  1. Clearing out some old photos from a Beastfolk shoot. Do birds count as Beasts? It depends if you mean Animals, or Mammals; the connotations vary. But what doesn't vary is that these little crowfellas are hella rad! Look at those beady eyes, corvid beaks, samurai armor! I tried to give the rogue's feathers a blue-green shimmer and the fighter a purple sheen using drybrushed metallics. They're very detailed sculpts but still painter-friendly. A bit shorter than the average Reaper human but a bit taller than the average Reaper dwarf; seen here with O-Sayumi (60191). Hope you enjoy; I sure did!
  2. First Reaper minis I've painted! Pretty proud of how the spider turned out! I tried to get an iridescent look on the crow, but I couldn't quite figure it out 😅 Constructive critiques welcome!
  3. In keeping with the month that hosts Halloween, I painted up some familiars! Very simply done, starting with grey liner, nightmare black (a little extra purple for the cat) and heraldic red for the eyes (cat and raven) & mouth (bat). Drop of linen white for the cat's eyes, and a drop of dragon gold for her forehead. Still need to clean up the bases a bit. Otherwise done!
  4. Started Magda at ReaperCon and finished her the other evening after my son went to sleep. I'm thankful I got two of her as part of his Kickstarter because this piece overall lends itself to lots of different ideas and versatility. I made the flat metal surface of her ring an actual jewel. There's a line on the right side of her cheek which I think is an accidental nip from when I was tossing highlights on the hair; it's hard to see with the naked eye so I'm not going to fuss with it.
  5. Here is the Vampire Queen herself. She has a Magic Sword guarded by her Crow familiar. Her faithful undead servant lights the way. I tried a bit of OSL on the servant, my first try. I don't think it worked out that well, but you gotta try right? The familiar and sword are from Reaper, pack X. The Vampire and Servant are from the Freebooter range, sculpted by Werner Klocke. Sorry about the quality of some pics, still struggling with the camera.
  6. Here's my grim Captain Razig with his Crow familiar. This model was sculpted by Werner Klocke. It's my entry for the winter 2013 painting excuse in the single figure category. Comments are very welcome!
