  1. I finished up the other 2! They were so much fun! Talk about some detail though. With the addition of my poison dart paint job, they had cool shields and shells! It was a lot of detail, but I think they came out alright. I'm trying to advance my painting, so please, please! Feel free to give me any criticism or advice if you see something that should be addressed. I can take it! Enjoy! ETA: The basing on these is suboptimal because they will be used on the tabletop... More basing=more stuff in the bottom of the box. :)
  2. Finally got to paint my bones! I've been working a lot, and a 12 hour shift in the ER+ an hour long drive on each end doesn't leave a lot of time for anything but sleep. I was trying to make him look like a reticulated poison dart frog, and I think I got pretty close! C&c always welcome, hope y'all like him!
  3. When I saw this little guy, I knew I had to have him. So here he is, in all his little owl riding self glory! C&c welcome!
  4. These are my latest 2 acquisitions. I got the Jessica Rich dvds (which are fantastic!) , so I was working on skin on the elf. When I was done, she looked absolutely depressed, and I couldn't figure out why. So I figured her familiar got killed, and that's why she was sad. (as a side note, I don't know how authors do it, I felt awful killing that kitty!) The ettin is for my husband, I had to go find him on eBay because he liked him so much. He really wanted the harsh transitions between the muscles, so I kind of went the exact opposite way that I had on the elf. :-) Hope you enjoy! C&c always welcome!
  5. So, the bonus challenge for the February resolutionary paint challenge was to make a miniature that 'embodied Valentine's day'. And I was reminded of the someecard that said, "Life is short, so tell people you love them. But yell it at them in German because life is also terrifying." So I went digging through my minis, looking for something with wings, and came up with either the griffon or the owlbear. When I asked the hubs, we decided on the griffon because it's funny, and because my brother's name is Griffin, so painting something pink with hearts and calling it him is funnier. (Sorry bro.) I also decided if I was going to go for it, I was going to go as ridiculous as possible.... So here he is, in all his pink, heart glory. As you can see, I made him a cute little quiver and an arrow with the hubs and my initials (awwww). And I painted his pupils as hearts (not sure if you can tell)... I would like to take this time to apologize to any sculptor I ever said anything bad about, because playing with greenstuff is not nearly as fun as I thought it should be. The bow and arrow are the completely wrong scale.. I wasn't optimistic enough to sculpt one, so I had to cut some poor Medusa's arm off. Enjoy!! C&C always welcome!
  6. Got 2 more done today! Yay for days off!! :D The lizardman is from my shelf of shame... He's been almost done for about 4 months. Now he can fight with his brother in our d&d game! C&C always welcome. Enjoy!
  7. So, between working so much, and trying to die of allergies, I haven't been painting as much. But I got these 2 guys done. I'm not really proud of them, but I am getting better at blending skin, which is why I started painting them. Also, Kord was this week's Monday Miniature. So, this is how I'm starting February for the painting challenge. :) C&C always welcome
