  1. So I went in on a Kickstarter a while ago (I know, shocking, right?) that Dark Sword did for their Critter Kingdoms line of anthropomorphic figs. I was mostly in it for the bunnies, but it got three cats in with all the other goodness. I was thinking of painting something for my wife, and thought of doing up those cats styled after our cats (I'll need to order a 4th cat fig from Dark Sword at some point). Looked at the figures I had, and the Paladin definitely would have to get painted up as Marty. (I might as well, not continue, everything after cute cat pic will likely be ignored.....ah well). So this is what I was able to come up with. Sorry the pics aren't lit as well as I'd like; I've got a lamp out of commission. Tomorrow is my wife's birthday, so we'll see how she like it then.
  2. This was one of my diorama entries at ReaperCon 2016. The idea came to me while watching Once Upon a Time and seeing the "Troll" bridge. This bridge is a toll bridge in Storybrooke that someone renamed Troll Bridge. I was then looking at Dark Sword's Critter Kingdoms Anthropomorphic line and came across the Horned Toad Assassin and thus the Toad Bridge came to be. It was originally going to be a larger piece with a troop of three or four facing off against the toad but it would have taken up most of my carrying case. So it got shrunk down and became just the cat against the Toad. The name also evolved into "Contention of Ownership." "Contention of Ownership" Silver, Diorama, ReaperCon 2016
  3. Posting this now while I think of it, but it could be a little bit before I get started; I was prepping a bunch of minis yesterday.... I noticed that Dark Sword had a few cats in their Critter Kingdoms KS (I was there for the bunnies....). Decided I would paint them up as our cats for my wife (shhhh, its a surprise). I have three figs so far, so will need to order another at some point, since we have four cats. But to start with, I'm going to paint Nom - Cat Paladin (DSM8079): as the fearless leader of our band of cats, Marty: Should be interesting trying to get both the colours and patterns right. Luckily the fig is heavily armored so I only need to worry about the face and tail.
  4. NOM The Russian Blue Cat Paladin stepped into the garden to commune with his god for a few minutes, with the hope that he might, in turn, be blessed with a mouse from on high ! Here he is standing quietly in the garden. Total delight to paint. I had to make him a Russian Blue Cat, I thought it would be a lot of fun to do, and it was. The more I messed around with this one, the more I enjoyed it. The flowers on the base were a hoot to do, I went into flower by flower and leaf by leaf mode as I got into it. Gave me the splash of color I was looking for. Your comments and Critiques are greatly appreciated and solicited. Please let me know what you think of my effort with Nom, The Russian Blue Paladin"...
