  1. When the Space Pope absolutely needs someone to die very publicly and messily, he calls upon the services of a Mother Superior. One woman armies with no regard for the collateral damage they cause, towns, cities (and, according to legend, the occasional planet) are reduced to ruins as the Mother Superior single-mindedly pursues her target. Often the eternal struggle to protect Mankind from the Horrors that lurk beyond the stars requires subtlety, but occasionally, you want to send a stonking great message about the consequences of meddling with things you don't understand. Presenting a Mother Superior (AKA Morvenn Vahl, a hero from Warhammer 40k's Sisters of Battle faction), a terrifyingly unstoppable force of divine judgement. Bit of a mixed bag this one, I'm happy with a lot of it, but some bits could be better (like the terrible job I did on her face). At least she's finally done now. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  2. Another one from August. From the Greek Odyssey expansion in B5. She has just enough detail to be interesting without being overwhelming to paint. Wish the casting had been a little sharper. I had to outline a lot to make things stand out.
  3. One of last year's limited release figures that I painted during the summer. She has the right amount of detail, I spent some time trying to do NMM on her armor and weapon. Felt that the pose was a bit dull and static, and her face is odd. Liked how the green part of her cloak came out, not so happy with the yellow, need to practice more,
  4. So here's another from the last year. I was unmotivated at first because the facial detail was a bit lacking but I like the way it turned out.
  5. Presenting the Frost Giant Heroine from Reaper. Not my best work, I'm still not great at getting all the mold-lines off these PVC minis, plus I was painting her to help work through some issues I was having so she's a bit on the rough and basic side. Was still a lot of fun to paint up though, I'll have to get the other one done now. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  6. This is the Bones version of the iconic character, painted in a rather quick and dirty fashion. There was a lot of metal and chain mail, which I did not spend time on, and a few details which I picked out. In retrospect I could have brightened up the armor some, but since she's likely to go on the table as a generic fighter I didn't feel the need to make her special.
  7. AKA: Sophie's mom. This is a model that really needs to be made in metal. It's just awful in plastic. Anyway, she sat on my paint table a long time before inspiration broke through and I did the wings. The rest just took patience. Frontal view also available
  8. Picked up a few of these a year or two ago and am slowly getting them painted. They have a different feel from Reaper's usual models. Sister vampire in a different color scheme.
  9. Classic old school vampiress sculpt by Sandra Garrity. Rawr! She's a bit petite by current standards, so I built up her base just a bit. But, oh, how that cloak flies! And the ruffles edges on her shroud gown! I did the back in a cooler purple:
  10. Hard to go wrong with sexy female demons, but this one was a devil in more than one sense of the word from start to finish. Despite being cast in metal she is pretty fragile. The trident broke off and for years she sat in my box of unpainted figs, until one day I found the little pointy bit. Her tail, likewise, kept bending and i was sure I'd lose that too. Did her skin with the Bright Skin triad, because that's been waiting patiently for years as well. Her face is a mess, but overall she came out ok.
  11. Any Spaceport bar, where hard-bitten adventurers gather, will have a regular willing to regale strangers with tales of Lady Vulnavia's exploits, and most of the tales contain a reason behind her always veiled face. Is she secretly an exiled alien princess, or was she badly scarred duelling the King of the Space Pirates? Only the Lady knows and she's not telling. Presenting Lady Vulnavia, woman of mystery and leader of the Starstriders. She was part of the (now OOP, I think) Killteam:- Rogue Trader boxset from Games Workshop. Not one of my best paintjobs, but I'm still pretty happy with how she turned out. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  12. Presenting the Gladiator, part of the Echoes Of Death series from Kingdom Death. Another one rescued from the Cupboard Of Unfinished Things. My Kingdom Death minis always turn out fairly hit or miss, and I think this one falls a bit on the miss side, but I like the job I did on her shield. Just wish they'd stop with the dramatic dust clouds, can never figure out how to paint them! As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  13. Presenting Tirinha Fallowheart, a Dreadmere faction mini made by Reaper. Didn't put much effort into this one, it's a nice mini but I think mine is a bit miscast (her details are a little soft and mushy in places). As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  14. Also available in METAL and RESIN. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/alphateamsurvivors/women-and-scifi-vol2?
  15. Presenting Lysette, a mage from the Bones USA line by Reaper. Started on this one back in January, but got stuck on her dress so she spent a while in the Cupboard Of Unfinished Things. Unfortunately, my camera doesn't like her sky blue hair and it's really blown the colours out, she looks a tad better in hand. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  16. Aline The Bold from Artisan Guild 3D printed on my Elegoo Mars. WIP https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/92913-aline-the-bold-rogue-by-glitterwolf/&tab=comments#comment-1968546 Not happy with this one, the primer made her gritty, it took me a long time to finally finish her. Oh well, another mini done, not my best stuff but her she is anyway.
  17. Printed this out a while ago and made a base for her with the Greenstuffworld Cobblestone Roller and a twig. The primer came out a bit chalky will try to remedy that. But for now I've basecoated her boots. Leather can be a bit rough so it's alright.
  18. This is a Patrick Keith sculpt from the Warlord range and I have loved it since it came out years ago. She would be a really cool player character, I don't know why we don't see her more often. Great dynamic movement with this one. Anyway, I threw some color on her, so maybe she'll end up on the table one day.
  19. I painted her up as a fun project. Let me know what you think. I am trying to improve my painting abilities. The purple marking on her thigh was supposed to be a skull tattoo, it didn't really work as well as I had hoped.
  20. Her face is way lighter in real life. In the pics she looks like she's got stubble...
  21. Such a fun idea for a mini! But then you have to paint all the dragon scales. I was going for a more Asian skin tone. I tried to speed through this one since her sword was so bent. WIP link below. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/92275-darcstaar-vs-bones-i-ep-8-janan-female-dragonslayer/&tab=comments#comment-1955669 Enjoy.
  22. Artisan Guild 3D Design. Printed on my Elegoo Mars. Part of my Horde of the North Project. WIP here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79398-horde-of-the-north-glitterwolf-paints-barbarians-and-mammoths/&tab=comments#comment-1686478 Here she is. For those interested she is a free sample on Thingieverse.
  23. Presenting the Chimera, a monster from the game Etherfields by Awaken Realms. Not super happy with her skin, it went blotchy and all my attempts to fix it made it worse! Despite that, I think she ended up pretty snazzy. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  24. Hello everyone, here are pictures of the third model I entered in the Pathfinder painting contest. This is the metal version of 60009 Seoni the Sorceress sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. The challenging part on this one was painting the tattoos and the other freehand on her clothes.
  25. Recently finished this lovely mini from Dark Sword. Toyed with a few ideas but the winter theme ended up being the one that stuck. I wish I had had more time to spend on it but I am happy with how she turned out.
