  1. Anyone use this stuff? I'm pinning and gluing a mess of Dwarven Berserkers for Warlord, and I need some gap filling and support. Thanks.
  2. Little conversion work i did and painting still needs touch ups and clean ups.
  3. Alright, so I spent a considerable amount of time on the HeroQuest elf. The main focus of my time with him was to try and suss out how to do proper eyes, I did a little working with the gem stuff, and I was trying to make shadows and highlights that were believable and semi-attractive (I felt this was a wash. I did some decent coloring, but either my technique for blending was bad and caused some blotching, or my craft paints just aren't good enough for this). I also tried my hand at some freehand on his capelet. They look decent in hand, but this photo definitely reveals some messiness I
  4. Here are a few from the LOTRs line. . . This was my first attempt at "point of source" lighting. I call it that but it probably has a different name. Gandolf was painted from the "Mines of Moria" part of the movie, this being the only actual time I can think of where he had and used the light stone on top of his staff. I based and painted it with a stone floor, merging the entire base as if a continuous part of the floor by carving cracks into the side as well as the surface. A granite look so to speak. . . . This is a limited edition Bilbo figure. The only way
  5. revenant knight unit more revenant knight 20 man revenant unit 2 Catapult and crew Wraiths Models are from Reaper, Mantic, GW and Hell Dorado
  6. Ok so maybe I should have added him to the Furious Painting thread, but I think he deserves his own. I wasn't worried about trying to make him look like Boromir from the movies, rather I was aiming for a good Bard adventurer for DnD games.
  7. So I am getting back into painting miniatures after a long, long hiatus. In preparation for this I have been going through my paints and seeing what, if any, are still good. I used Games Workshop paints almost exclusively back then and really loved the quality, price and ease of clean up. These are all from the early to mid 90s and still seem in good shape. My question is - how does Reaper Paints compare? I'm getting the Kickstarter Bones miniatures sets and saw they have some good deals on 24 paints of what look to be pretty useful colours. I just want to know if any of the 'old timers
  8. So this is my third project... my first two are here . I wanted to try to base projects moving forward in order to give everything a more finished appearance. So I spent this afternoon getting to this point... I was worried about the mini having the appearance of sinking into the surface so i took some bits of a cut up credit card and affixed them to the underside of the feet.... looking now its a bit high... i may build up the ground a bit or just chalk it up to lessons learned for next time... Please feel free to comment and such..
  9. So I just got into painting minis, i don't even play any miniature games ... yet anyway, but i wanted to post a couple pics to show the first couple completed projects My first attempt, The emperor's champion Second go round, Not quite sure i like so much metallic in one place so i tried something different. Reaper's Torrent (i know its supposed to be water but i think the molten rock looks cool... maybe I'll take 50141: Inferno and try to pull off Ice or water Just started playing around with basing so im going to try to have a more finished looking end product moving forward.
