for looking.
  23. This is a repainted prepaint of a WOTC Dungeons and Dragons figure. I kept the paint scheme mostly the same since I liked it, but I tried to a do a better job. She's got a decent table top paint job now, I hope. I did her to get back into painting after being in a bit of a slump when I lost my job earlier this year. Ahe's actually been done for a while, I've just been bad about taking pictures. Anyway, I hope you like her.
  24. Here's the official arrival/departure thread for round 7 of the Box of Goodwill. Remember, no chatter here, please.
