  1. Hi everyone! This week, I completed DSM8023 the Fox Mage "Alchemist" from Dark Sword Miniatures, Critter Kingdoms - Anthropomorphic Animals. This 28mm pewter model was sculpted by Dave Summers. I painted him as a white arctic fox and used ink and acrylics for the OSL. Again, it was a fun model to paint, full of accessories and a lot of room to play with colors.
  2. I'll just say Yay it is great to be back. I thought that I would never get to paint again. Start, stop, Illness, has been a nasty pattern going on. I finally (knock knock) got the bugs knocked away. I thought he was finished weeks ago, I was wrong and finally I came to a conclusion after I redid his base. So he's done. Like the rock base he has on him, and the the little accent marks. Friends have been picking him up and asking where I got the patience from...I've just been laughing. So after a great deal of time, Here is the Mouse Bard. Let me know what your thought. Jay
  3. I have been working on this mini for over a week. Glue-up was a pain in the elf. I am working on solving that problem. It is finally pinned, primed, and covered with bown liner. I tend to use the brown liner as a discovery process. I find all the little interesting details in the miniature with that brown liner. The little leather pouch on his belt, has a cats face carved into it. I will try to find some way to display that. I tend towards being photo heavy, and I will try to document what I am doing (If I know). I have no idea what direction this mouse is going to go, except that right now he has pink ears, and will probably be a gray mouse. Once I get painting, all bets are off, I don't use anyone else's painting to copy, and I mix my own colors. So here I begin to paint the Mouse Warrior. Note that most of the broccoli base has been removed. I left the area around the tail, since it is to fragile to survive without the support. Edited to add: Please note that above You see a line of buttons (TAGS) that tell you about the mini. If you click on Jasonator it will do a search and post a link to every miniature I have in the WIP's and Show Off section. I recommend that EVERYONE uses this feature. Folks can see your previous work, and YOU can find what you did. It takes just a second to do, but benefits are amazing.
  4. This miniature started out with a totally different color scheme and then took off on its own. She is far from the black robes that I originally thought she would have ! To say I had fun would be an understatement ! Your Comments and criticism are welcomed and greatly desired. Magda dropped down and landed at the agreed upon meet up point. She scanned the skies waiting for her friends to appear, and then to travel together to the witches gathering.
  5. I know it is hard to imagine that I am NOT doing another Meier 25mm Sculpt ! Thought I would switch out and doing something different since Sir Kay and Galahad, They were fun, but this time, I'm going for added enjoyment, and color. He's been primed, and coated with liner, and I have started on his skin tones, I am digging the face, I really enjoy when a miniature starts "Right".. I'm happy with it already. Always a good sign. So, here is the Male Elf Ranger W/Bow. oh..Robinh, No Orange on this one ! ROFL.
  6. This is the last of the Frog Series that I have to work on. I have NO idea what direction I will go in on this one. He just looks hysterical, and a fun Sculpt from my favorite sculptors Tom Meier. It is 28mm, not his normal 25mm. So I'll just begin painting him up. I intend to have a blast along the way, no matter how long it takes.
