  1. Practicing different techniques for the Dragon challenge..
  2. This is an open thread for our 2013 Dragon Painting Extravaganza! I started Cinder back when...um...she was released. Yeah, shelf of super shame. Here's what I've got so far. I may strip her on account of I started painting her when I had no light, so now her paint looks super thick, but at least you get an idea of the plan. Ok, feel free to join in!
  3. Hi everyone, I just started working on this beautiful model. Leorelex was sculpted by Geoff Valley and was released in 2004. For now, I only started working on the putty base. I want to make it look like it's an eroded sea shore. I'm mixed between sculpting waves or using realistic water effect. Should I sculpt green stuff waves like I did for my Karkarius or Scuttlebones, or should I try using realistic water to creats a more transparent aspect?
  4. Out of the past, one of the ancient dragons from heritage. this one came to me with a missing tail and frill and some "interesting" solder work on the chest. The tail and frill are my own creation with green stuff and magicsculpt. I am still working on my photography and this is just off my bench so the veining in the wings is actually much redder than the picture would show. This little monster weighs about 5 pounds. Enjoy and of course, comments are always welcome
  5. Hi folks! Finally finished Kaladrax reborn!!!! If you have seen Kaladrax in the shop you will know that he is in fact a drcolich or skeletal dragon. Having already completed a Ral Partha dracolich I decided to try and reconstruct Kaladrax in life. This thread shows the development of the sculpt and below is him finished. http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/showthread.php?37982-Resurrection-of-a-dragon I went for a very naturalistic colourscheme like that of a crocodile. To be honest he looks better IRL than in these piccies. I think I overworked it slightly and perhaps my paints are rather past it so I will have to invest in some new ones before I start on Cang! Overall I think my sculpt is much more successful than my last attempt (the Treasure Dragon). However, I have had a slight problem with the weight of the wings which means his right back leg is slightly cracked. Hoping that the arm resting on the base will prevent further shifting but that remains to be seen. :/. Also the left wing limb is significantly thicker than the right, in part I think due to the underlying bone structure and a few areas in the scuplting were not as well defined as they could have been. The base is made of supersculpy and decorated with various Woodland scenics products and a few bits of dried plant.
