  1. I made these a while a ago and finally had the time to paint them up, I like how they turned out :D The crafting process more or less:
  2. Howdy, Kev! P.S. It must have been the wind...
  3. Howdy, Kev! P.S. It's a baby Gorignak!
  4. I grabbed this guy out of the bag of Bones and couldn't tell what it was without my glasses. All I could tell was that it was a big muscley guy, and I thought it would make a good earth golem to go with the stone golem I was painting. So I put primer on it, and was a little surprised when I put on my glasses to paint it. Whatever. A little flock covered all the obvious scars and stitches. I'm very happy with it.
  5. My elementals. I'm going to need to redo a few pics for inspiration gallery submission, but good for now. These have only been cropped, unlike most of my pics. WIP
  6. So I decided to do some elementals real quick. I gave them base coat of matte medium - primer for earth, because base coat. Then I attempted the yellow-ning. First it looked good, so I tried to add a little more, mixed with orange tint, and ugh. I think I'd recommend doing outsides red, and then use a yellow ink w/medium as "dry" brush to pick out details. It won't look right, but a lot of the translucents really seem to be table ready.
  7. I really like these elementals' pose and sculpting. So much more imposing and dynamic compared to most other elementals I have seen. Picking flowers... There are many more pictures at my blog Water Elemental was done as follows: first, an undercoat of clear matte varnish. This is key! I used Army Painter Anti Shine spray. Then some vallejo blue ink and when dry several light drybrushings with progressively lighter shades of pale blue up to almost pure white. Then some ancient citadel turquoise glaze here and there, all topped off with gloss va
  8. A couple more firsts on this guy with the gems and the base. And I had a lot of fun painting him. Enjoy edit: So I have to admit I got a little exited playing with new toys last night and rushed the picture process. But I just wasn't happy with how dark they turned out. After another read through of the Miniatures Photography 101 I think I did a much better job today. Now You can see all the detail good and bad!
  9. OK Everyone. I'm so jazzed by the minis SGHawkins09 sent me for the 2015 summer exchange. This was the Bone Earth Elemental 77185 painted in an ice/snow theme, based as such. It might be a great proxy for a certain Disney Movie all the kids know by heart these days... She fogot to take pictures, so I did her the honor. She should be very proud of her work. I love how in certain shots/angles, the snow effect looks like it's melting! This figure and its partner have taken up front positions on the Shelf of HonorTM
  10. I rebased the lesser elementals (Reaper 2538) that I painted up several years ago. While doing so, I also gave them a touch-up paint job, the fire elemental got his flames reversed in several places for instance. Front picture linked due to nudity: http://www.coolminiornot.com/369633?browseid=10757476 Edited to add SKU in tags
  11. My take on the Earth elemental. I went with a variety of rocks jumbled together over being one color =)
  12. Second miniature of the New Age of Miniature Painting at the Hellcow Household! I'm going to come right out and say it - I am pretty darned pleased with how this guy turned out. All of the little things I tried here, imo, worked just like I wanted them too with the sole exception of that headstone - I shouldn't have done the 'dipping' technique on it as I was unable to get the pale surface color I wanted. Oh well - now that there is a little dullcote on it I can clean it up later!
