  1. Hello All, Here are photos of a Bones USA Dungeon Dwellers 07011 "Borin Ironbow, Dwarf Fighter" I completed a few weeks ago. Thank you for looking.
  2. The way of the Dawi-kin A goal of Acquiring every single Reaper Dwarf and painting em up. Master check list has been put together that will be updated with time. Any duplicate model will receive conversion using Reaper weapons. I like my check-off lists and achievement progress icons. Green box indicates the mini is owned, the picture next to model indicates that is has been painted. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Reaper, Dwarf Mancatcher, sku: 14463 Made this guy a Noblemen with bright colored clothes and golden glave. Reaper, King Axehelm of Kragmarr, 77478 Wanted a dirty worn look on this dwarf kind, and a high contrast in color scheme of white and red. Made a mistake on this one using wrong type of shade that made everything glossy, had to layer addition shades of different brand to take out the gloss. turned out a bit darker than planned. Reaper, Dwarven Brewmeister, 02559 Quite a strait forward model to paint. Did not want crazy colors for this guy. A variation of royal blue color scheme with gold patterns and closed eye lids could be interesting. The rest of the gang. Those mugs man, are like half the size of that poor little barrel. Wanted grouped colors of tans and browns to create tonal contrast instead of use of intense colors. These are quite easy to paint, good models. Reaper, Hagar, Dwarven Hero, 77482 Wanted to make Hagar and Durgam Deepmug into a two brother team of green-beards. Just leather, iron, and green. Reaper, Durgam Deepmug Dwarf Hero, 77400 The green-beard brother of Hagar. Rangers both, with green rune weapons Reaper, Dwarf Royal Weapomaster, 77574 There is nothing royal about this malicious looking guy. Went for high contrast red/white. I was thinking of possible conversions, I don't know, this is not the most interesting dwarf model they have for that. Reaper, Fulumbar, Dwarf Warrior, 77011 Gave him axe and a shield from reaper Weapon pack III Usually I do not go for bright colors, yet this warrior needed some frost armor! (too much terreria of late) Reaper, Fulumbar, Dwarf Warrior, 77011 The original model with a bit older paint job, or battle dirt paint job ;) But with TrueBlood effect paint from GreenStuff Reaper, Freja Fangbreaker , 77073 This is one of the cooler looking models, even though was a bit hard to paint. Older paint job, dirty, battle weathered. Went with Conan the Barbarian face paint. Reaper, Freja Fangbreaker , 77073 Same model with Weapon Pack III axe upgrade. Most recent paint job, cleaner with different paint scheme of bronze and green.
  3. Today's work, trying to take a bite out of my pile of shame.
  4. I started this guy out as a black and white “sketch style” piece, then added color by glazing with inks. Then I decided I wasn’t happy (even though it’s really just a quick study piece) and touched up the painting more conventionally. Still, a great exercise and a fun figure!
  5. Lately, I've been having a bit of trouble doing the fine detail work on my minis and it's actually been putting me off painting a bit (And I really don't need any more excuses not to paint!). To help me regain my mojo, I've set everything aside and dug out a "bigature" to work on:- My large scale Durgin Paint Forge Dwarf (Agrax Earthshade pot for scale). At this point he's been assembled and mostly undercoated (I'm waiting on a big base to attach his decorative base to before I work on it). Assembly went pretty well, although I'm not too happy about his shield, I've attached it in the same place as it is on the store piccys and it does fit, but from certain angles it does appear to just be floating there. Tomorrow I'll start working on his skin and go from there. Although the main question is, can I paint the whole thing without snapping that bird off?
  6. Here's pie in your eye!
  7. Good evening my Reaperlangarians! So it feels like I haven't been too productive this year, got kind of stuck on painting Lord Soth, which seemed to take longer than it should have, but now that he's painted up, it's onwards to other little projects. These two I actually finished last weekend, but I always take pictures with sunny weather, but it's been cloudy all week long until today. The only time it was sunny was last Sunday when I got up, went grocery shopping really quickly to Aldis and when I got home, saw the sun. I went into the shower really quickly to clean up and then I was going to take pictures of these ladies, but by the time I got out and dried off it was cloudy again. So anyhoos, pictures finally taken and here they are, the first is a Female Dwarven Warrior, not too sure who sculpted her: and the next one is Kylie Darkwalker, a Wild Elf Thief, sculptor also unknown: I like both figures, both pretty fun. I like them especially because they are Ral Partha/Iron Wind Metals figures, but I think sculpted much later in the company's history. I'm guessing latter nineties, but no way to be sure without asking. I'm a bit puzzled by my choice of colors for the elf. I figured wild elf, and though kind of woodsy elf, with brown skin (base code was Reaper's shield brown), and her top is green, but then she has those funky purple pants. She kind of reminds me if I harken back to the days of an old Olivia Newton John video, Let's Get Physical, or something like that where she has a green top and I think pinky/purply spandex pants. I actually just went to look at a picture and my memory was a bit faulty, it was a bright blue top and pink sweatpants. In any case, hope these provide moments of visual pleasure and simulation, until the next chunk of minis!
  8. Since I wasn't on here in 2021/2022... I wanted to post some of my favorite NMM minis. I took Almaran with me to ReaperCon last year- he ended up not being the one judged, but that's OK- I took him for some good ol' fashioned critique afterwards. And yeah, 2023 is going to be the year of "make an attempt with your bases, you dork".
  9. Hello All, Here is a 30089 Bones USA "Dorn Ironspike, Dwarf Warrior" I completed recently. Thank you for looking.
  10. Finished this up for a large group on Reaper’s Discord. I haven’t really posted much in the show off, as I snap these pics prior to clear coating them. And I don’t then dig out the photo lights and backdrop. Anyway, I wanted more earthy tones for his clothes with a full clay-red type of accent. So it’s the Terran Khaki triad for the robes, and Redstone Triad for the accents and hat. I don’t have the Redstone Highlight, so I just mixed HD Dwarf Flesh into Redstone to get some sort of highlight. Looks like I forgot his beard jewelry. I’ll go back and fix that.
  11. Super fun to paint but it took me since February. Too many distractions. She is set to be an NPC, but I have a couple players that want to play a paladin if I allow them a bear mount lol
  12. Hello All, Here is a Bones USA 30011 "Arkus Harn, Dwarf Witch Hunter" I completed last week. Thank you for looking.
  13. We certainly don't get many (any?) female blacksmith models, so this one was a welcome addition.
  14. "Born with an innate love of music, (stringed instruments, in particular), Gunnar spent his formative years aspiring to be the greatest bard the realm had ever seen. Sadly, his Dwarven heritage left him with thick, stubby fingers that were more suitable for crafting and battle than they were for making music. For years, Gunnar was told to forget his dream of plucking strings and focus instead on the joy of metalwork or the fury of combat. But few things are more tenacious than a determined dwarf with a dream. Always one to keep his ears open, Gunnar soon heard rumors of a mystical instrument that could be expertly wielded by anyone brave and lucky enough to find it. After years of searching and struggling, Gunnar was finally rewarded with the object of his quest high above a misty mountain. Now, he churns out an endless stream of heavy metal to amp up his companions in battle and terrify their enemies!" I got this set of bulk minis from Path Miniatures on Amazon (it's a great set, btw). It contained four identical dwarf clerics with warhammers. It's a great sculpt, but certainly not the kind of thing I needed four of. One had a hammer that was too warped to reshape, so I carefully cut it away with the plan to add some other dwarf-like weapon at some point. THEN, I got this Starlink figure at Dollar Tree (named "Razor Lemay"). She had an electric guitar strapped to her back, which inspired me. I cut it off, was pleased to find that it fit nicely in the dwarf's hands, and Gunnar Thunderaxe was born! I also added some spikes to his armor to make him more metal. Enjoy!
  15. Hello All, Here is a Dark Heaven Bones 77353 "Ursula, Dwarven Bear Rider" miniature I completed a few days ago. Thank you for looking.
  16. I haven't finished it all up, but I'm close. Still need to base this one, but i may turn him in for a contest next month. We'll see. So far I'm liking him. Fun doing the hair and big frill. Any suggestions? here's what the base looks like.
  17. Hello All, Here is a 30010 Bones USA "Berg Ironthorn, Dwarf Crossbowman" I completed last January. Thank you for looking.
  18. Painted this mini for a friend to use as a pc in our dnd campaing 🙂 Thanks for looking!
  19. She turned out rather well as an addition to my ever-expanding Grump of Dwarves. And the current Grump of Dwarves: (They're kinda like The Justice League).
  20. Hello All, I completed this 77074 Dain Deepaxe, Dwarf Fighter miniature yesterday. It is the plastic Bones version. Thank you for looking.
  21. This is Herry - Da Boss. Potato quality pics for your amusement. I had a matt varnish mishap last night and had to redo his face. Came out okay, though.
  22. Another Bones Dwarf for the Coffee Dwarf adventuring party... Proudly displaying his allegience to Maxwell House. Including his Dwarf sized coffee mug, slightly yellowed due to lack of washing. Which would violate the 1st Dictate of Agamenthar "Thou Shalt Not Wash Thy Mug and Remove the Accumulation of Blessed Flavor Therein."
  23. Hello All, Here is a Dwarf Butcher 77460 that I painted up a couple months ago. Thank you for looking.
  24. and it's day one after the grand Kickstarter Bones 6 and time to pull my eyeballs away from the ever changing Kickstarter screen and back to my version of reality. So here's one more figure I've got, painted a couple years back, but once again, as it hadn't been released, never showed him off. Well, he's out and about in the public, so here he is a very small Dwarves Necromancer, sculpted by Dave Summers three or four years back: I really like how his face is half a skull and half a living dwarf. It I would have been thinking years back, I would have maybe painted a side of his beard a lot lighter, but oh well, not going to worry about it now. Anyhoos, enjoy!
