When I saw this guy in the Dark Sword Miniatures store, I had to have him. Some of my favorite computer games are the Prince of Persia ones and I was definetly getting a Prince of Persia vibe off this guy. When I was looking at concept art from the games I found that the 2009 version of the Prince was perfect inspiration. So I pulled the colors of the scarves, the color of the pants, and the basing from some of the pictures I found. One element of this guy that I love is what I did with the scabbards. They were originally brown but they blended too much with the leather. So I decided to try some freehand wraps to match the ones on his legs and bring the base colors onto the mini. I still cannot believe they turned out this well. He was my entry in the Fantasy Single category at Gateway this past weekend where he got first place. Any input would be appreciated.

With my summer exchange mini 99.99% done, it is time to start on some personal projects. On my work table are two competition entries as well as the start of my Infinity Bakunin Nomad squad. On the two competition entries, I mainly have done base construction. The first base is for a male assassin from Dark Sword. In my mind I have pictured palace/temple ruins in the desert. Why this? Well, the miniature reminds me of this guy: And so, he will be my inspiration for this piece. The big base is for someone special and is still missing elements. Here is where it stands now: It will be a jungle themed base and the hollowed out area is for a resin pour to make a pound/creek. There will be some more rocks/faces/columns on the other side once the minis base is attached. That will be in awhile as I want to do the resin pour before completing any other area of the base in case i have to scrap it. Who is deserving of this base you ask? None other than Narthrax. Lastly we have the beginnings of my Infinity squad, who are just assembled, based, and primed. They will be tabletop quality but if I really like how they turn out I may also enter them in the competition. I know they are just bare bones now, but any input would be appreciated.
