  1. WIP here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/72886-talaes-first-mini-contest-sde-herald-of-vulcanis/ This mini was painted for a the first paint competition at my FLGS. Everyone bought in for $10, received and painted the same mini and had the month of February to do it. No mods allowed. Roughly 60 competitors from what I understand. This is planned to be a monthly competition. It was my first competition and also my first serious attempt at a chibi mini. I would love feedback. Thanks!
  2. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1946588239/super-chibi-ace?ref=category_newest About this project Ready for some old school fighting game action, but on a board? Then you came to the right place, welcome to... Select your fighter! Round 1! FIGHT! Welcome to Super Chibi A.C.E., a limited edition game by MidKnight Heroes that pays homage to the old school 2d fighting games of old. You know the ones we're talking about, the games you would stand in line as a kid with your quarter on the machine for next game. The game that you would walk into the arcade
  3. Well because I Metalchaos has been posting his great paint work on these guys, I thought it was time to finish up a few more that I had started already. Bart was sitting there with his skin base coated. So I started working on his eyes and then threw down some paint to block in the shadow's of his skin. the start of another of too many WIP's:
  4. Season 1 : The Cursed Forest Introduction Color Quest is a brand new miniatures skirmish game based on Color Warz licence (see below). 6. This guy is my most recent WIP, the poison dragon from the Arcadia Quest: Inferno Kickstarter. He has two slight mods. First, I removed the chest spikes from the original model. Secondly, I converted the spikes on the dragon's left wrist into a chain. I couldn't make sense of what the original part was supposed to be, but some sort of shackle made better sense to me. In the process of working the claws, spikes, and horns to a white-green to neon green range and highlighting the green specks again and hitting them with a touch of yellow. The wings are also getting some blue shading and th
  7. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/combatzone-scenery/chibi-arenas-for-krosmaster-and-super-dungeon-expl?ref=category_newest We need your help to create 3D Arenas and scenery compatible with Chibi games like Krosmaster, Arcadia Quest and Super Dungeon Explore.
  8. I am presently working through the Chibi's from Reaper I have collected. This is the first to be completed in 2017. I present to you TUT #01546. I need to get better at eyes though especially for these Chibi's.. any suggestions, guidance or critique would be appreciated.
  9. I sent off these Samurai for Chibi Paint Swap #07. The picture was taken by my 'target' who obviously has better photo equipment than I do.
  10. This is the start of my three samurai project for Chibi Paint Swap #07. I wanted to experiment with a largely monochrome technique. This guy is mostly the yellow you can see in his mask with different mixes of black and white for most of the rest of the model. The exceptions are the brown of the wood and the purple for some ghostly effects and washes and for accent colors. It has at least been fun to play with. Still a WIP. Helpful critiques are welcome.
  11. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/coolminiornot/masmorra-dungeons-of-arcadia Masmorra is the dungeon underneath the great city of Arcadia, which was used as a testing ground for prospective Guild Heroes. But since the warlock Malaphyas took it over, filling it with his monstrous minions, it's become a real challenge, beckoning the Heroes to brave its treacherous corridors in search of fame and fortune! Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia is set in the Arcadia Quest universe, but is in fact a completely new and different game. In it, 2 to 5 players each control a single Hero, com

  13. Chibi figure I picked out of the Box of Goodwill last year. It took me a long time to get the color combinations right. I took the "Painting Chibis" class at Reapercon and it all suddenly came together once I got home.
  14. Here's a boss from Super Dungeon Explore. I split my set with my wife, and I was really surprised that I got to paint this one (she got Jack, so it isn't like I always get the best ones). I decided to go with a fairly limited color scheme for her. I don't remember why exactly, but I really did enjoy the pink pumpkin. Here she is.
  15. My biggest mistake with this WIP so far is failing to notice that there is a significant piece missing from her back. I don't have a spare, so I will have to sculpt something on and paint it up as well. I will need to post up updated pictures of this one and other active WIPs I have. Probably about 10 projects in progress on my painting bench.
  16. There's something about Chibi miniatures that makes me want to create fan art out of them. Fan art for many things- Kingdom Death, Siege of the Citadel, Final Fantasy, Borderlands- the list seems to go on and on. So it shouldn't come as a surprise when I want to create characters from one of my four year old's favorite book series- The Princess in Black. She's a princess who is secretly a super hero who fights monsters with her ninja skills (I really love these books) For those interested, here's what she looks like in the books:

  18. These are some trolls from Super Dungeon Explore (the Mistmourn Coast Warband). As with most of my own Super Dungeon set, I painted each one in its own color scheme. The yellow troll colors I chose because they match the trolls from Fantasy Forest. Fantasy Forest is an old TSR game I played when I was five- it is basically like Candy Land except that you get ambushed by orcs and kobolds along the way. The spawn point was just perfectly designed for an OSL effect, so I had to go that direction with it:
  19. Super Chibi Round 2 by MidKnight Heroes is now live on Kickstarter. This time, we have 4 new Sci-Fi/Modern Chibis to fund. We also have 4 new and cool stretch goals planned that fit in that theme as well. Stop by and take a look. A;so feel free to drop us a line with any question and we will get back to you asap. Kickstarter link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1946588239/super-chibi-round-2 So who are the characters we have planned this time? Takata: The Cynobi Assassin The rest of the characters are still in the sculpting phase and as soon as we get an update we
  20. Yup after that comment in one of my other WIP's I couldn't stop myself from starting a new WIP. I had this sitting on my queue for a bit now. Since I've been working on the Zombicide Walkers so much lately I had to try my hand at a different model of zombie. I decided on Bonesylvanian Barb. The eyes were my first step. After posting I realized what was bothering me about them. The light isn't in the same angle on both sides. Doh! Also all was going well with using the same colors as my other zombies, when I decided to drift from the previous method by adding a glaze to add color. I trie
  21. WIP of Prince Aaron. This makes at least 5 projects open on my WIP bench. I was trying to use the fair skin triad as a base to work from for his skin tones, but I'm really not happy with it. I may have to do more work on the face. Open to all helpful criticisms/comments. I am calling the cloth and eyes finished. Most of the other elements are still WIP (sword, shoulders, mail, boots, crown).
  22. Schmetterling WIP Two steps visible here. Original base coats of color with some shading and then working up with more highlights and finer details. I need to use a dedicated camera and lighting setup. Pretty sure my iphone camera has damage to the lens and the poor lighting is obscuring details. Sorry about that.
  23. Spike from Arcadia Quest. Shows progress from when I started painting these figures two years ago.
  24. Monkey King with color blocking and some dark-lining. The blue and red will be brought out brighter again with the plated armor on the front being lined out more clearly. A lot of details and work to be done on the hair and face.
