  1. I've got some scenic bases in the mail so I wanted to experiment with them before I use them on my winter exchange. I chopped off Michelle's broccoli base with a hobby knife then decided to replace her wobbly weapons with metal ones. I didn't have two matching swords so she gets sword and dagger instead. The sword was SOOO easy to mod. I just chopped off the old one, drilled straight through her hand with a drillbit about 1 size too small. I then used the bendy nature of Bones to my benefit and just wiggled it in there and through. The sword is held entirely by her rubber-band hands - there's not a drop of glue. The dagger was slightly more problematic because it had a pommel that was quite a bit bigger than the grip. I had to cut off the pommel (and promptly lost it), so I glued the original pommel back on. The dagger is secure as well - it might have a little bit of glue, but it's mostly friction as well. There's something weird/wrong with her right eye. Anyone else have this problem? There's zero chance I can fix the sculpt without ruining it, and I probably can't do good enough paint plastic surgery, so she might get an eye patch, or magical jewel-eye or something.
  2. When I started painting miniature figures about (10 months ago)...this was the (1st figure) that I painted (for my wife). It is also the (1st figure) in my private collection. The figure is from circa 1989 (Grenadier-Dragon Lords). The figure was a cute, but poor casting (female & cat cast as a single piece with very few details). Even though it is a poor quality miniature figure...I am still proud of it and my wife loves it.

    Female warrior...Reaper 02352

A friend of mine from California is a player in my RPG group. Comes into town about once a month...she loved the looks of this figure and asked me to paint it up as her adventure character (but not as a vampire). This is the commission piece that I painted for her. This is a playing piece (only when the player is in town to play).
  4. This is a vignette from my private collection. I love this figure, so far I have painted (5) color versions of her. In the side view photo I tried to show the (subtle, but sexy pink & white garters she is wearing). I submitted this to the Inspiration Gallery and have received no reply.

    Brother Vinni's Miniatures...

I am looking to find any figure company in the USA that sells the product line (Brother Vinni's Miniatures). If any member has such information, can you please provide it for me. I want to do a captive female figure project for my RPG game. The above name firm has (3 or 4) beautiful figures along the lines I am looking for, but I always prefer to buy in USA (if at all possible). Or if any member knows of any firm/company that makes a figure along the lines that I am looking for, I would like to hear about it. As far as I know (Reaper) does not offer a captive chained female figure...The old Ral Partha figures that I have are too small...the Hasslefree figures that I have are not what I am looking for. Thank you for your time.
  6. These are the main NPC female characters that the adventure group encounters in my RPG game. These are all playing figures and are as follows (starting in the back row): 1. Female thief (Diedra Darkwillow) 02643 2. Strumpet (Townsfolk III) 02655...(booby flash) 3. Strumpet (Townsfolk III) 02655...(panty flash) 4. Kara female archer (02528) 5. Jade dancing girl (02749) 6. Bar wench (Townsfolk I) 02583...(6 mugs) 7. Dancing girl (02448)...(coin bikini outfit) 8. Bar wench (Townsfolk I)...02583...(high tray) 9. Madam with book (Townsfolk III) 02655 10. Strumpet (Townsfolk II) 02584...(crook finger) Not pictured is (Slave girl)...featured as a solo (Show Off) gallery
  7. This is one of the female characters in my RPG adventure group (The Seekers). She is a female spell caster type of character. This is a playing piece (all pieces in this group have a high gloss finish to cut down wear from handling).
  8. This is a vignette from my private collection. I thought that this was a very cute piece when I saw it and that it would lend itself well to a cute vignette in the fantasy style.
  9. This is one of the female characters in my RPG adventure group (Sonja); based on the character (Red Sonja)...it is an old Ral Parth figure from set 02-209.

    Candy...Anime Heroine...Reaper 50024

This is a vignette from my private collection. I love this figure and think that she is cute as a bug. I had fun painting her and the vignette concept was a school girl with her books and a bad-a** gun.
  11. This is one of my RPG group playing/gaming pieces. Her name is (Sheba) and is a huntress in the game. I tried to paint her in the subdued natural earthly colors of (skins & furs). I gave her a very subtle scar from the eye bottom to the mouth corner (don't know if you can see it or not)...it is a trophy that she has from her past...I submitted this figure to the Inspiration Gallery and have heard nothing.
  12. This is another vignette from my private collection. This is another figure that I love and have painted (4) color versions of her. I submitted this figure to the Inspiration Gallery and have heard nothing.
  13. Another vignette from my private collection and another figure that I love...have painted (4) color versions of her so far. I submitted this to the Inspiration Gallery and have heard nothing...I am starting to get to the point that maybe I am not doing the Inspiration Gallery submissions correctly (but I am waiting to see).

    Mermaid...Fantasy Lords Set 6004...

This was a figure that an artist friend wanted me to paint & mount for him. So we did a trade out...I did the figure for him and he did some adventure persona drawings of my adventure group characters. He requested the "gloss" finish!

    Female Elf Pirate...Reaper 03482

This is another figure from my private collect. I love the beautiful simple but graceful body lines of this figure. It was a joy to paint...I have sent a vignette version of this figure to the Inspiration Gallery.

    Oktoberfest Fraulein...Reaper 50118

A figure from my private collection...I love everything about this lovely figure; it was a joy to paint. I have sent the Inspiration Gallery a vignette version of this figure for display (done in green).

    Pirate Sophie-Reaper 01420

A friend (who loves pirate miniatures) asked me to paint this figure (but without the wings & parrot); so I added a wine bottle and did her as a standard female pirate figure.

    Female slave...Ral Partha Set 01-015

This is a figure I painted for myself (what I consider small figures that Ral Partha produced). I am also currently working on other such small female figures from the (Elmore - Silver & Steel) sets. I love these tiny versions!

    Colette Du Bois...Malifaux WYR3029

This is one of the female figures in my collection (that I painted for myself); I love the whole "steampunk" sort of look and the figure was a darling one to paint.
  20. This was a commission painting I did for a friend. He wanted a modern " hot " looking witch that was still in the fantasy theme. I had fun and really enjoyed painting this miniature. I hope the viewers like it.
  21. Not my first mini painted, but the first one I'm willing to share, as many of the earlier ones weren't up to my standards. I only bought this mini to practice on, buy it's inspired me to play an archer paladin as my next PFS character. I didn't even try to detail the eyes. I just don't seem to be able to work at that fine a level of detail. Does anyone have hints for traning may hands to work on really tiny details?
  22. Given the problems I had with painting black on Tiviel, and how much I like black, I figured I would try to get better at painting it. The Cleric of Calistria was already primed, between her "official" color scheme being mostly black and looking more like a rogue than a cleric, I decided to do her next. I did the eyes first, getting something that I liked on the 3rd try. I don't think my camera is physically capable of getting a good picture of the face, but I attached the best one I could get. I knew that I didn't want to paint her armor and hair pure black, and I also wanted them to look like different blacks, so I started off with very dark colors. I did her hair with Dark Elf Shadow, but that looked too purple, so I put a black wash over it. It is very close to pure black at this point. The armor is a mix of black, MSP Winter Blue, and Dark Elf Whadow. I plan to highlight the hair towards Dark Elf Highlight and the armor towards Winter Blue. The skin is a mix of MSP Woodland Brown and MSP Caucasian Flesh. Originally my plan was to use that as the shadow and highlight to Caucasian Flesh, but I kind of like how that color turned out and may use it as the midtone instead. Next steps are to color in the little straps and doodads on her pants, boots and shirt. Haven't decided on a color for these, but it probably won't be yellow because I will be mega frustrated trying to get good coverage of yellow over so many tiny things without getting all over the pants. Her daggers also need a few more colors than just dark brown. C&C much appreciated!

    Guyver

I am looking for a 28mm scale female guyver mini. Or something that would work for that. It could even be a male one, I've done gender changes. Does anyone know where I can find a guyver-like mini?
  24. I am quite the amatuer when it comes to painting minis. However, I find it a lot of relaxing fun. My D&D group is only halfway (?) through the original full DragonLance modules, so we need a lot of minis for all of the characters! The problem I run in to is finding a mini that best suits the character. Case in point was finding a female dwarven monk for my new character Ulfa. I couldn't find anyone without big weapons! I came across "03363: Dannin Deepaxe, Female Dwarf" and decided to try my hand at modification. I removed the axe and shield and tried to reform the hands. Not the best photographer, but here are the results:
