  1. Ok, here's the promised sign up thread for the Reapercon version of the BoGW. If you were at Reapercon 2018, or had someone there get you stuff, please do not sign up; I want this to be for folks who weren't there and didn't/couldn't get any neato swag. ...this will need to be a more finite number of people than the normal BoGW, so this sign up thread has a very limited lifespan. The (very) basic rules in case you're unfamiliar: get the box, take out x (probably 3, but I'll let you know for certain) number of minis/items, repack box, and send it to the
  2. This is a repainted prepaint of a WOTC Dungeons and Dragons figure. I kept the paint scheme mostly the same since I liked it, but I tried to a do a better job. She's got a decent table top paint job now, I hope. I did her to get back into painting after being in a bit of a slump when I lost my job earlier this year. Ahe's actually been done for a while, I've just been bad about taking pictures. Anyway, I hope you like her.

  5. This is an old Mage Knight figure that I slightly converted and repainted. He was holding a comically undersized flail in his left hand, so I cut it off and replaced it with a halberd from an old GW Chaos Warrior I had in my bits box. After that, it was just a matter of repainting him for use on the tabletop. He'll make an interesting BBEG in some game I haven't created yet. Thanks for looking.
  6. These are 3 little imps/demons that I pulled off the melt table at Reapercon last year. I'm not sure of manufacturer, so if you recognize them, please let me know. I think they may be from a 15mm figure range. I bashed these guys out over he course of a couple evenings about a week ago. Thanks for looking. With (in need of a touch up) Sir Forscale:
  7. No, not the ever lovin' blue eyed Ben Grimm. Not John Carpenter's horrific alien beast, either. (Although, there is a certain resemblance....) No, this abomination was made at Reapercon last year. I plan on fixing it up and entering it in the open category at the coming Reapercon. This is what it looked like when I got home from the 'con. And this is what it looks like now: I still like the other head idea, and may revisit that sometime in the future, but for now, I like this one bet

  9. I finished this guy last night. I gave him some tattoos; on one hand, I'm (relatively) happy with my attempt at freehand, on the other, I'm really not that great at 2-d art. I'm pretty happy about getting his eyes to look ok, though. Please let me know what you think.
  10. Dylan Blackzorn looked around at the engine room with an annoyed expression on his face. The raiders had caused a hell of a mess in there. A fair amount of damage, too from the looks of things. He signaled for the others with him to follow his lead; they needed to be sure there weren't any surprises waiting for them before they got to work bringing the various systems back online. He flexed his fingers inside the energy glove on his left hand. In addition to being a great asset in the hand to hand combat they'd had to engage in with the raiders, it was also a powerful tool. With i
  11. I finished this guy Friday night, he was a rescue from the melt table at last Reapercon. He was relatively quick to paint, and pretty fun, too. Some of the shading I did on his 'belly' scales is hard to see due to the angle of the pics, but what you see on his bottom half is also present on his chest area, too. I got his eyes looking pretty good (although to be fair, they are a bit bigger than the average human sized figures eyes). I had thought about giving him some patterns on his scales, but decided against it. The base was one of the first ones I've done using base stamps; I'm
  12. This is a 20 man (well, 17 with a unit filler) unit of skeletons that I'm working on for possible use in Kings of War. It's composed of figures by a lot of different manufacturers including Reaper, Ral Partha, GW, Grenadier, Mage Knight, and WOTC. I'm using all the different makers and scales to try and make an interesting looking unit composed of more than just human remains. I am an equal opportunity, non racially biased necromancer, after all. This will be kind of a slow burn project; I'm not in any major rush to finish these for a game any time soon. This will be something to work on
  13. Grublicks idly scratched his butt. He was still in his room/cell, waiting for the crew of the trader vessel to decide whether to take him on as their newest crew member or not. He really didn't understand the hold up; hadn't he surrendered to them, and happily sold out the raiders that he had been with? Back home, that would've made him a junior officer at the very least. It was always hard to figure some of the other races different customs, though. Thinking back, it hadn't been a very hard choice; the raiders had underestimated the strength of the vessel they attacked, and got w
  14. Nothing too crazy, just some more barrels and crates I finished up the other day. I've been in a bit of a slump (real life has been a woof lately) so I needed to do something quick and easy that didn't really require much thought. Thanks for looking.
  15. Lithia surveyed her surroundings warily; the battle for this ship wasn't over yet. Thanks to the warning from that ELz-1 protection unit that their unusual passenger had, they were aware of the raiders almost as soon as they struck. The rest of the ship's security and crew had broken up into small groups to ferret out the attackers. Thanks to her background with the commandos, she was scouting ahead of the main group by herself, which was exactly how she liked it. I found this figure on the melt table at Reapercon; she was headless and had some damage to her back, but I liked the f
  16. Elpagg glanced over over the unconscious woman; she'd make an excellent prize to deliver to the cap'n. They would probably get a decent price for her at the slave markets of Nepo-7. Well, if she lived that long... The raider shook his head to clear his thoughts. Best to concentrate on right now, he thought, as he continued to loot her cabin. She had jewelry and some tech equipment that would bring in a nice pile of credits; all of this was haphazardly piled on the table as he continued going through the storage compartments of her cabin. Suddenly, he heard a slight noise come
  17. Welcome to the 6th round of the Box of Goodwill! You may have heard about the fabled 'Box of Goodwill'. Maybe you were involved last time, maybe you're new and would like to see what it's all about. Well, you're in the right place!! Read on: This is the official, soon to be patented sign up thread for round 6. 18. Ok, this isn't a New year's resolution ( I don't make those), but I have decided that I need to get over the "I'm not good enough" thing and try to push myself to paint all those figures that I've been saving for 'some day'. That day is NOW. I grabbed this figure during a Black Friday sale for something like 4 or 5 bucks. Depending on where you get it from, it's usually more like 30. It's 28mm scale, but it stands pretty tall; I'm guessing it's 54mm tall or thereabouts. I'll get a proper picture with Sir Forscale a little bit later on. I'd like you to help push me
  19. This is an old Grenadier Balrog that i recently rediscovered owning. I decided to go ahead and paint him up; he's only been waiting for....a while. Yeah, let's just leave it at that. No numbers... Anyway, I did my usual, hopefully decent tabletop paint job on him. I was stuck on his sword for a while; I really didn't know where to go with it. I finally decided to try to paint it up sorta resembling fire. If I'd been thinking before I started painting him, I would've tried sculpting some flames on the flat parts of the sword blade. Oh well, hindsight is always 20/20, right? I wa
  20. This is the wagon/cart from Nolzur's marvelous miniatures, by Wizkids. Nothing special, just a quick tabletop paint job.
  21. Bones1 rat swarm, done in a couple hours to kill time while my main project was drying. Tabletop level.
  22. Another Bones 1 figure; painted to a tabletop level. Let me know what you think. Thanks for looking!
  23. I speed painted these zombies probably a month ago, I just haven't been in the mood to take pictures or hobby since I finished 'em. Well, I had a pretty good day yesterday, and I think my mojo might be back, so you get some pictures. I think I spent about 7 hours on them as a group, and they're painted to a tabletop level. Thanks for looking.
