  1. I bought this Yoda pack from a local hobby shop when i was on a work trip. I got it for my friend who's a massive Yoda fan. This is the second one from the same box. Came out pretty good. I am very happy with the fade on the saber.
  2. Up next is Cad Bane. However, first some bonus Battle Droids. These guys painted up very quickly.
  3. Vader and a squad of Stormtroopers are next up. The STs have had a wash to create some depth and a heavy dry brush. Vader was primed black and has had some light dry brushing and a little detail work.
  4. So, Mr. Mouse joined me in speed painting some of my Imperial Assault Stormtroopers. Mr. Mouse's batch Pretty impressive, given he's only painted about 2 minis before, and we only spent 2 hours tonight. My Batch All in all, we have 7 Stormtroopers painted! Mr. Mouse was awesome to spend time painting with me!
  5. The forces of madness are many and varied. Ranging from the harmless mob to the terrifying star spawn. The thin barrier protecting the world is a small group of people. I will be painting up the miniatures from Mansions of Madness 2nd edition and Recurring Nightmares. Normally I would not start another work in progress while one is still unfinished, but we have been playing the game quite a bit and I have been running the Strange Aeons pathfinder set which is mythos based. So I can use plenty of cultist. These will be painted to table top quality. I also have completed a side project that was holding up my being able to paint. An in progress photo is below. Some of the cultists have already been started and but I have been mainly working on cleaning up the mold lines. I have been asked to work on one of the Chthonian so that is what I will be working on next. Fantasy flight had painted versions of the miniatures, but at least on this one I did not like their paint scheme to much. So I will be working on my own. I will probably work through most of the monsters first before starting the investigators as I have a greater need for them.
  6. Here was my next batch of completed figures for Imperial Assault. I watched Sorastro's Tutorial on You Tube, and tried to follow his steps. However, it is all with Reaper paints. Also, when I went back and watched episode IV, the officer uniforms seemed a sort of gray-green to me, so that's what I went for. I made the rank bars different for each. The highest rank is the red-based "Elite" deployment card. He's the one with gloves on and gray hair. You can see the eyes are a little wonky! Sort of too big. The sculpts had very tiny eyes, shallow, and the detail was obscured a little from my primer. During the painting of all this Imperial Assault stuff, I just have to keep telling myself "Tabletop!" so I don't get too bogged down with trying to get closer and closer to perfect. The final pic is the middling officer. I gave him a 5 o'clock shadow. That's a first for me, and I think it came out OK. If interested, here are the colors: The boots have a little Liquitex High Gloss Varnish on them. Comments welcome. Enjoy.
  7. As promised months ago, here are some better pictures of my probe droids. Simple attempt for tabletop.
  8. Here are some of my non-reaper work, from the Descent 2nd Edition board game by Fantasy Flight Magma Elemental Ettin (sorry for poor picture quality)
  9. As with many, I've recently fallen off the wagon after roughly 15 years of ignoring miniature painting, due mostly to the Bones Kickstarter, but also due to my gaming group's renewed interest in Warhammer Quest. Anyway, I've just started to take pictures, my picture rig is literally a few pieces of plasticard, my painting light, my phone's camera, and a couple of filters on photobucket. I've tried not to alter things too much electronically, but somethings definitely need "restored" when using a phone for pictures... First up, one of my first NMM attempts (just the silver armor and sword, not the gold stuff) - the figure is a lieutenant from Descent:RtL (FFG): I haven't done much basing work since I've been back at the hobby, as almost all my minis receive heavy use as game pieces. I might go back and base them later, the Micro Arts stuff is pretty cool, I got a couple dozen of those for my upcoming Bones Vampire package. There's also a small blemish on the bottom of his cloak (back). It's a chip courtesy of one of my less careful friends. I dulled it a bit in post but you can still see it's there. C+C appreciated.
