Hello everyone, Some of you already know my Roza Shanina build (Check here ->Let's present ... Roza Shanina<-) and my Russian tank commander and tank rider build (Check here ->Painting female Soviet tank commanders and tank riders<-) and some might have noticed the little glimpse of what I was working on at the headswap topic (check ->here<-). But now it is time to present the project as a whole. Whoever is interested in the background of the project might find an answer in this post ->here<- So, let's get started. As at the the time I started the project my sculpting skills were far inferior to what I am able to do today, I needed some plain surface for sculpting female attributes onto the body. Luckily Warlord Games had just released a number of Soviet Russians in winter clothing, so I took the opportunity to get me a box of them and started working. Unfortunately the heads I wanted to use were unavailable so I began working on the bodies alone. Not a problem for me. I am running around headless most of my time, so I know what I am doing. After having cut out and cleaned the bases, it was time to go onto the bodies. Using some greenstuff it was rather easy to make males into females. And luckily there are a lot of reference pictures of real female soldiers in WWII. Yeah - well. Those who know me know that I normally reject reality and substitute my own. Therefore - mixed real and anime approaches to make the girls visually appealing on a greater distance. Time to dry!

Have painted up some half orcs. They are from Mark Copplestone, who made them for Grenadier Games many years ago. They are still in print from 2 or 3 different small sellers. I used Vallejo leather brown Air primer (with a brush though) and Army Painter Strong tone. This covered the whole mini and made the process of highlighting and building up the base coats much quicker.

Just need to base and do final highlights on this mini. I brought it from a great small company called Battlezone miniatures, they have the rights and moulds for a load of old Grenadier miniatures. Mark Copplestone is probably my favourite sculptor so pleased that these adventurer minis are still in print. I also love the cheating/sense of achievement when you paint a figure in plate armour. This one was standard drybrush over black, blue ink wash, lighter silver tone dry brush.

Getting back to painting and decided to work through some Ethiopian horsemen. So far I have some horses. Models are either Somali horsemen from Copplestone or Ethiopian horsemen from Castaway. Not included are a couple horses for the leaders. I'll try some fancier saddle blankets on them and do them along with the riders. Also the grey horse if for the Penne di Falco but hit away in a box when it should have been on my desk getting painted.

I got the Reindeer during last year's 12 Days of Reaper and I looked in the Special Edition figure listing and couldn't find it listed, so don't have a stock number. I recently finished it after several months of sitting on my painting table, half finished. I also painted up the Copplestone Lovely Assistant figure this past week, as I've started queuing up some of my Christmas themed figures for some seasonal painting projects the next couple months.

This is a set of minis I did for a Yaktribe thing. The girl is from Copplestone Castings. Babes with Guns. The male is a ganger from Moonraker miniatures. And the dog is a Horror Hound from the Harwood Hobbies Sinbad line.: Closeups: The pipes in the background are made from some plastic tubes from the local hobby store.

As soon as I saw the multipart plastic kit, I knew "Frostgrave" was another game I'd have to check out. Having recently finished some of the pieces that came with my "Nickstarter" order, I knew I'd made the right choice. I haven't quite decided how I wanted the bases to be (especially since the metal guys can't stand up right on their own), so they're just stained grey for the moment. First off, we have the metals, including the Apothecary, Enchanter Apprentice, Barbarian, and Santa Claus (or maybe an Enchanter Wizard, it's hard to tell)
