  1. So this is my take at painting Na'Kaat My firend uses this mini as a pc in our dnd campaign. The axe that comes with the mini felt too small to her so I swapped it with the two handed axe from 03197: Thelgar Halfblood, Half Orc Barbarian. All in all this was one was nice to paint and is really nice to look at after Hope you like it too!
  2. This is my second entry into the Reaper Facebook Convert and Paint contest. I wanted to do this one because I love doing dragonman (dragonborn) conversions. There just aren't enough kinds of dragonmen to model for various character classes. And I'm glad that the catfolk minis came out within the last year because when I think about dragonmen, I like to see their clawed hands and feet, so it makes them great for such a conversion in my eyes. These were the minis used for parts, including pieces from the dragonman conversion kit: 03457. Poor Shadoweyes got her
  3. Here are a pair of Dragonborn I've painted up for my DND game. 77060: Dragonman Warrior is a cleric in my game for a good deity; used the Bones 3 weapons to do a weapon swap for a mace and then snipped off a pair of sharp corners from the removed sword to give the mace a pair of sharp prongs along the top. 77214: Kar Drakir is the arch nemesis of the cleric above; his mace has the soul of a trapped vampire lord contained within the wood used for the head of the weapon and literally drains the life from characters to then perform special abilities (mimicking a vampire
  4. Next up in the series of minis I painted for my gaming friends' birthdays: A Copper Dragonborn Druid. Really digging the way his green robes look next to the glistening copper scales! Also, used the NMM Copper Verdigris paint for his eyes.
  5. I whipped this guy up on Heroforge, modded, printed, and painted him today. I had been looking for a good dragonborn/dragonman/reptus/etc but have been left wanting. This guy is a silver dragonborn cleric, death domain, follower of Tiamat (I know, non-chromatic) for a 5E campaign. I'm happy with how he turned out considering I was shooting for table quality.
  6. Hi Guys, This one took a little while but I had a lot of fun doing it. The original mini had the figure standing on its tail awkwardly so that it was positioned mid air. I decided to make a base for it so that it wouldn't look like it was using its tail to do a jump attack. The column that the figure is standing on is made of an eraser. I used a knife to cut it into a basic rectangular prism shape. I then sliced off the corners at a 45 degree angle and glued them back onto the prism so that it made a column shape. I then proceeded use a scalpel to cut out the groves in the
  7. Just a few figures from the latest wave of Wizkid's Dungeons & Dragons: Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures line. I think the line has improved a lot. For whatever reason, my phone didn't want to focus on the thin Dragonborn faces. The only non-Dragonborn in the crew, a "Female Dwarf Barbarian". She seems a bit heavily armored for that role to me, but I was impressed with her design from the first render preview.
  8. So, I got SGHawkins for my Secret Sophie. She said she would be starting Curse of Strahd soon, so I made Strahd... Happy Vampire is Happy! Also, i did a couple "Spell Effects" like this Dancing Magma Sword! And a pair of the new WizKids unpainted minis. I chose the Dragonborn female Fighters set because Dragonborn are hard to find equivilents for outside the official minis and I wanted to try out painting a few of them for future referance. I really like the effect I made with the first's Fire Sword. The mini's Fire s
  9. So, one of my personal mini projects atm is working on some of the NPCs my players in my homebrew campaign are encountering. And one of my favorite groups in that world are the Hunts - a loose-bound organization of groups (each called a Hunt) of fighters/mercenaries/warriors, each with their own specialty, who dedicated themselves to maintaining the roads and paths of Fidel during the millenia-long anarchy of the Mortal Wars. Now, what makes the Hunts distinctive from any other mercenary bands? Well, they ride BADASS FLYING MOUNTS. Gryphons, for the most part, although one
  10. Here is my newest D&D character. There are very few Dragonborn minis so i had to work with what I found. This is Khalla the dragonborn bard. I think I may have a problem with choosing high charisma classes...
  11. I did a quick conversion for a player in an RPG game I am running. He wanted to play a Dragonborn paladin, and this was the closest mini to what he wanted. Before I painted it, I decided it needed the weapon swaps to match the character load-out and I also added on some plates to give him platemail. Fairly rough sculpting on my part, if you want to convert this guy, I recommend cutting off the arms at the shoulder-pads to give to access to do a good job. Anyhow, used green to highlight the black and spent only a couple hours painting him up. As he isn't sealed, it lo
  12. Here is the Dragonborn Sorceress from Oathsworn Miniatures for "Heroines in Sensible Shoes" Kickstarter as Mutilated, I mean Painted by me. I tried to make a kind of Burn Scar Effect and Failed dismally I admit. I do like how the Torch Flame came out though. And now that I think on it, I should have posted this in the Work in Progress section, too. GF
  13. Preparing for the Isle of Dread, I painted up a selection of Lizard Guys! A bunch are from Reaper, there's some Warhammer Lizardmen, and even Wrong-Eye from Hordes. There's no group shot for these, as there's a NSFW Bones Medusa in that one who wasn't as blocked by a Saurus as I thought she was when I was snapping away on the phone.
  14. The last member of the adventuring party joins my ninja http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/67660-rise-of-the-kage-ninja/and the trio of halflings http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/67771-oathsworn-halflings/ My brother is playing a green Dragonborn fighter. I had picked up the reptus warrior to make a paladin a while back, but that game never got off the ground so he was gathering dust. I had a lot of trouble with him, he has a lot of odd bits that I wasn't sure were scales or pieces of armour. I'm still not sure about some of them, they don't look like scales, but
  15. Was looking for some minis to break up a lot of the groups I have to paint now and decided to paint this not-dragonborn fellow. A player in my D&D campaign plays Dragonborns occasionally and he usually picks the golden one. He was using a mini I had painted as an NPC for Hoarde of the Dragon Queen (which was therefore a blue dragonborn) but I decided I could paint this guy to reflect the character he plays. Of course the curse of painting the mini is on me and now our group is indefinitely on hold. Anyways, enjoyed the verdigris effect of the shield, can't remember who posted the tutorial
  16. This is Ralshana, a Dragonborn Paladin serving the ideal of justice. This was done for a friend of mine to represent her character in our D&D 5th game. In truth, Ralshana uses a greatsword, but I couldn't find a halfdragon with one. Other than that, I think I captured the nature of the character. I am really pleased with how she came out, though my picture taking skills are somewhat lacking. I took great pains to highlight the scales of her body, as well as the scales on her armor. Some of that gets lost in the picture. I'm still learning about light diffusion and such. I hope you
  17. Hero Forge: Archetypes 1 & 2 - Paladin & Rogue - Casting Type: Strong Plastic - table quality. I was commissioned to paint these miniature for a D&D 5e game. They are a Dragonborn Paladin and a Gnome Rogue. I am going to tag this thread with another thread that has a WIP of another HF miniatures. My over all review of this thus far is not great. I don't want to bash another company but I am not impressed so far. The miniature absorbs the paint. No joke It takes it into the miniature. The following pictures take about 4 rounds of diluted paint to achieve the color.
  18. This cool dragon person was painted up to be our 5th Edition Vengeance Paladin, follower of the Storm Lord. The brown spots on her scales and skin are part of her back story, where her lineage is questionable and her mother was executed for infidelity. The character is not on good terms with her family....
  19. I recently modified and painted the 14225: Ra'am, Reptus Hero figure for use as a D&D 5e character. Character Inspiration: Race: White Dragonborn Class: Barbarian Background: Pirate Place of Origin: Luskan, City of Sails I did many modifications to represent this character. Base: is scratch-built from polystyrene to represent the gunwale of a Viking longboat. The water is sculpted milliput. The bag is a plastic piece from some 1:72 scale minitaure kit. The rope is a coil of Gale Force 9 product. Weapons: The sword is a reaper sword from a weapons blister can't remember which one.
  20. I am running Hoard of the Dragon Queen for my D&D players, and they faced off against Landerosa Cyanwrath, the half blue dragon warrior last session. I realized I didn't have a suitable mini so I speed painted a metal Reaper fig, the Gaan-Hor Warrior, to represent Cyanwrath. The Gaan-Hor is supposed to have wings but Cyanwrath doesn't have them so I did not attach the wings before painting him. I also had a new player join last session and he is going to play a silver dragonborn fighter. I used a prepainted mini for the first session but this weekend I painted up a Bones Dragonman Wa
  21. Here's the final pictures of my speed paint for the Dragonborn Paladin. He could be much better, but I really wanted to just speed-paint him and get him to table top quality without spending too much time on him. Anyhow, C&C welcomed and appreciated! Reaper SKU: 77060 - Dragonman Warrior Material: Bones WIP Thread
  22. This is my Dragonborn Warlord in my buddy's current DnD game. I went for copper dragon scales. This is my first attempt at oxidized copper touches, and at doing 'colored armor'.
