  1. I started out with an Egyptian Undead faction in my Lost World but it didn't feel right. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/ After some good advice from @malefactus I decided to move the Eygptians to their own thread. The first one is my Mummy Captain. Now working on a Grenadier Undead Rhino Captive Carrier with a Bones Priestess as Crew
  2. The Egyptians of old venerated the scarab as an aspect of Ra, the motivator that propelled the Sun across the sky like a dung-ball. Thousands of years later, the red desert has covered the sacred sites, and vulgar adventurers dig for treasure. But it does not do to profane the shrine of a god! Or perhaps it is just that, in the desert, everything is hungry. Either way, it's not pleasant. Or quick. What a great pulpy sculpt, and what a horrible way to go!
  3. Hi folks! It's been a while since I last posted here. Here is a Reaper mini that I painted to be the main and final antagonist in a egyptian Frostgrave campaign inspired by The Thaw of the Lich Lord. The undead queen awaits in her temple of doooom!
  4. Hi all! How do you do? Here are three egyptian skeletons from Otherworld Miniatures. They serve as basic enemies for my egyptian fantasy adventures.
  5. Hi all! How do you do? It's been a while since I last shared a mini here. I recently converted and painted one for my egyptian-themed Frostgrave warband. Since the mini depicts a woman with bare breasts, I am supposed -as per the forum rules- to post links to the pictures instead of displaying them directly in the post. So consider this topic slightly NSFW. To begin with, here is the mini I started with: https://www.reapermini.com/search/yanara https://legolemquireve.files.wordpress.com/2022/01/p1090389.jpg For the conversion, here's what I did: Sawed the head off. A brutal surgery but a necessary one. [picture] Replaced the head with a bald one from Statuesque Miniatures. [picture] Filed off the remaining hair with a Dremmel power tool. [picture] Filed off the belt decoration and replace it with an Ankh cross. Resculpted the piece of fur on her shoulders and upper back. Cut off the top of her staff and replace it with an egyptian staff decoration (a double ostrich feather ornament) The result after the conversion: https://legolemquireve.files.wordpress.com/2022/06/p1090830.jpg After priming in off-white: https://legolemquireve.files.wordpress.com/2022/06/p1090832.jpg And finally, the painted mini: [Front Picture] / [Side Picture 1] / [Side Picture 2] / [Back Picture] / [Close-up Picture] If you want to see the pictures directly, you may visit my blog post (although it's written in french): https://legolemquireve.wordpress.com/2022/06/29/sandgrave-djesa-la-thaumaturge/
  6. Hi everybody. Since I recently joined the Reaper forum, I thought I might as well share one of my latest painted minis. The original model: https://www.reapermini.com/search/03506 I have chosen this mini to represent a wizard apprentice in an egyptian version of Frostgrave. Since she is 'only' an apprentice, I wanted her to look a little less important, which is why I cut off the tiara. Unfortunately the little baboon that was included hasn't been painted as I have no use for him... yet. Hope you like it. Have a nice day everybody!
  7. A soldier for my warband in my egyptian version of Frostgrave. Can't say I'm too happy with the way the NMM looks but I'm done with this model nonetheless.
  8. This is a Photobackdrop Board I built for my Shifting Sands Project. I was inspired by the great backdrops @malefactus built, so I built one for my Jungle Project a few years ago, and now this one. It's a Temple of Apophis the Suneater. The Large Cobra is the Bones King Cobra SKU: 44103 The statues, altar, braziers are all 3D printed files from Artisan Guild. on my Elegoo Mars The Treasures are a mix of Reaper Egyptian Treasure SKU: 03112 and some Resin treasures from Tabletopstudios/Minimonsters. The Temple is carved from AK Interactive Foam and the Glyphs are made with the Greenstuffworld Egyptian Rollerpin. Tufts from Vallejo. WIP HERE: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/91790-temple-of-apophis-photoboard-by-glitterwolf/#comments Nobody in his right mind would build a Temple to honour the Suneater, the Destroyer, the Serpent God Apophis and yet...here it is. Many adventurers thought themselves to get rich upon finding the halfburied entrance, none returned. Guest appearances from some minis I painted for the project.
  9. Archvillain Miniatures 3D file, printed on my Elegoo Mars. Temple is from Archvillain Egyptian Bases pack. The other two ruin pieces are from Greenstuffworld Egyptian Ruins. Sand is Vallejo Desert Sand. Part of my Shifting Sands Project. WIP here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79372-shifting-sands-glitterwolf-paints-egyptian-undead/page/18/#comments The Crusaders thought they were winning, the unholy forces of the ancient Undead were almost defeated and they could taste victory. Too late Grandmaster Joseph noticed the Priest on a large sanddune behind the Undead's ranks, he was performing some unholy ritual for sure! Joseph spurred his Knights on, but he was too late, the Priest uttered the final words of power and then the creature appeared. It swooped down from the sky, it's metallic wings reflecting the sunlight and blinding his men, and then it landed amidst his Army, footmen were trampled, it's cruel blades hacked through the ranks of his Knights. A heavy tail knocked Grandmaster Joseph from his steed. Lying on his back he looked into the Sun, a final prayer on his lips when he saw the creature approaching, a glimps of what was once a woman's face and then all went black.
  10. A new unit for my Shifting Sands Project. WIP here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79372-shifting-sands-glitterwolf-paints-egyptian-undead/&page=9 Egyptian Warcats with Handler. Handler = Reaper Egyptian Princess SKU: 03506 ( she comes with a baboon which will make an appearance later) Black Panther is the New BONES IV Phase Cat with his tentacles removed SKU: 44042 Lion= Bones Lion SKU: 77341 The Panther with the Princess is from Ral Partha I got it from a BOGW The Leopard is from the Companion Animals Set Bones SKU: 77216 The Nehekharan Warcat is the Reaper Elven Hunting Cat SKU: 14453 I used Vallejo Desert Sand and some Greenstuffworld Egyptian Ruins for the bases. Hope you enjoy them.
  11. Sobek was a complex crocodile god of the ancient Egyptians. He was god of fertility, wild sexytimes and strength, and also a protector against the ravages of the river Nile and its inhabitants. The khopesh was a kind of ancient Egyptian sword evolved from a battle axe. The one on this sculpt is a little thicker and more swordlike than most of the ones I've seen, which makes it sturdier on a miniatures scale. The figure is Reaper's 14381, Nefsokar Devourer of Ammat, sculpt by Bob Ridolfi. I didn't make a WIP thread. I was halfway done with him before I realized that he was supposed to be a stone statue with cracks and chips in the stone. Maybe another time I will paint a version of him like that, but in this case I overlooked the texture and painted him with fairly realistic crocodile and corroded bronze colors. And because I like to play around with photography and backgrounds:
  12. I find this mini problematic and objectifying. that said I wanted the baboon that came with her. So I figured I’d make some progress on skin tone and paint her up. happy with how she came out even if I might not ever use her
  13. The Return of Cleopatra - 28mm Egyptian Miniatures, via @Kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1267315341/the-return-of-cleopatra-28mm-egyptian-miniatures I see some stuff from @TaleSpinner!
  14. Aziz and Farouk are from RAFM's Call of Cthulhu Miskatonic Expedition to Egypt. 14081 and 14242 are Reaper Nefsokar minis with great attitudes. "O Farouk, the coffer was exactly where you said; I have kept my part of the bargain. Are you sure it was wise to remove it from its place?" "Never fear, Aziz; the English were drunk and foolish with wine; assuredly they did not miss it in the celebration of their 'find!' Take your pay and go in peace." "It is not the English that concern me, O most learned Farouk! There were writings in the Old Hieratic that seemed to bode ill for those who would trespass upon this sepulcher. The old men. who know such things, tell tales of--" "O faithless Aziz! Have you forgotten the precepts of your youth? Immutable are the decrees of Allah; save the Most High wills it, the dead do not walk again! Again I assure you, there is no cause for your trepidation."
  15. Here is the Sphinx from Bones 3. She was fun to paint with lots of little details. She has the prettiest face and since she is a little larger, there was lots of room to practice facial features. Hope my players are good at riddles! The color on the photos is a little "off" and everything appears a bit more yellow than it actually is. My batteries were dying in my camera so I was trying to hurry and didn't realize the color was slightly off. C&C welcome! Thanks for looking! Update: She is on the list to be released on March 5!
  16. About The aim of this campaign is to re-edit two games from ancient Egypt, the Senet and the Aseb, making versions that respect the Egyptian style. The two games are handmade using wood and stone. Senet is an Egyptian game, and is one of the oldest games in the world. Senet was a very popular board game in ancient Egypt, people of all social classes played Senet. Many Senet game boards have been found in various Egyptian tombs, including in the Tomb of Tutankhamun. Over time, the game acquired religious connotations and became a ritual for obtaining immortality or endless life. With the popularity of Senet, new board games appeared. One of these was the Aseb, also known as ‘The Twenty Squares game’, Egyptian game derived from the Sumerian Royal Game of Ur and Senet. Senet & Aseb Although the rules of senet were not written down, Egyptologists and historians have guessed at how it was played by the many pictures showing the game being played. Senet is a game for two players. Two players each have 5 stones and there are 4 counting sticks which are thrown to determine the moves. The goal is to be the first to carry all your pieces off the board, while hindering your oponen. Meaning of the squares ASEB is a game for two players. Like Senet, the goal is to be the first to carry all your pieces off the board. The two players start on each of the opposite sides of the board. They then move their pieces down the central aisle toward the final field and off the board to win the game. All games include box and rules. Reward of 1€ not included. The rules are written in English and Spanish by a professional. Valid for all levels of reward. Shipping is included in the campaign. The basic version games have a lighter weight than the deluxe version, therefore the shipping cost is lower. Shipments are only made to the countries on the list. Weight less than 1kg : shipping cost between 5-9€ Weight over 1kg : shipping cost between 5-19€ Weight over 2kg : shipping cost between 10-19€
  17. This is a mastaba, "Egyptian Tomb IWS-EGY-011," from Itar's Workshop and two identical columns, I'm not sure where from. The old Ral Partha mindflayer and Reaper's Merith of the Flame are included for scale. "Mastaba" is a comparatively modern Arabic word meaning "bench." The original Egyptian hieroglyphs read "pr-djt" or "pr-djed" and meant "house of the afterlife." The hieroglyphs are gibberish (some are even sideways), which bugs me in a minor way. Just as a side note, the mastaba is hollow with a reinforcing partition in the middle. I lined it with green felt with an idea to storing related minis inside. My husband has been referring to it as a dice cup.
  18. 89022: Alahazra, Iconic Oracle as crew for the Grenadier Undead Rhino Captive Carrier. On the base is a Bones Mummy fighting for his unlife with an approaching snake, luckily for him the Rhino tries to crush it. Part of my Shifting Sands Army : http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79372-shifting-sands-glitterwolf-paints-egyptian-undead/
  19. Bones 77145: Mummy Captain. Part of my Lost World Project. WIP Here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/&page=111

  21. From Dark Fable miniatures, a pair of cultists. He looks like he's just noticed Cthulhu, and she has a smirk that says "I told you so".
  22. These are the minis that Tosek painted for me for Secret Sophie. These are the pictures that he took that are way better than the quick ones I took at the kitchen table. I loved everything he sent me and will post pictures of the other goodies once I return home but wanted to show off these painted ones now! They are Nefsokar Devourer of Ammat (14381), Khadath, Nefsokar Captain (14064), and Tomb Guard (14370). They are so cool!
  23. Whatever I decide to paint next will be a walk in the park after this guy.
