Finished this one a couple weeks ago. I think it worked out really well. It's one of my favorite Grenadier dragons I've painted so far. Not just the paint work I did, but the sculpt too. Pretty simple color palette with a B&W underpaint.

This the “Knoll Totem” from Grenadier’s Dragon Lords “Encounter at Blood Valley” boxed set, circa 1987. I was gifted the set by a childhood friend a few years ago. He had painted several pieces of the set. I figured it was time to complete the rest. Interesting that they chose to spell it “Knoll” instead of the usual “Gnoll”. Not sure if it was intentional or some confusion by the publisher.

This the bonus figure that came in Grenadier Dragon Lords 9602 Red Dragon II, circa 1989. See my work on the Dragon here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/82205-grenadier-9602-red-dragon-ii/ This guy mimics the dragon’s colors, but not very well. Overall a pretty plain mini. Im terrible with reds. Damned colorblindness...

Ready to protect the temple! (I don't know which temple, but they're protecting it.) My three favorites are the archer, the crossbowman, and the guy with the big mace.

Some old school orcs painted up with the old school inspiration of things like classic AD&D art and The Hobbit cartoon from the '70s. Had a lot of fun with these guys because of their character. Pic heavy one today as the camera was refusing to focus well on groups for some reason. I like this guy because he looks nervous. This guy is one of my favorites because of his dynamic pose.

Pulled out one of the many in my old school collection and finally painted it up. Part of my New Year's resolution which is to not buy any new minis this year and paint what I already own, some of which goes back 30+ years. At some point I may put together a resolution WIP thread to help me stay focused. Mixed up somewhere in the depths of my cases are the people that came with this beast and someday maybe I'll get to them. If I can find them and all their parts!

This fountain is from Grenadier's Dragon Lords range: "Encounter at the Forest of Elvenwold" box set, circa 1982. I've cleaned, pinned, and primed it.

Walked into an FLGS and am currently standing in front of this: I don't know what to do: they've got a bunch of the old ChaosWars dragons too. Prices seem to range between 35-45 Canadian. Is that what these are typically going for? Edit. O geese They've got the old Julie Guthrie dueling Dragons set by Chaoswars too.

Starting to catch up with pictures, again. First up are a couple old Grenadier baddies I painted just to use up some paint/knock stuff out of the way. The Lizzard Man 1 is from the 2010 Horrors of the Marsh set in the Dragon Lords line, sculpted I've read by John Dennett. I think he's actually a pretty cool sculpt. Different, anyway. I got him from a lot on Ebay; actually rather wish I had the other two Lizzard Men in the set, too. But, anyway. I didn't do a lot with him, just kept it simple. The Yeti is from the 5002 Monsters set . . . and kind of a poor sculpt. The legs and feet, especially, were completely different sizes. He became a victim of my trying out some off-brand "matte" sealer; the shininess is obviously deplorable. Eh. As always, photo problems. Though I found for whatever reason I got better photos if I shot partly off the white paper background. No clue why, but yeah. So started doing that. Thanks for looking! If you have input, I'm totally open to it, though these were pretty basic phone-it-ins, even for me.
