  1. I’ve been going through BONES I mostly in order, doing several WIP. This was the next. I wanted to try to improve on my OSL so he got a green magic glowing gem. Still not great, but the idea comes across. Link to WIP. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/92763-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-10-satheras/&tab=comments#comment-1965284 I didn’t bother trying to paint his eyes due to the extreme shadowing...
  2. Such a fun idea for a mini! But then you have to paint all the dragon scales. I was going for a more Asian skin tone. I tried to speed through this one since her sword was so bent. WIP link below. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/92275-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-8-janan-female-dragonslayer/&tab=comments#comment-1955669 Enjoy.
  3. Another addition from WIP completion. WIP Link here. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/91014-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-7-kagunk/&tab=comments#comment-1931906 I was going for an Ice Ogre vibe here. Being that he is likely surrounded by frost-resistant and fire-vulnerable enemies, I wanted his shield to be a fire weapon. This has always been a favorite model of mine from BONES I. I hope you like it as much as I do.
  4. Another that started as a WIP. I was going for an East Indian skin tone. I find this figure curious for a mage, with armor and a spear. And strange scalloped shapes on her back. The color washes out the difference between the orange and yellow colors, sadly. WIP Link below. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/90829-darcstaar-vs-bones-1-episode-6-devona/&tab=comments#comment-1928602 Enjoy.
  5. I take pics during WIP. But I tend to take a year off between posts to Show Off. Link to WIP to follow. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/88595-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-5-deladrin/&tab=comments#comment-1884050 My model had a miscast to the right side of her face, so I just left it as an exaggerated shadow. I went with an idea for eventually having a similar ranger-y type with seasonal Camo on her cloak, reversible with black on the inside. This is the first. Autumn. The phone camera washes out my colors a fair bit, so I tried my best to true-up wit
  6. Ada was an educated woman, so she knew how to pronounce the word “boudoir.” But because she was not excessively educated, she didn’t know exactly what it MEANT. When she encountered the word in a novel in her youth, Ada assumed, reading for context, that a “boudoir” was a sort of pleasant, informal place where women lounged around with their hair down and gossiped about things. And so, in her middle age, when she’d leased the downtown building to start her hairstyling business, one of her first investments had been a large, yet stylish sign that read ADA’S BOUDOIR. It said something abou
  7. Hello there! Now it's no secret that I'm a fan of Games Workshop minis, there's two problems with this though, I can't paint armies (I've tried, I lose interest after the first few minis) so I miss out on the interesting units, and just buying heroes gets rather expensive! Then I discovered their Underworlds game, getting little bite-sized versions of the various factions (often with fancy bases!), and now I'm obsessed. This year I want to try and put a dent in this particular pile of plastic (or, at least cancel out the new ones I'm getting), and thought a project
  8. New project page (no prices yet), should go live at 5am PST: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bamdungeondelvers/dungeon-delvers-0
  9. Looks like Miniac will be doing something to promote this, which I think will likely take it to funded. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bamdungeondelvers/dungeon-delvers I think the frogfolk are particularly fun, but they have a bunch of other stuff. Worth checking out, there's an early bird special for the STL files or the physical resin prints. Because they're doing it all in house, appears to have a pretty quick turnaround too.
  10. In case any D&D/Fantasy folks need a cute calendar for 2021: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/babybestiary/baby-bestiary-2021-calendar/ Story Owlbear cubs The Baby Bestiary 7th Annual Calendar Each year, since the inception of the Baby Bestiary, we've put together an annual calendar featuring a new talented artist to illustrate to bring to life our adorable calendar. With a different artist, we can explore the adorable through their eyes, see them experiment with new styles and interpretations of what the Baby
  11. Starting up another, now that Janan is done. Satheras, Male Warlock. He had a really bent staff. On the behind shot you can see I cut it off at the hand, wedged a bit out and re glued it into a straighter angle. I also cut him off his integral base, since it had no texture. Hoping to try to get a little better at OSL on him, with a green gem in the staff.
  12. Greetings y'all! I'm starting this thread to use as a painting blog, to help catalog my journey, and to use as a source of ongoing motivation. I have a LOT of stuff I've been putting off, that I want to get through for a homebrew campaign I'm working on, and some warbands for Frostgrave, as well. So, I'll take any extra motivation I can get Once I actually finish pieces, I'll make sure to post them in that part of the forum. To start things off, I have a dragon I've been working on for a couple of weeks, and just got to the point where it's "good enough for now," altho
  13. Brought some painting models for vacation. Finished the Hell Hound last night, didn’t WIP it. Had Yephima on my shelf of shame for a long time. If it ends up 1/100 as good as the studio version I’ll be happy. Plan on light blue skin and silvery hair, like the Bestiaries suggest. Other than that, not sure... Here she is primed with Brown Liner. That’s gonna take some work to get the skin tones brighter.
  14. Gonna start another WIP. This figure is bent, her hair is weird, and her features are MICROSCOPIC! So, I’m gonna kind of rush her. Trimmed, washed, primed in brown liner. No attempt to straighten her bend. The sword forms an S shape. Face was Terran Khaki, Faded Khaki, Amber Gold, then Splintered Bone mixed in. Then I did a half-assed lining and shading with a dilute mix of Dragon Black/Ruddy Flesh. Eyes were then done with Splintered Bone/Dragon White, and a Dragon Black/trace Ruddy Flesh dot. Had some nearly dry ?Red on the
  15. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/yetlblack/corvus-corax-miniatures-sons-of-yetl-black Story Corvus Corax Miniatures is a small hobby project created in 2013. 16. Hi Guys, Just thought i'd share this project with you. i've been working on it for a few weeks now. I run a weekly gaming session using a home brew system that we've been working on for about 20 years, but this post isn't about that - though if you're curious please send me a message i'd love to chat about it. First as is the tradition - the completed board in all it's glory. On the surface, it's nothing unusual, however hidden inside each tile is a small rare earth Magnet. I'm also placing magnets on the bottom of the miniature bases. This gives the miniature a very nice pull

  18. A dreaded sight on the field of battle the mighty Draconian chargers strike fear into the hearts of all their foes as they barrel down upon them to trample them into the earth. This my triceratops knight conversion. The Triceratops is a WizKids Nolzurs marvelous miniature, while the rider is from a Reaper bones black overlord cavalry. I use admit that this is my largest conversion yet and i got to learn several new skills in doing this. CHHAAAAAARRRRRGE! Thankyou all for looking!

  21. ...Changa and the Jade Phoenix Sorry for formatting. I've had an awful time pasting anything into the forums.
  22. Hey guys, I've been lurking and posting around these forums for nigh a while now and i thought i'd share a project that i've been working on for quite some time. It's a tabletop roleplaying Game that i've been working on for about 20 years now as a personal hobby. After much convincing, I've decided to create a 4th Edition and make it available to the world at large. The Quickstart guide is a free starter pack for the System, including how to make a character, equip them and conduct simple adventures. I'm looking at releasing a Kickstarter next year to release the f

  24. With my wife and I preparing to buy a house we've been clearing out a lot of our clutter to make packing and moving easier. We've also been working hard to bring in extra money too, and this project will hopefully do both. Today my wife signed up for a craft fair to help sell the wreaths she's been making for the upcoming holidays. From what she's heard from friends and other crafters this particular craft fair is really eclectic and pulls in quite a diverse crowd. As she told me about it that's when the idea seemed to hit us both, why not try to clear out all that terrain junk I'v
  25. Here's the bones Cave Troll! I painted some of the pustules red with white-heads on them...very gross and troll-ey. :)
