  1. Whoever this guy is, he has a penchant for melodrama! I give you Darkrasp Death Priest:
  2. DARKRASP Evil Priest ( Reaper Bones -SKU: 77151) He is a Necromancer in my Children of the Night Project. WIP Here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79298-children-of-the-night-by-glitterwolf/ ******************* Practicing magic is one thing but only the most twisted and deranged minds would dabble in necromancy. Who in their right mind would try to summon the dead to serve them? And yet.... ******************
  3. I have some vague plans involving some Red Wizards of Thay in a future D&D game, so thought I'd get some painted in preparation. This is the first, which I'm very pleased with. The face was done mostly with the Tanned Skin triad, with some extra shadow achieved by mixing in blue liner. The beard was Grey Liner plus Rainy Grey, with increasing amounts of Pure White mixed in for the highlights. Similar for the chains, though they got a blue liner coat. Robes were a Spattered Crimson base coat over Brown Liner, with Nightshade Purple shadows, and Gory Red mixed with increasing amounts of orange and/or yellow for the highlights. The scythe handle and scroll bone were mostly Bone triad, with a brown wash and some shading with Woodstain Brown. The blade was mostly Pure Black, Rainy Grey and Pure White, with some Blue Liner mixed in. The scroll got a Polished Bone base coat, with some thin streaks of various light browns, Brown Liner for the glyphs, and a brown wash over the whole thing. This is probably one of the best paint jobs I've done, and certainly the best face to date
  4. When I had first seen the Darkrasp figure, back when my Bones 1 Kickstarter had arrived, something about its appearance read "Santa Claus" to me; especially with the long "list" he holds in his left hand, obviously containing the names of those who'd been naughty. And I had the thought of some day converting it into a Santa Claus figure. Well, with the onset of my Frostgrave addiction, that day finally rolled around; as I decided I wanted to make a Santa themed warband, and I selected this fellow to lead it. And, given the season of the year, it seemed the perfect time to paint him. I had to make some changes to the figure to move him a little closer to Santa, and a little further from Evil Priest. I began by cutting off the blade and skull top of his scythe, turning it into more of a wizard's staff. I then glued a small piece of lead shot to the end to make it resemble a stylized "North Pole". Next, I cut the bone-like ends off of the roll his scroll is wrapped around. Lastly, I took some Tacky glue and layered it onto the front of the scroll in an effort to lessen the appearance of the runes that are carved into it, as my plan was to list "naughty" names on it. As always, C & C welcome. Full painting write-up on my blog: http://allbonesabout.blogspot.com/2015/12/death-priest-to-santa-claus-conversion.html
  5. I didn't paint my Bones for a long time. I started yesterday with Danar and will hopefully post more Bones soon. 77030: Danar, Male Assassin
  6. When she's not completely swamped on her Masters of Fine Art degree, my fiancée quite likes to paint with me. Indeed, part of my Bones II order (the hill giants) were specifically for her. Here are some figures that she started a year or so back, and finished just recently. My apologies - as I didn't paint them myself, and they were started so long ago, I can't work out what colors she's used where. 77049: Arthrand Nightblade She's not quite got the techniques for working up detail on faces yet, but I adore the freehand on his cloak (even if she is addicted to metallics for details : ) 77054: Galladon I love the beard here, and the colors on the clothing layers, 77075: Khael Stonekindle I also like the beard on this figure, and the face is really done well especially compared to the earlier attempt on Arthand. 77151: Darkrasp The colors used here work really well for me.
  7. i volunteered to paint up a replacement for Sanael's summer exchange
