  1. So! I'm back. I haven't finished any of my other WIPs lately but I figure one more won't hurt. I'm planning on doing a film noir style desert expedition whereupon our investigators find something not of this world. I'm really excited for this one(not that I'm not excited for all my projects) but I have some hurdles to cross. I want a wall between the white and grey bones, preferably crumbly looking. Not sure where to start with that. Figure out the best way to magnetize things. And the really big one: figure out how to actually paint in the style I'm trying to do. This will involve a lot of work and time. As well as some (maybe a lot of) practice minis. I'm currently in the mock up stage. I've got the minis I want and I'm trying to stage them how I think will look good as well as imagine the wall where I want it. First stages of mock up.
  2. Hey gang! Thought I'd post the Eldritch Demon I painted recently. I decided to take a departure from the iconic green flesh mythos monster look and try a more orangey-jaundice flesh tone. Also used a yellow/orange mix to highlight the cool patterns covering the skin. Also, used the MSP Adamantium Black to give the base a neat volcanic/space rock look. I did keep the tentacles a traditional pink colour. Just seemed to fit with the whole new flesh, soft and squishy, feel (like a sea creature without its shell?)... Cheers! :) -E.E.
  3. Hello all, Starting a new WIP for a mini I'm working on for one of the players in my D&D 5e campaign. One of her characters is a Tiefling Eldritch Knight, so I have selected the glaive-weilding S'Kara to be the starting point for this project... As you can see, I have just begun. I have primed the mini, and used a pair of pliers to slightly curve her horns, to achieve a more ram-like, less devil-like look. I'm currently in the process of selecting colours for the cloth portion of her outfit. Any suggestions or ideas? (Fyi, she will have dark brown hair and olive skin). As always, comments and constructive feedback are always welcome! -E.E.
  4. Finished the last of the Yellow Sign faction, got a group pic that I'm gonna upload later but these are the final wave! WIP thread:
  5. Started Cthulhu Wars for a friend today and I think I need some help with the Yellow Sign cultists. I'm starting with the robes and I feel like something went wrong somewhere along the line, not sure exactly how to fix it. Base coated black, then drybrushed ochre through yellow, then went back through glazing ochre through yellow. Maybe a dark brown wash will help. Could use some help.
  6. For the Role Player that can't make up their mind! I give you the Eldritch Knight! or at least that is what I think it is called. I would wear armor too if I was tossing fireballs out like a crazy scooby doo villian. Another one of those Paizo Pathfinder minis prior to Reaper taking over. My friend has a bucket of them and I chose this one due to it's uniqueness. yes those are ashes and a body shaped scorch mark. TOASTY!
  7. Hey guys today I worked on my Eldritch Demon an awesome model. I painted it in flesh tones because the green mini cthulu has been done to death! As always comments are greatly received and wanted! Also a big thankyou to all who look,,like and comment on my paint jobs!
  8. Summoned forth from unknown reaches, the power of this sleeping dark god is manifested only partially in this terrible monster and is barely contained in the simple vessel and the runes upon it's flesh. I strongly considered painting the 'bumps' on this miniature's hide as glowing dots but I felt like that would be a little over the top and would come off as too 'fishy' so I opted to just let the bumps be bumps. Besides, I felt like it would take away from the menacing eyes and from the other work I'd done on the piece. A few of the transitions are a little rough, but they're pretty minor and I'm eager to work on the next Bones v. Metal challenge, as well as some SciFi contest entries. Not enough time!!! C&C always welcome.
