Hello, This post is mainly for me to get my ideas out on an adventures/ building my world, that I want to write. Things maybe out out sorts, but sometimes that helps me get more organized. Any and all commits are welcome, but do not be offended if I do not use said suggestions. I am using the GURPS system, so I may drop an NPC or three with stats in here as well. Adventure Idea: In the town where the adventures start out in is a adventures guild hall. Adventuring parties are formed there and then said parties assemble and will work a job that the group picks. If the party can not agree on an adventure then their 'sponsor' chooses for them. (change sponsor to supervisor or something) WT: A tale of lovers. two of the contracts at the guild are to help find missing children. one is the son (17) of a wealthy merchant and the other is the daughter (15, just a few days? from 16, the legal age of marriage) of a poor farming family. the idea is no matter which contract the party takes, they end up working both as the two kids are in love and have run off together as the merchants son has a arranged marriage that is close to being done. The party will track the missing child to the next village, maybe further? Maybe by the time they are found, the two are married??

Is there anyone who might be interested in a PBP 4e GURPS lite (rules light, no crazy math) portal horror/ mystery modern day adventure. 1) Gurps 4e is published by Steve Jackson Games, and the free "lite" version of the rules is available online here. 2) This world is adapted by me from the fiction of Ian Rogers with my own additions. 3) Character creation rules NO MAGIC OR SUPER POWERS or cinematic skills/abilities 100 points available up to 50 points in disadvantages and 5 quirks as well. If your character concept is disabled, then there's leeway to go over this, but needs discussion with me first If you have 4e books or the character creator app, feel free to go for it. Otherwise I will post a list of templates and where they're located that I've vetted to guide you beyond the lite rules. A skill at 12/13 is considered professional quality. higher gets you a better ability to handle tough situations and improve chance at a critical. Really high skills might get notoriety (could be good or bad). Useful guidance http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?p=369148 Also this free pdf condensing skills info should be useful 4) This is set in Toronto and Ontario Canada primarily. Your character doesn't need to be from there, you just need to have an idea of what you're doing there, and specifically to start, what you're doing in the PATH specifically (this will be how you are all introduced). After reading about the world basics, you will also need to think about any supernatural/ blacklands experience your character has had... if any, and if/how they were affected by it. The World Basics I'm hoping to be able to do a few posts a week, but because I'm new to this, and have limited availability it might be slower than I want. I'm unsure about the number of players - this could work with only a few. More later. Feel free to ask questions or express interest. If you have and use a skill that will allow you to obtain info/ achieve goal to advance plot, that will happen. I won't make people roll until something happens or things end. This site seems to have a decent character generator. There`s step-by-step at the top of the page, and it auto-calculates. Please print to pdf or printscreen or recopy. so I can review. If you need a template, please let me know. Please set point maximum to 100 (it defaulted to 300 for me). Current Characters list: 1)Magnus Albertson @Dilvish the Deliverer 2)Sammy @Arkady 3) Sam Travis @Corsair 4)TBD @Chaoswolf 5) Raoul @Colonel Kane 6) Morgan Faustus @Kangaroorex There will be a hard cap at 6 players. And maybe only 5 total. We're closing in on being able to start things.

I've got a new gaming group and they have expressed strong interest in using minis and maps on the table. So I'm looking for figures that fit our characters. We're playing GURPS in a modern alternate universe where magic is real, things are weird, and slightly silly. We've got: -- the genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist -- the sexy female cat burglar with a cat fetish -- a dwarf minotaur, with an axe -- an anthropomorphic cat-man who plays football -- a teenage witch -- a caveman And we're all college students. I'm willing to do basic conversions, in fact I already started chopping up 14131: Elsabeth for the cat burglar (she uses a whip) and I pulled Juliet the mage out of my Bones pile to use for the witch. I'm taking suggestions for the rest, looking for Bones to keep it cheap and easy to do conversions. The minotaur and the cat-man are the ones I think I'll have problems with.

One of the minis I got out of the Box of Goodwill =P Had to do research to figure out what it was. It's from Steve Jackson games, part of their Uplift series I'm painting mine up as a Pacific White Sided dolphin. Not sure if I should leave the walker in tones of gold or do it in silver. Would silver contrast with the dolphin too much?

So, now that I'm getting a Ton of Bones and a nice chunk of Stonehaven Dwarves I really think it's time to expand my group. Currently it's mostly one or two friends and myself that are interested in the painting of miniatures and such, whereas the rest of our group is just about gaming. We try to get together once a week for a full day on Saturday in Aumsville, but it's likely we'll aim for Salem as our main venue moreso, as people are moving here (I already have as have a couple others) and a lot of them go to Chemeketa. Once school starts up they'll also be in Salem more often during the week, so likely throw in some hanging out here and there then too. Really, I'm just looking for anyone to hang out with that is interested in miniatures enough to at least get these bones. Maybe plan something out for when they come so we can all get together and motivate each other to paint them instead of just marvelling at their awesomeness. I'm also willing to sell/trade some miniatures from this kickstarter to people who just plain can't get the money right now or whatever else if they live in Salem or around the area, presuming they're also willing to either game with us or let us game with them or whatever else. I'm not too big of a fan of the FLGS here because they're quite a distance away from where I live in Salem and more recently they've become less and less interested in non-card gamers and their staff likewise has become less and less knowledgeable on non-card subjects. (Recently a friend went there who had just got into miniatures and asked what all he would need to get started painting and the guys there managed to sell him a brush and some paints. That's it.) So yeah, just looking for anyone interested in gaming and/or miniatures around the area of Salem, OR as I know there's tons of you, you just all hide somewhere... And it's apparently not Borderlands... See very few groups there, although there's a decent amount of wargamers, just not a lot for pen and paper gaming usually.
