Here are some of the figures I painted in July. Here is Lonnia, female duelist. DHL #2981. Here is Edmund DuMond. DHL #2775. With his puffy shirt, he looked like a landsknecht to me. And here is Evalyn, female duelist. DHL #2801. And finally, Maria Roseblade. DHL #2645.

I think this may be one of the cutest minis I have ever painted. This doxy is by @Rainbow Sculptor and she is so cute! Look at that face. She wouldn't hurt anyone! I wanted to try and do a beaded coin purse. I think it came out ok. I painted this little lady all in one sitting, she was a joy! Maybe that should be her name! Haha!

Hi everyone, some of you may have recently seen this guy lurking in the shadow of an alley. 07004, Stitch Thimbletoe the Halfling Thief sculpted by Bobby Jackson. I painted it with Reaper’s MSP acrylics and shaded with Citadel inks. I use Vallejo Acrylic Matt Varnish and the base is 3d printed.

These are the Deep Gnome Heroes. I love these minis! Their sculpts are so full of personality! I think the girl gnome may have the best face I have painted thus far!

Good day everyone. Here is 77293, Wererat Berserker a Dark Heaven Bones model sculpted by Jason Wiebe. I cut off some of the original plastic base and used it to change the model's posture. I like the dinumic pose of this malicious evil doer.

Dug up an old mini by Sandra Garrity, which, according to my database, I bought over 10 years ago. I don’t know which is sadder, that I actually made a database of my unpainted minis or that I still have 188 unpainted ones (and these are just the Reaper ones!). Wanted to give her a roguishly, confident face and I’m pleased with how it turned out. As for her clothes, after reading Rhonda Bender’s articles, I think I need more contrast. Base made from air-dry clay. Thanks for looking.

Unfortunate Cadwalon, plague infected, denizen of the sewers. Like a rat able to disappear under the rubble, without a trace. Unfortunate Cadwalon, poison merchant, burglar and opportunistic trickster. Those who know him are aware of his impulsivity and fear enchanted blade. Those who disregard him will pay bitterly for their negligence. Here's 02044, Cadwalon in all its magnificence , Dark Heaven Legends sculpted by Sandra Garrity.

A rotting stench catches you nose. You see a creature slowly moving in your direction waving a dagger. At first, it looks like a beggar wearing rags. He utters a low moan and you realize as it's coming out of the shadows that he's missing part of its scalp and has a gaping hole in its abdomen through which you see his ribs and his petrified organs. Turning to the cleric, you scream with horror. Zombie! Here's 02102, Plague Zombie, Dark Heaven Legends sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. It's the second time i paint this model, here's the link to 02043: Undead Rising, 02102: Plague Zombie & 02157: Undead Awakening I painted 10 years ago.

Had an extra one of these lying about, and decided to experiment with a limited palette. Here’s how she turned out: Front Back Main colors used were MSP Woodland Brown, Brilliant Green, Scholar Flesh, and Yellowed Bone (and it’s triad). Not completely happy with her skin tones, I tried everything up to Moth Green trying to get a light tone that still read as green. Wound up using one of the darkest greens I have, go figure. Shaded by gradually dropping the flesh tone until it was straight green, but it turned out to be a rather extreme color shift. I like how the base and tree trunk came out, however. The ground shade was achieved by throwing some blues and yellows together until they stopped being bad and then painting some gray on the rocks. All in all, I think it turned out all right for just messing around. Definitely something to practice in the future. Comments, critiques, and suggestions appreciated.

Good morning, so here's my last little painted piece of happiness, another Hackmaster figure that Ral Partha has gotten a hold of, a human thief. I actually kind of have begun liking these figures quite a lot, as they feel like prototypes of their classes so often, kind of generic, but very nicely done in that old school feel. I wanted dark colors for this one, but didn't want just black, so hopefully gave him a bit of variety with the colors.

Opened this one up and got it primed when I noticed a very significant case of mold-slippage. The details on her right side and left arm just didn’t line up, and I don’t have the skill to file/green stuff it away. So, rather than weep and save the mini for a melt table, she became practice! This ended up being a combination of speedpaint, demimetallic experimentation, and basing attempt, 3-4 hours total work including lots of futzing with paint mixes on my palette. The results: Oh, and I made her a Dark Elf to try more white hair. The purple metal is Royal Purple and Filigree Silver, mixed in varying degrees. Other metallics tended to un-purple the mix too much (except New Gold, but that’s a different look). I think she’s supposed to have gauntlets, but due to the casting issues these became cloth sleeves. In the end she turned out far better than expected, so I’m glad I didn’t give up. One less potential resident of the shelf of shame. Comments and critiques welcome, as always.

Hello all, just finished another Ral Partha Hackmaster figure, this time a male dwarf thief, dagger in one hand and crossbow in the other. It's another figure sculpted by the prolific Jim Johnson back in about 2003. For this one, I wanted darker colors, but really the hardest part on him was deciding the line at the edges of his leather jerkin. I had considered red and gold, but then for some reason purple ended up being the color I went with. Enjoy!

I painted Xanthia from Hasslefree and am super happy with how she came out. I wanted to go with a dark skin tone. I used Reaper clears as glazes. I used Clear Purple to glaze in the shadows, clear red over the midtones and clear yellow on the highlights. It added a lot of depth and realism to her skin (I think so anyway). I wish I could post photos here but she is definitely not safe for work So if you click the links, be aware she is topless and only wearing a loin cloth for bottom coverage (which does little to cover her bottom). She might be the best mini I have painted so far. Definitely the best skin! NSFW photos in the links! Proceed with caution! Edit: updated the pictures to have a neutral background (suggested by Glitterwolf) and better lighting. Hey Guys! I'm pretty new to painting miniatures but I'm having a lot of fun with it. This is the first one that I feel really good about but I'd also love some feedback. Thanks!

Greetings! Just finished another Reaper 25th Anniversary mini, this time Eli Quicknight. I went with a dark gritty theme overall but with a flash of colour on his cloak. I used Reaper Master Series Triad 09701: Blood Colors for this - really happy with how they went on & the overall finish. Thanks for looking! (4 Down, 8 to go!)

The last of the adventurers painted for my Dragon's Don't Share 2 set is the rogue. I wanted her to be wearing dark clothing and armor but not necessarily black. Cue Nightshade Purple! All of her clothes have Nightshade Purple either as the base or mixed in with other colors. Even her blades have a little NP mixed into the shadows and glazed over. I also gave her a bottle of poison which she has coated the tip of her dagger with. I didn't notice the squashed skeleton on her base until I started painting it. Fun little detail! C&C welcome!

This Orc is ready to go on a chopping spree. He is all dressed up in his best armor with his new loincloth, and he's brought his Big Chopper! Disclaimer: new sealant was unexpectedly gloss, so I am stuck with glossy finish until replacement matte sealant arrives... :-/

Another hobo bugbear who can't afford pants. I'm sure he could trade in those shiny bracelets for a whole wardrobe but I guess he doesn't give a crap. Next up on my Otherworld tour: gnolls.

I love the look of this classic thief. Sack of treasure, sneaking along, cliché mustache. Big fan.

Hey there Reaper pips! Just finished painting a dual wielding rouge/thief. Critiques to help me improve are most welcome. Thanks in advance.

I painted my first "Bailey Silverbell" Reaper miniature in 2012. I painted another version in between projects over the last few months and gave her a Little Red Riding Hood theme. I loved this Reaper mini back then and I still love it now-- only this time I was able to try my hand at a few more techniques I've learned, including some NMM. If you haven't painted a "then & now" miniature, I hope you try it sometime. It's truly rewarding to see your improvement over the years!

I was searching about for a fourth mini to slap some paint on for the RPChallenge this month and came across this guy in the beauty pageant thread. "He's a really neat sculpt," I thought. "I bet I could do some really kick-elf lighting effects with his lure." The banded mail greens are various blends of 29846 Spruce Green and some other assorted greens and yellows, which is a really fantastic nigh-turquoise color. Glazing a purple over it gives you a rather neat effect. A lot of the fishy-color is 29811 Turf Green, because why not? I have these Bones II colors sitting out, I might as well try them. I'm not as much a fan of turf green yet but I'm sure I'll find something for it eventually. Until then it's sort of a muddy green, the kind I often make by accident. I didn't get the contrast high enough to really pull off the OSL I was hoping, at least not in photos. (It's a little more apparent in person, where you can spin him around, but that doesn't mean I got the contrast right.) I also made the absolutely hilarious mistake of not looking at the official Reaper paint job, so I had no idea that thing in his mouth was actually a face. Oh well! It's a tongue now. The most hideous tongue the world has ever known.
