Deep in the Golad Mountains of Domaar, in the vale of Prin Guls between the Night Elven realm of Khimzul, and the High Elven realm of Auborlon stand the Watch Towers of Prin Guls as a first line of defense against a Night Elven attack. This is my first serious modeling for my 3d Printer, and is designed to turn an ordinary Pringles can into an Elven themed Watch Tower. These are the first pieces in what will hopefully be another modular fortress. Yes, those are Anhurians manning the battlements right now, as I only had one lone elf painted and readily available.

Hvitrafn the Strange by Red Box Games Sculptor: Tre Manor Resin with a hand sculpted base. With this one I had to shave down an standard MDF circle base (from warsenal wargaming terrain). I didn't want the base to be too high off the standard but look more natural. I think it came out very well. Hope you guys and gals like it. Thanks for looking. C&C welcome. You can see the WIP here.

Stared work on this guy finally! I sculpted the base myself. I really like that he is slight bending at the knees which made him standing on the stairs i made look more authentic. On to the painting! Texture is the name of the game from this weekend. GW: Vomit Brown (which is like a yellow brown) on the tunic. Several coats until I could not see grey from the primer. GW: Vomit Brown & Leather White (my favorite paint bottle ) [4:1] - To do some upper highlights on the all the raised areas. Dotting or Stippling with a Mixture: GW Vomit Brown mixed with Walnut brown. So the color was a little darker than the tunic's primary color. Then stippled or dotted with Walnut brown over THE ENTIRE THING. After that I did some diluted brown washes pushing into the recesses and some re-highlighting, re-shadowing, etc etc. The pants: Painted in Leather White highlighted in PURE White washed in Muddy Brown (which is a green brown.) The bag: Painted Royal Purple, highlighted with Leather white then washed in Muddy Brown

So, the story behind this character plays on the stereotype of elves as forest dwelling archers. This young gal's elven family decided to move into a town and are making their living as farmers. However, young Gwenevieve here takes great pride in her elven heritage and sneaks off when she's supposed to doing chores to practice with her grandfather's bow. I was going for a simple overalls sort of dress, baggy hand-me-down sleeves from the shirt underneath, and barefoot to convey the peasant status. I also gave her short hair as she was going for function over fashion (much to the chagrin of her poor mother). I'll start throwing paint at her sometime soon (when I sit down with my Halfling shield maiden most likely). I'm a bit disappointed by the quality of the photos, but it's my own fault since I haven't had my wife (the tech support) teach me how to use the digital camera she bought. I can't get it to focus on anything.

H'okay, hopefully I've done all this right *worry worry* I'm new to Reaper and to minis in general, and I ended up here on a mission to put together a figure for my Pathfinder character (also super new to Pathfinder). So here's what I've got for her =] I used the legs from the Aries figure as my starting point, then fished out an elven torso and pair of arms from a box of bits my friend has from Games Workshop. Her head is a leftover from an Avatars of War figure he got for his Pathfinder character. Her tail is an offcut from a Games Workshop banner thing. Her lower torso is sculpted in my me, using milliputt and a mechanical pencil, as are her horns and neck (because her head didn't sit right on her shoulders). So yeah, she's my first humanoid paint (prior to her, I've painted all of one warg) =] and while I know she's not perfect, I'm still kind of hugely proud of her, even though I do still need to finish up her base a bit more. Meep *hides*

Heeeeeey. Been away for a while. Back with different minis, same bad painting. First up is Matt Gubser's Dalyn Talas, Elven Sword Mage. Though this mini was cool (if a little silly) when I saw it; kind of was bummed about the lack of hair detail when I got it in hand. But a lot of that's just my being a bad painter. He was still fun to do up. Trying out a new background for these. Hopefully makes the pictures a little less awful. Thanks for looking.
