  1. I'm trying to get more monsters available for the random encounters in Frostgrave. First off is a Frost Giant, converted from the Pathfinder Battles: Dungeons Deep Frost Giant. She wasn't directly intended for Frostgrave, I was going to convert her to match the Frost Giant Jarl from "Giants Revisited"...then realized I misremembered the art, and she already WAS based off that piece. So she got a heavy infantry makeover:
  2. Trying to expand the bestiary for "Frostgrave". The Frost Trolls (Yetis) are former Shaggy Man from HeroClix, the apes are also former clix, and the Frost Giant is a Pathfinder Frost Giant converted to a heavy infantry type...not specifically for Frostgrave but fit the theme. First paints are applied, and Lars the Linkboy is there for scale.
  3. A few years ago I had picked up this aquarium decoration for gaming use, and not knowing what exactly to do with it I had stuck it in a cabinet and almost forgot about it. Then, while reading the Frostgrave rulebook, and about the various oddities that can be found in the city; I got the idea to make a terrain piece for my Frostgrave games that was a magically shrunken domed city that floated about the Frostgrave ruins. I separated the top piece from its original pedestal, and mounted it on a flight-stand peg and a conventional large round plastic figure base. I extended the castle grounds in the back with some Milliput so the dome, which came from a bubblegum-machine prize container, would fit. I'm really pleased with how this turned out. I think I will use it as a floating piece of terrain that moves randomly across the tabletop, or perhaps as a scenario objective. For the complete write-up on the conversion, please see my blog: http://onemoregamingproject.blogspot.com/2015/09/the-shruken-city-of-summergrove.html
  4. This week I completed Feiya, Iconic Witch from the Bones I Kickstarter Iconics and Officially Licensed Pathfinder Miniatures set. I did this figure because my playtest of the Frostgrave rules last week made we want a properly winter based figure to act as Apprentice to my Illusionist wizard. I had pressed Cassie the Gnome Wizard in to duty as the Apprentice, but was not happy with her green grass base. Meanwhile, I felt Feiya looked suitable wrapped up for cold weather adventuring. So many of the remaining wizard figures I have yet to paint just don't look dressed for a winter trek. I'm really pleased with how she came out. The Frostgrave rules say that Illusionists dress in bright, multi-colored outfits, and I wanted to bring that across in this Apprentice. My thinking was that she is young and still enjoys playing with colors and different appearances. The figure I'm using as my older Wizard, (see: http://allbonesabout.blogspot.com/2015/01/anirion-wood-elf-wizard-figure-132-of.html ) is more jaded and knows the wisdom of sometimes using camouflage and blending in. For the full write-up on my painting of Feiya, please see my Bones blog: http://allbonesabout.blogspot.com/2015/09/feiya-iconic-witch-figure-169-of-265.html
  5. I know this isn't a Reaper figure, but I was pretty happy with how it came out. This is the figure that will my animated golem from my enchanter in Frostgrave. He was meant to looks old and rusted. I used a series of washes to get that look, but all in all (minus removing him from the base and re-basing him) it only took me about 45 minutes. Well, maybe a little longer waiting for certain washes to dry. Enjoy! I give you... Rust Bucket! CAH
  6. Meet Bruendor Bloodmane. He will be leading my first warband for FrostGrave. This was also my first experience with actual washes and inks. Not too bad for my first go. **EDIT** Pic is fuzzy. I will try to upload a new one when I get home. Close up of the forehead for the rune. CAH
  7. Frostgrave Warband, includes the following minis from Reaper In order top to bottom. 77159,77175, 77024, 61011,89017,61025, 77066,03255 . One miniature of unknown origin as well, the blue feathered cloak mini in last place. Please feel free to comment if you know what it is :) ! Fun game, and great in that any minis will work for it!
  8. As soon as I saw the multipart plastic kit, I knew "Frostgrave" was another game I'd have to check out. Having recently finished some of the pieces that came with my "Nickstarter" order, I knew I'd made the right choice. I haven't quite decided how I wanted the bases to be (especially since the metal guys can't stand up right on their own), so they're just stained grey for the moment. First off, we have the metals, including the Apothecary, Enchanter Apprentice, Barbarian, and Santa Claus (or maybe an Enchanter Wizard, it's hard to tell)
