  1. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kingdomoftiradom/high-elves-vs-dwarfs 50+ nonmodular dwarf models and about as many nonmodular elves. Each army is 25€ but you can get both for 35€ as Early Bird (40€ later).
  2. Fireforge makes some great figures. Here is their latest KS. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/fireforgegames/stone-realm-hard-plastic-multi-part-dwarves-in-28mm-scale/description
  3. I have for the longest time been thinking on how to paint these. I knew I did not want to do them all in the official caucasian skin, orange hair that is so prevalent. Options for their look included a Dia de los Muertos or Calaveras de Azucar-style, Pictish blue daub, Voodoo-shadowman-black with painted skeleton on the skin, Tartan punks, Roman legionnary colour scheme...to Ghostbusters "I am the Keymaster" I have a ten year old daughter and when the telly is on, I pretty much get exposed to what she is watching. That themesong is a bit of an earworm. So I noticed that the dragon-headed helmet ornaments all have a little horn above the muzzle. Much like a unicorn... and then that theme song once again came unbidden to mind. There was no denying it. They became My Little Slayers. Because Fyre is Magic! And their helmets probably have horsehair plumes... lots of pictures beneath the click
  4. So I realized I only had one painted dwarf (!) when one of my GMs asked me if I had anything for the Jadeborn, a race in Exalted that is roughly equivalent to dwarves except for the 0.001% who are roughly equivalent to elves. And they are also sort of stone golems. Based on jade. I thought Reaper's 60184: Meyanda, Android Priestess, sculpted by Bobby Jackson, would do well for one of the elfy artisan Jadeborn and I pulled out a random assortment of seven (because of course) dwarves for the worker and warrior Jadeborn. All paints used are Golden Matte Fluid Acrylics. Color mixes are (usually) noted, but not exact ratios. Questions are welcomed and I will try to answer them. Critiques are appreciated. This is the way I usually start miniature figures: Lightly primed with Titanium White, then when that is dry, washing it over with Burnt Umber. Burnt Umber is a dark, transparent pigment that settles into crannies when thinned down and shows the details very well. It also gives a nice warm undertone to later paint layers. I left a few crystal and gem areas white so they will have more luminosity later. Left to right: Reaper 60184, Meyanda Android Priestess; Ral Partha; Hasslefree HFD014 Hatherley; Oathsworn Miniatures; Oathsworn Miniatures; Red Box Games; Stonehaven Miniatures; Reaper 14143: Kara Foehunter, Dwarf Hero Details: The Ral Partha dwarf is tiny!
  5. Some massive darkness still.., this time dwarfs and some minions warriors 4 in total to start with ( having 4 other type cooking )..
  6. It's always a pleasure painting Reaper Dwarfs.
  7. I swear, I finished these in time...but I didn't get to upload the photos last night! As usual, I try to participate in a themed project every month, and as it was No-Shave November, what better than some Dwarfs? They're all rather Oldhammer, except for the casualty from Mantic. I think they'd make a good start for a Dwarf Treasure Hunters warband for Mordheim. "Just a quick drink before the adventure..." "I think we're going the right way..." Just an old Thunderer: "Alright, let me bring along some dinner..." "Scouting ahead!" "Just a little nap afore we kill those Gobbos..."
  8. Hi, I made my first pack of rakcham dwarfs (I had great luck and bought 70 units of midnor...:):):), now i have complete faction). Most fun in this project was making crystal bases. I made crystals from plasticard and pavement from gypsum. All comments are welcome:)
  9. A group of unusual Dwarfs. They're all by Reaper, except for the Hunter, who is an old Warhammer Dwarf Adventurer.
  10. OK well it's time to try this again. Our last Kickstarter did not go the way we wanted it to, and we listened to out backers on why it did not work. We are now back at it again trying to get this off the gorund. This is a dream of ours and we are not going to stop till we get this thing on the gorund becasue we feel we have somethign very special here. So I want to reintroduce you to our Kickstarter MidKnight Heroes Season 0 Reboot! What is Reboot!? Reboot is where we went back to the drawing board and redesigned our idea. We changed for a set idea to a per miniature idea with our primary miniature Leonide as our main miniature. We added more value to you pledges and even redesigned two of our characters the was not very popular, Oda and Hanna. Our Funding level is much smaller, $2000 (Bare bones) that our last Kickstarter and we now offer free shipping to all US backers. Stop by and take a look and hep make our drream a reality! Our Miniatures will be sculpted by Robby Crawforth and Fancagne Didier and will be cast in metal. Our current Stretch goals: go to our website at www.midknighthereos.com to see all our stretch goals. Natakue and the MidKnight Hereos Team. "Thank you for supporting us!"
  11. I've finally painted a couple of dwarfs from our first Kickstarter, Alric the smith, and Burlok Baldursson… and as a shameless plug, our current KS only has a couple of days to go! http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/55808-clan-mcfiggin-dwarf-kickstarter/ cheers, Michael
  12. I thought I'd start a thread of the recent miniatures work I've done. Here's the most recent, my attempts at Kostchtchie the Deathless (the D&D/Pathfinder Demon Lord version, not the Russian mythical figure)
  13. While digging around, looking for my next project, I noticed I still had a lot of my Stonehaven Dwarfs to paint, so I'm getting them finished off. That should keep me busy until my Bones arrive! Here's the guys and girls I've already finished:- Warrior (plus bonus Troll) Rogue and Druidess Mage and Bard Here's the rest of the gang primed and ready (minus 1 guy who I'd previously primed in black and is having a scrub down):- And finally the one I'd been working on:- The King
