The way of the Dawi-kin A goal of Acquiring every single Reaper Dwarf and painting em up. Master check list has been put together that will be updated with time. Any duplicate model will receive conversion using Reaper weapons. I like my check-off lists and achievement progress icons. Green box indicates the mini is owned, the picture next to model indicates that is has been painted. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Reaper, Dwarf Mancatcher, sku: 14463 Made this guy a Noblemen with bright colored clothes and golden glave. Reaper, King Axehelm of Kragmarr, 77478 Wanted a dirty worn look on this dwarf kind, and a high contrast in color scheme of white and red. Made a mistake on this one using wrong type of shade that made everything glossy, had to layer addition shades of different brand to take out the gloss. turned out a bit darker than planned. Reaper, Dwarven Brewmeister, 02559 Quite a strait forward model to paint. Did not want crazy colors for this guy. A variation of royal blue color scheme with gold patterns and closed eye lids could be interesting. The rest of the gang. Those mugs man, are like half the size of that poor little barrel. Wanted grouped colors of tans and browns to create tonal contrast instead of use of intense colors. These are quite easy to paint, good models. Reaper, Hagar, Dwarven Hero, 77482 Wanted to make Hagar and Durgam Deepmug into a two brother team of green-beards. Just leather, iron, and green. Reaper, Durgam Deepmug Dwarf Hero, 77400 The green-beard brother of Hagar. Rangers both, with green rune weapons Reaper, Dwarf Royal Weapomaster, 77574 There is nothing royal about this malicious looking guy. Went for high contrast red/white. I was thinking of possible conversions, I don't know, this is not the most interesting dwarf model they have for that. Reaper, Fulumbar, Dwarf Warrior, 77011 Gave him axe and a shield from reaper Weapon pack III Usually I do not go for bright colors, yet this warrior needed some frost armor! (too much terreria of late) Reaper, Fulumbar, Dwarf Warrior, 77011 The original model with a bit older paint job, or battle dirt paint job ;) But with TrueBlood effect paint from GreenStuff Reaper, Freja Fangbreaker , 77073 This is one of the cooler looking models, even though was a bit hard to paint. Older paint job, dirty, battle weathered. Went with Conan the Barbarian face paint. Reaper, Freja Fangbreaker , 77073 Same model with Weapon Pack III axe upgrade. Most recent paint job, cleaner with different paint scheme of bronze and green.

This KS launched yesterday, and is already funded(with two stretch goals unlocked)! 😄 https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/galladoria/factions-of-galladoria Factions of Galladoria gives you a set of scenery pieces themed around four different factions: Humans, dwarves, elves, and orcs! They all have their own, unique takes on beds, tables, chairs, chests, and even siege engines! Ever wanted to make a dwarf specific tavern? Well, here are beds, tables, chairs, and more for that. How about an orc specific barracks? This KS has got you covered! I'm rather excited for this KS. The stuff is made in the US, so supply chain issues shouldn't be a problem. And there's a lot of cool stuff here at very good prices! At the lowest (unpainted) pledges, it's between $1.1 and $1.5 per mini in each accessory pack and $10 per siege engine, which is already decent prices in my personal opinion. But if you go for the "unpainted all in" pledge (8 accessory sets and 4 siege engines) of $120, it's only 75% of that, which averages out to about a dollar per mini in the accessories, and $7.50 per siege engine! 😄 $120 nets you the unpainted version of everything in the picture above, btw! Plus any non addon stretch goal stuff! But there are a bunch of other options as well! It all looks really good as well, and each accessorry set has both regular beds and bunk beds, which I find really cool! 😄 Oh, and it's possible to get everything hand painted as well! Current stretch goals map: Btw, this is Galladoria's new KS campaign after they cancelled the fortress one, which was just too big of a project. Also, I'm not affiliated with them, just very enthusiastic! xD

Slightly delayed to finish, and even more delayed to post to the forums, are my usual themed miniatures from November: Dwarves! Beardy folk seem most appropriate for No-Shave November. Redcaps pretending to be Dwarves from Massive Darkness A Duergar Trapper from Stonehaven Miniatures The Dwarf King from the small release "The Dwarf King's Court, Revisited" by Colin Dixon Miniatures A Warhammer Dwarf Miner where I think I remembered how flames work: This was going to be my PC for Rise of the Runelords, but the game ended before I ever painted him. Grimlok Rockholmes, the World's 2nd Greatest Dwarf Detective. SKU: 50319: OLAV GUNDERSON, DWARF GAMBLER The only beardless member, SKU 77413: Margara, Dwarf Shaman SKU 77572: Dwarf Master of the Hunt. Jason Wiebe always manages to hide fun details: I hadn't realized his jacket was a dragonskin and not just armor plates until I was almost done and wound up painting it to match. Greetings, Children of the Reaper... - I always think it's cheeky when entities pop up on manufacturers forums for a leg up; I do hope you will give me a pass, as I have contributed to the great Reaper Edifice (in a minuscule way) with a few sculpts in the past (Reaper Ron was kind enough to relieve me of a few Dregs.. Ghoul/Zombie sorts). I'm just tinkering with a little range of my own , perhaps more whimsical fantasy figures.. Got a batch of greens finished (two gang/factions.. enough for an initial mould).. and am immersing myself in a bit of hitherto unexplored social media (only got on FBook this year!). Have just set up a FaceBook 'Artist' page (please do take a look if you like, no obligation, am not flogging anything just now): https://www.facebook.com/midblightminiatures/?modal=admin_todo_tour And attached a couple of pics for you to examine... All the Beast/ Hope you US Denizens had a great Thanksgiving , Paul M

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2087444096/stonehaven-dwarves-vol-2/description About "...Aulë made the dwarves strong to endure. Therefore they are stone-hard, stubborn, fast in friendship and in enmity, and they suffer toil and hunger and hurt of body more hardily than all other speaking peoples; and they live long, far beyond the span of Men, yet not forever." -J. R. R. Tolkien Dwarves really are the best! While they're often a bit rough around the edges, they have the best accents, are insatiably loot-hungry, and will fight anything that moves—so we are going to make a bunch more of them! We've assembled them into adventuring parties to make it easier for us to pack and ship. You can add an additional adventuring party to your base reward for $22. Additional individual dwarves can be added to your base reward for $5 each. For a slightly larger view of the minis, check them out on our blog. Here are the adventuring parties: From Left to Right: Male Dwarven Brawler, Female Dwarven Bard, Male Dwarven Deathknight, Male Dwarven Druid, Female Dwarven Warrior The League seeks out the ancient dwarven knowledge hidden deep within the lost caverns. They hope that, in time, civilized dwarves will once again inhabit those hallowed halls. From Left to Right: Male Dwarven Rogue, Female Dwarven Sheildbreaker, Male Dwarven Battlerager, Male Dwarven Mage, Female Dwarven Archer Hogg's Tavern is not the sort of place that anyone should visit . . . at least not anyone who values their life or health. Surprisingly, it has regulars. Its patrons are usually adventures past their prime or looking to make a name for themselves. From Left to Right: Female Dwarven Mechanist, Male Dwarven Automaton, Male Dwarven Gunslinger, Female Dwarven Automage, Male Dwarven Investigator Not everyone has embraced the "advances" made in the Steam Valley workshops. When the Savages descended on the valley, the Seigebreakers and their constructs helped turn the tide against the invading armies. From Left to Right: Female Dwarven Vampire Hunter, Male Dwarven Undead Elite, Male Dwarven Necromancer, Female Dwarven Huntsman, Male Dwarven Warlord The lands beyond Raven's Gate are shrouded in perpetual mists and haunted by the undead. Only the very brave or the very foolish venture there. Why not both? From Left to Right: Female Dwarven Barbarian, Female Dwarven Berserker, Female Dwarven Wandsmith, Male Dwarven Fighter, Male Dwarven Barbarian The Iron Hills are not an easy country to grow up in. There's bitter cold winters and orcish armies locked in perpetual combat. That's not even mentioning the greatwolves. No one ever mentions the greatwolves. Every Stretch Goal we hit will add more dwarves (or dwarf-related miniature items/companions) to the Completionist Set. When we have enough of these for a new adventuring party, a new party will be formed. Here are our stretch goals: At $7,500 the Female Dwarven Cleric will be unlocked and added to the Dwarves Vol. 2 Completionist Reward. She will also made available as a $5 add-on. At $10,000 the Male Dwarven Buccaneer will be unlocked and added to the Dwaves Vol. 2 Completionist Reward. He will also be made available as a $5 add-on. As we hit these stretch goals, more dwarves will be unleashed!

So I realized I only had one painted dwarf (!) when one of my GMs asked me if I had anything for the Jadeborn, a race in Exalted that is roughly equivalent to dwarves except for the 0.001% who are roughly equivalent to elves. And they are also sort of stone golems. Based on jade. I thought Reaper's 60184: Meyanda, Android Priestess, sculpted by Bobby Jackson, would do well for one of the elfy artisan Jadeborn and I pulled out a random assortment of seven (because of course) dwarves for the worker and warrior Jadeborn. All paints used are Golden Matte Fluid Acrylics. Color mixes are (usually) noted, but not exact ratios. Questions are welcomed and I will try to answer them. Critiques are appreciated. This is the way I usually start miniature figures: Lightly primed with Titanium White, then when that is dry, washing it over with Burnt Umber. Burnt Umber is a dark, transparent pigment that settles into crannies when thinned down and shows the details very well. It also gives a nice warm undertone to later paint layers. I left a few crystal and gem areas white so they will have more luminosity later. Left to right: Reaper 60184, Meyanda Android Priestess; Ral Partha; Hasslefree HFD014 Hatherley; Oathsworn Miniatures; Oathsworn Miniatures; Red Box Games; Stonehaven Miniatures; Reaper 14143: Kara Foehunter, Dwarf Hero Details: The Ral Partha dwarf is tiny!

Hello all, here are some more Shadowrun figures that I've been working on. Two excellent figures, probably sculpted back in the nineties by Dave Summers, two Shadowrun Dwarven Mercenaries. As usual, so hard to decide upon colors, but I think they worked out reasonably well. The first one is a delicate dwarven lady: and her stalwart male companion: First time I've ever painted modern weaponry, so hoping they turned out okay. With choosing colors, in an effort to make my life a little bit easier, I gave them the same color overcoat, just painted different color detailing on them. I find that a nice change of genre is pretty fun, I'm enjoying painting something a little less fantasy and more sci-fi for a while. I'll hope to have more of these coming soon! Enjoy!

Okay so Epic may not be appropriate, but I'll let you judge that for yourself. I got my hands on a Dragons Don't Share 2 at Adepticon (thank you reaper Bryan and Reaper Ed!) and I decided to begin a fairly substantial diorama with it. I'm still working on an appropriate name for the piece. I'll have a narrative story to go with it, but the Idea is still changing slightly as I build this. I hope to have this ready for ReaperCon 2016. So to start, This is how one carries a DDS2 home on a motorcycle... And no he will not share with you... On to the actual Diorama! The ideas started when we purchased a Lack end table from Ikea for about $3 from their as is section. We needed the legs but not the top. So I decided that the top would make a great diorama base and it is 22" which is 2" smaller than the size limit for most painting competitions near me (and reapercon). The idea is that an army of Dwarves are attempting to take down a dragon that has been harassing their kingdom. They find the dragon in some ruins near the creek and ambush him. So with this in mind, I started to lay out how I wanted things to be situated. This was a rough test to see how the DDS2 scaled to the table top. I think it worked well. So then it was on to Reaper's website to see about finding the right dwarves for this. I knew I wanted 2 team of Dwarves with chains trying to subdue the dragon. The dragons pose even looks like he is in mid attack so this works well enough. I ordered 6 14596: Kragmarr Guard to act as the chain crews. It will be a fairly straightforward swap from their spears to holding a chin (I hope). I plan to use the dwarf that came with the DDS2 set but not any of the other adventurers. Also shown is 14607 Kragmarr Ram Rider though I'm not sure if he will stay, 14379 Shield Maiden, and 02376 Brag Ironballs. I still need to order some crossbow wielding dwarves and some rank and file dwarves to add to the scene. Plus some dead adventurers and skellys to add to the scenery. right now I have 10 Dwarves in the scene with plans to add at least another 15-20. I'll also be raising the scene on cork so that the building terrain is at slightly different levels and I can add a creek. This is where I am at so far, I have to wait until payday to order more dwarves. I'll leave a nice list of all of the Miniatures I'm using as i go to make it easier. This is an over view of where the Diorama sits now with more dwarves.... Need to re-aim this group I think... Brag Ironballs showing how he got his name... Minis Used so far... 77381: Dragons Don't Share - 2014 Edition (Dragon, Terrain, and Dwarf only) 14596: Kragmarr Guard (x6) 02376: Brag Ironballs 14379: Dwarven Shieldmaiden 14607: Kragmarr Ram Rider

So I've been working on these for a while now, but I think they are at long last finally done. These are two new figures from Ral Partha's Chaos Wars Kickstarter, sculpted in the same size/scale as the other Tom Meier Dwarves that were being remastered. The first one in chain and a halberd: and the other one in full plate and an axe: These made me work a lot with my non-metallic metals, and of course this is my most challenging aspect of painting until now, so hopefully it looks more or less decent. Eventually I want to paint the other two dwarven riders they put out, one of which is a dwarven chick. I really like these sculpts, sculpted by Dave Summers, who does all those great anthropomorphic Dark Sword sculpts as well. Anyhow, enjoy!

Recently, I had a mad idea to make a travel set for the mass fantasy battle game Kings of War. I could take it to my brother's so I can play it with my nephews and nieces, bring it to cons without needing to rent a U-haul, even take it to the beach. The general idea is to use 10mm figures instead of 28mm and scale everything accordingly. Since Kings of War uses unit bases with no figure removal I can fix these guys onto their bases and add some scenery, etc. After looking into what was available in 10mm I decided to start with two Lord of the Rings inspired armies, dwarves and orcs, based on the 10mm figures from Copplestone Castings with some figures from other companies to fill in any gaps. Anyway, I ordered a bunch of stuff (it's hard to say no when people are selling packs of 28 minis for just few dollars) and since they have a branch or at least distribution here in the US, the first to arrive were some dwarves from Eureka. They came before I was expecting them and I got all excited and gave them a quick bath, forgetting to clean up flash, etc. first. Yep, these guys are pretty small. The white bit of polystyrene is a 80mm wide horde base that should nominally hold 40 dwarves but my plan is to have the non-orcs with quite a bit less than that and if possible have more than 40 orcs on such a base. That's to give more of the feel of Tolkien's battles where the good guy are normally vastly outnumbered. More later.

Good evening all, so I finished these two this morning, that come from an old Ral Partha set called I think Dwarven Steam Cannon, that was resurrected in a recent Ral Partha Kickstarter. I don't have the actual steam cannon, but I do have two of the three dwarves that operate the contraption, which are here: I made them pretty much the same color of uniform, because they are running the same big machine, just varying essentially their hair color. They do both have eyes and they are painted, but they are under those furrowed hairy brows. Here they are together: There is a third engineer, who is actually working, he's got a shovel and he's picking up coal, but that's a figure I just don't happen to be the proud owner of. I'll have to pick that one up one of these days to complete my little trio of dwarves. Remember that these are old school Partha, so they are pretty small sized figures. They probably take up about 1/3 to 1/4 the lead of a modern dwarf these days and are probably about 20 mm tall. I really do like these figures, as they are some of the few non-bellicose figures from that time, no weapons, just working (even though they are running a cannon). Anyhow, simple paint jobs, and I hope you enjoy them!

Project: Captain Redbeard's Pirate Dwarves About this project Avast me hearties! Splice the mainbrace and beat to quarters, that galleon is bilged on her anchor and ripe for the picking! Bring us alongside Gibbs. Boomer, get ready on the gun! Pete my boy, are you loaded? Hefty, Sharktooth, Deadeye, follow me! Gyaaarh! This project is to fund production of a pirate dwarf crew, a set of unique miniatures forming a warband of adventuring buccaneers for skirmish gaming or a unit of mercenary fighters in a larger dwarf army. They are 28mm metal miniatures, sculpted by Mark Evans, who produced all the dwarf sculpts in our previous kickstarter. This time we have decided to offer only one pledge level, with all stretch goals being free additions to the set. If you want multiple sets just increase your pledge amount accordingly. Pledge price includes FREE SHIPPING in the UK and discounted shipping of just £2 for anywhere else worldwide. If successfully funded each backer will receive one each of Captain Redbeard's crew plus any applicable stretch goals- 1. Cap'n Redbeard 2. Bo'sun Gibbs 3. Deadeye Dan 4. Hefty Hawkins 5. Slick Willie 6. Sharktooth Jack 7. Pigwash 8. Little Pete 9. Boomer Svensson and Swivel Gun The Captain himself. As gnarly a swashbucking, treasure-hungry dwarf as you could ever hope to meet. He'll fight anyone and anything if there's a promise of doubloons which makes his crew a useful mercenary force to bolster any dwarf army (just don't pay him in advance). The captain's trusted Bo'sun, often found leading boarding parties or manning the ship when the captain takes a raiding party ashore. His aim is as good with his axe as with his pistol, as many an enemy has found out Avast behind! The crew will often mutter about hefty, but not within earshot of him. If you have a door to kick down, a bear to wrestle or a sandwich to eat, he's your man. The general opinion among the crew is the Willie fancies himself, with his goatee, ponytail and feather in his hat, he cares a bit too much about his appearance. Sharktooth is just a thorough git, a complete thug with a pair of wicked short knives that earned him his nickname. Rumour has it that Pigwash was once captain of his own ship, nobody knows for sure and nobody likes to ask because of that big axe he carries around. The smallest of the crew, some say he's overcompensating but with his blunderbuss he can clear a deck or blow a dwarf sized hole in a city gate. He's got you covered, the swivel gun is small enough that the crew will often take it ashore for some extra firepower.

A new set of Dwarven Musketeer miniatures produced by Gary Price. I backed his first Kickstarter and they were a real treat. Great sculpts, nicely cast, and very characterful.
