  1. https://www.facebook.com/GamestartEdizioni/ https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2031918013/810800705?ref=493163&token=c06e631e On July 5, the new project by Gamestart Editions "Fantasy World Creator" will be launched on the Kickstarter platform, designed by role players for role players. FWC arises from the need to unify in a single product different tools useful for roleplayer and those who create adventures. On the market, there are anonymous rewritable sheets for maps, a few miniatures from high cost and different rigid supports of the most varied materials: many things but unstructured and that would require high costs to have in hand something sufficient to a game setting, all that it is impractical especially for those who approach roleplaying but want to immediately enjoy the immersive. "Fantasy World Creator" overcomes all these gaps by bringing together in a single box multi-settings modular planks with standard movement grid (2.5 cm), vertical tokens that reproduce dozens of different monsters and all the available classes of the major GDRs combined with horizontal tokens for quick settings of the environments; all accompanied by a "state" token to indicate effects of spells and abilities and from character planks to keep track of momentary increases during combat. A fundamental feature of FWC is that all the parts of the support are totally rewritable with dry ink markers, so as to ensure infinite reuse and versatility and to maximize this point have been inserted "blank" vertical tokens, totally customizable, to add anyone in adventures. Particular mention should also be made of the materials chosen for high strength and laminated with specific plastics on both sides for additional strength and reliability during game sessions. Versatility and completeness are the cornerstones of this add-on, combined with a "hand-drawn" graphic that will leave intact the philosophy of "paper, pen and imagination" that has made the role-playing game famous all over the world. Analyzing in more detail FWC from the Kickstarter page we find 3 different proposals The "Base Beginner Hero" package: with contents closer to those who start playing from lower level characters and containing specific planks for "Dungeon", "Wildlands" and "Castle" settings, combined with more common and recurrent environmental tokens (both for exteriors and interiors, such as trees, tables, stairs, etc.). The character compartment has the 6 most used classes and middle-class monsters; the extra features include the "state" tokens and quick flicks. Despite being an "Entry level" product, it is still complete and will be offered at a price comparable to that of a basic D&D manual. The "Advanced Master Hero" package contains the most interesting components: in addition to the "Base" package, there are planks in the additional "Subterran" and "Urban interiors" settings, combined with larger environmental tokens (up to 20 cm) including roofs; this last implementation, although it may seem trivial at first sight, is instead very useful not to reveal the interiors of buildings (read planks "urban interior") without the players decide to enter and allowing, thanks to the grid here, to fight and move as if you were on a higher level, which is very useful in stealth missions. In this package will be present the monsters of greater size and the characters of other 6 more specific classes; central is also the presence of a Dragon, with a token of size "Gargantuan". As a third package there will be a very limited "Artist" version consisting of 3 highly discounted "Advance" boxes, plus the possibility of inserting a character (or a monster) with your face and an official t-shirt with original logos and illustrations. The original illustrations are in fact what, thanks to FWC, will make you seem to live your adventure in an illustrated book. All the characters and the monsters are the work of two Italian artists, Elisa Serio and Manuele Brandani. Their technique is a direct pen on paper, all freehand; a unique style for a unique definition. The environmental tokens are instead illustrated, always by hand, by Andrea Alemanno, another emerging artist in Italy. "Fantasy World Creator" has already been called "The Dungeon Master's Egg of Columbus" according to its supporters. Crowdfunding will be essential for the production of this project and will allow all those who want to immediately experience the role-playing experience at 360 °, to pre-purchase the first print run at a definitely lower price and to take advantage of some promotions limited to the launch of the Kickstarter. Appointment then to July 5 for the launch! Stay tuned!
  2. This is a very cool RPG product where you'll find a use for all those Mythos minis you've been collecting. From the kickstarter: The Sassoon Files will be released as a PDF and a printed book, approximately 150 - 200 pages long. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1918458549/the-sassoon-files

  5. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/splinteredlightminis/28mm-lesser-goblin-horde?ref=discovery_category_newest Splintered Light Miniatures is pleased to announce our 28mm Lesser Goblin Horde Kickstarter will begin Monday, February 18 at 6:00 PM and will run 14 days. These were sculpted by Bob Olley and stand 15-16mm tall. We will be offering an Early Bird gift for anyone who signs up in the first 24 hours at various pledge levels. These Lesser Goblins will likely be recognizable to many as having been available on the Splintered Light Miniatures website before. Originally, they were intended for 15mm but due to their bulk, I think they really work best with 28mm figures. The money from the Kickstarter is intended to retool some of the molds to better fit 28mm packs and perhaps some new Hedgerows and Heroes armies. We will also have a variety of Add-ons, including cavalry packs, a were-creature pack, and some Hill Trolls. Finally, we will be offering some sculpts as stretch goals that have never been officially released to the public. You can see more pictures at << commerce link removed>>

  7. Aether Captains returns on Kickstarter in April 18th by MAGE Company & Ninja Division! An asymmetric steampunk board game of villainous sky pirates and heroic naval zeppelins in epic conflict above the skies of Arkady! We currently develop the Kickstarter page by adding videos, images etc. Check out the page and subscribe here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/magecompany/56249778?token=e237ce24 What is Aether Captains? A steampunk board game for 1-5 players here one player commands the mighty naval zeppelins of the Grand Compact: Dauntless and Dominion. As Commander, you have been tasked by the Emperor to defend the Grand Compact and Arkady from the merciless sky pirates. With your staunch crew of steam welders, engineers, navigators and gunners, you fly with honor to confront the pirates threatening Arkady. The remaining players command waves of attacking sky pirates, each with their own unique objectives which may pit them against any player when it results in the greatest profit for themselves. Infamous and feared, you have risen through the cutthroat cadres to become a War Captain. You swear to never rest until you control the skies and the Grand Compact falls! Aether Captains offers a unique gaming experience and playstyle which begins with the different roles players assume. The Navy Commander protects Arkady from the raiding War Captains, using a “points selection†system. The War Captains who are attacking Arkady play using an “action choice†system. Although War Captains have the same goal of raiding Arkady, they do not play cooperatively except when it will result in the greatest benefit for them based upon each player’s unique objectives. Aether Captains use 6-sided dice to form the different ships which compose the fleet of the Navy Commander and the War Captains. These “dice-ships†play a strategic role in the game, but players do not roll them. The dice-ships represent the power and life of each player’s fleet. All ships begin the game with their starting face up. As the ships take damage, players turn the die face to the next side. Each side of the ship’s dice represent several numbers: attack, strength, and value. Each War Captain recruits a fleet of up to three dice-ships with a value equal to or lower than five points. Each War Captain plays the game with their own unique objectives. Each objective card creates different elements and conditions in the game, increasing the replayability. Each objective has an Entry Point, which specifies a city or an area on the game tiles where the War Captain’s fleet begins the game. Aether Captains uses twelve-sided dice (d12) as a randomizer for attacking, damage, value of resources, and other elements of the game which require a randomizer. Aether Captains attributes are mechanically built upon a small set of cardinal numbers: 2, 3, 4, 6. A D12 nicely combines with these cardinal numbers for multiplying and dividing, and provides the game with a smooth and natural feeling. The ship miniatures are used to mark your fleet’s location and movement on the game board as they make their way over the skies of Arkady. Movement can be affected by not only other players’ ships, but by the wind and weather. Choose the path you take carefully. The enemy is waiting, hidden in the clouds—ready to attack! The dice used in the game act as miniature ships for the players. As a ship takes on damage, the dice are rotated to show different faces and the players can see the damage to their ships mounting. So you get a nice realtime visual effect of the ship in trouble. Cannons on sections of the ship also lose range as damage is taken so it is important for the player to spend time repairing the ship which takes away from attack and defense so there is a strategic balance to contend with. Here you see all the 6 dice of a zeppelin ship from the top to the bottom. From the left to the right you see the different faces of each die while it gets damaged more and more.
  8. I did not see this posted anywhere so I thought I'd share. KAMB is an easy to learn, fast paced RPG where you play a Kobold. You die, a lot. They're celebrating their 20th anniversary and are running a kickstarter to re-release the original zine that started it all, but with better rules. I play this every year at Origins in a 100 player game called the Kobold Midnight Massacre and can confirm that it's a great time of silly hijinks and horrible death checks https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/9thlevel/kobolds-ate-my-baby-20th-anniversary-zine-quest

  15. Pendraken is a company that does a wide range of 10mm historical and fantasy minis. Occasionally under other trade names they branch out into some other stuff like terrain or larger figs. In this case they are doing 28mm moderns under the trade name Militia Miniatures. Since their very friendly forum is my second home as far as posting about the hobby, I figured I would share this here even though I don't really do modern conflicts. What is Militia Miniatures? Militia Miniatures was first launched through Kickstarter in 2014, with an initial set of 10 modern mercenary personalities. 139 backers helped us reach our goal and all of the pledges were delivered within 2 months! It's taken a bit longer than we'd hoped but we're now back with a fantastic new sculptor and another 50 sculpts, all suitable for wargaming, roleplaying, or simply collecting and painting! For this project, we've had 50 new 28mm sculpts produced by the extremely talented Paolo Fabiani, which are all waiting to go into moulds. If we can hit and exceed our target then we've got some nice extra goals planned... Here is the link to the KS.

  21. Some friends are doing this, under their Infinite Dimensions Games, though I'm not involved. The Kickstarter will take place in March and is for digital files for 3D print. If I remember correctly there are no physical rewards. While people should hold off until the details of the crowdfund are released, my understanding is that the core set is done, any stretch goals will pay for the labour of doing the design/sculpting of those items only, so the core set would be ready as soon as funding period is over. They have a Facebook and Instagram and more for lots of previews (but I'm not linking because I'm not sure what on those sites will break forum rules), and if anyone is attending BreakoutCon this year in Toronto, they will be there displaying.
  22. Surprised I did not see this mentioned yet. So my question here once people look at it is this really worth it? The cost seems high given you can get Rosemary & Co or other company Kolinsky brushes far cheaper. What makes these worth the extra cost? I know you get the brush soap (which I would think most of us have already) and a nice case (not really needed perhaps). But seems like $65ish with shipping for 4 brushes seems high.
  23. Relaunched and funding: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/backspindlegames/mournequest-0 An Adventure Game filled with Myth & Folklore from the heart of the Emerald Isle. MourneQuest is a cooperative board game for 1 to 4 players.
  24. <<<MOD>>> Link to the Live Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/troubadour/hagglethorn-hollow?ref=project_link The info says it's coming to Kickstarter on September 26th. I hadn't heard anything about this until this Adam Savage's "Tested" video showed up in my Youtube "recommended" section: https://youtu.be/ebQU7GipJcA The buildings are beautiful! And the living trees are inspired. (I love the Tree-ceratops and Tree-Rex!) Though it says 3D files in the video, the text under the video says they will be selling it as physical product.
