I recently started playing a game of 2nd Edition D&D with some friends (not my normal gaming group). As it's my first time playing 2nd Ed. in 15 years, I thought I'd go with something easy. Then I realized no one else wanted to play a mage. So instead I'm playing a Gnome Illusionist. What a great excuse to paint another Gnome!! (and quickly, with his AC of 8 and 5 HP he may not last long). So I present Flizbit von Klaus, Illusionist Extrordinaire! I'd planned to grab a background and take some nicer shots, but forgot and now he's quite shiny with wet sealer (we play tomorrow) so these will have to do. He was a blast to paint (I loves me some Stonehaven Gnomes!) and quick. I did him in 3 sessions, maybe 5-6 hours total, while giving my wife lots of guidance on painting her paladin (77063: Duke Gerard)). I don't usually use a lot of bright colours either, but he really wanted them.

Yes, another Gnome. Who doesn't need more Gnomes?? This guy I'm using for my character in 2nd Ed. campaign I'll be playing with some friends. Should be an interesting contrast with the 5th Ed. campaign I'm running with a different group of friends. It will also be my wife's first time playing D&D at all (she's playing a paladin, and will be painting up 77063: Duke Gerard btw). Here's a quick pic of him straight out of the packaging. I've since cleaned him up and given him a good scrub.
