  1. Tor Skullcrusher, dwarven tattooed monk A Custom Miniature developed on Hero Forge and 3D printed by a friend WIP As mentioned in the Work In Progress, this is a character of mine from an existing campaign. The character has died once and was raised from the dead suffering a drop in his already low Charisma score as a result. His caved-in skull didn't heal properly and the concussion and time in limbo have left him "off" personality wise. So, with damaged head and tattoos adorning his arms and the opposite side of his skull, I present the embodim

  3. Tor Skullcrusher, dwarven tattooed monk A Thrym Project :: A Custom Miniature developed on Hero Forge and 3D printed by a friend. Started working on character of mine who is a Dwarven Tattooed Monk. As I mentioned, I created him using Hero Forge, downloaded the .STL, and had him printed elsewhere. I enjoy using the interface on Hero Forge so far. I have designed and purchased 3 STLs and 2 minis. Once I received the print, I made a manual adjustment to his skull. An ironic happenstance, given the character's name. Tor, being a
  4. Painted a bunch of Lannisters this week including both soldiers and charactera. Tyrion's sculpt has surprisingly great face and was interesting to paint overall :) (click on images for better quality)
  5. An older miniature I started years ago, but finished recently. I think it was mostly the weapons (shading) and dirty shirt missing. I would say the paint job is average, but I do like the miniature. I decided to go for a simple, but interesting base, featuring a Nolzur's bottle and Thomarillion barrel.
  6. The way of the Dawi-kin A goal of Acquiring every single Reaper Dwarf and painting em up. Master check list has been put together that will be updated with time. Any duplicate model will receive conversion using Reaper weapons. I like my check-off lists and achievement progress icons. Green box indicates the mini is owned, the picture next to model indicates that is has been painted. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Reaper
  7. Hi folks, I recently painted up the dark dwarves (and Margara, dwarf shaman) as some duergar. Heavily inspired by Dr. Faust's Painting Clinic duergar streams for the skin. Only one picture, but may take more if there's interest. :)
  8. Painted this dwarf after he inspired me to write a D&D adventure. It's a really cool fig with plenty of neat little details. Comments and critiques are always welcome! Thanks in advance!
  9. Ok lets talk about this mini. I got it two years ago in the Legend of Drizzt boxed game and just never use it. Why? Because it just looks weird for a dwarf and it is overall lacking if that makes sense. But I believe it has potential to look pretty cool and become one of my favourite minis. This isn't the first time that I dislike and convert a Wizkids "hero" mini but this conversion will be the most drastic so far. So lets begin. First of all, the thing that bugs me the most are Athrogates flails. I've found some artwork online and here's how they could look lik
  10. More vintage minis from my childhood. Been soaking a dozen or so in isopropyl for about a week to get the 40 yr old enamel paint off them. With much scrubbing some of them came out pretty clean! Will post as they come along, here's one of my all-time favorites. I remember when I bought him in a little attic hobby shop in Ithaca, NY. Unfortunately I don't remember the packaging. Such a stoic little dude...any ideas?
  11. Durgam Deepmug, one of several figures I picked at random to paint for table use during the early weeks of covid-19 lockdown. I tried a little magical/ ice effect on his sword.
  12. So this is me trying to paint non-metallic metal for the first time. The mini is one of the dwarves from thehnolog's castlecraft line. Since it is my first, I'm pretty happy with the result. I hope I'll get better at this over time. All comments and suggestions regarding NMM are welcome. Thanks for looking!
  13. Several weeks ago I got to go to the hobby store and found a couple of new minis, one was this little jewel. It is pretty much done in the painting department, but what good is a catapult without its crew? These are some Oathmark dwarves that I’m converting to do the job. I admit the barrel is too big to fit in the catapult, but I’m going to find a way to work it in. I need to build a base big enough to hold everything and get some more dwarves, it is a start though. Ideas are welcome! Thanks for looking!
  14. Sandra Garrity makes some of my favorite Dwarves, and the detail on this one stood out. It doesn't show up much in the picture, but there are some Norse Futhark runes on the blade of the sword in blue that only appear if I rotate the figure 45% left or right. Also, I love dwarves in green.
  15. Hey, everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I haven't been very active on here for a while, but I've been painting. I figured that I'd start putting up my backlog of models. I love Dwarves, and this was a really cool model to paint. I'm particularly happy with the NMM, but if I were to change one thing, I would probably alter the tone of the hair and beard a bit so that it doesn't so closely match the armor.
  16. Apologies that this one isn't Reaper, but I am super stoked with how it turned out and really wanted to share. I recently started experimenting with glazing, an old and popular technique I have been aware of for years but had never really given much thought to or attempted. It was like unlocking an ancient magic, I cant believe the difference such a subtle technique has made to my miniatures. After achieving some promising results on a batch of halflings I recently painted, I decided to experiment some more on a slightly larger model, a 3D printed bust I'd picked up on Ebay (I be
  17. It's been a while since I've painted a Reaper miniature, so I thought I would post my latest creation here. I had a lot of fun painting this mini - blue is one of my favorite colors to blend with, and I enjoy painting fun hair, like her braid in the back. TMM was used on the metal.
  18. Hello again guys, so recently been a bit inspired to paint some old miniatures, ones that were nice and dark lead. Part of the reason for this is I want to get these painted before they actually disintegrate or get a lot of lead rot, so I'm going to be hopefully keep painting the few ones that I have that are really old, just to get a protective cover of paint on them, and because let's face it, they're basically just cool! So today I've got two dwarves from an old Citadel boxed set, whose name I don't remember but it was probably something like Court of the Dwarf King
  19. After many many moons, I finally finished painting Captain Long Drong, leader of the Slayer Pirates, from the good old Dogs of War days of Warhammer.
  20. Painted up this cool dwarf. Went for an icy look and I'm really happy with how he turned out. Critiques and advice are always welcome! Thanks in advance!
  21. Painted this swarthy looking dwarf up for a sorcerer character I'm planning on playing at some point. I'm really happy with how he turned out. My wife actually suggested the shock of white hair on the top of his head, which ended up being my favorite part. Critiques and advice are always welcome, thanks in advance!
  22. Converted from a base of a Bronze Age Miniatures Dwarf, this piece will represent Alora, a Dwarf Bard from the College of Lore, my wife's character for an upcoming D&D campaign. Additional pieces came from the Frostgrave Soldiers II and Wizards II kits, a lute from Mega Minis, and a quill recovered from an old Warhammer Empire Soldiers kit. It's a bit hard to see in the photos, but as her reason for adventuring is to get over writer's block, her only entry in the book is a tribute to Spongebob's infamous essay.
  23. This is a Dwarf Lord Ragmir by Scibor monstrous miniatures, I got this for my nephew awhile back and just finished it. This thing had a lot of good details, and a cool base even if it was a little small, which is no longer an issue since I just mounted him on his stock base and then a metal knockout from an electrical box. Thanks for looking!
