  8. This week I completed the commander-in-chief figure for my 10mm Lizardman Army: The Mage-King of the Lizardmen. For the base of it I used the Games Workshop Lizardman "Tetto'eko" figure, which I was fortunate enough to get a good deal on from a friend at a convention Flea Market last year. To make the conversion from 28mm to 10mm I did a couple modification. First, I cut the tall feathers off of each of the side partitions to reduce the overall height appearance. And then I simply didn't add the pair of pillars that are suppose to go on the deck, and the three that are mounted underneath. After I assembled the throne, I test fit different arrangements of Pendraken 10mm Lizardmen until I found a pleasing composition. It was then just a matter of painting the throne and its occupants. I am pleased with how it came out. I think the original model is just scale-neutral enough to make a convincing king-sized 10mm throne.
  9. I decided to finish off a number of models off my painting table. These have been on my desk for quite a while. I am planning to use a red or something similar on the model. Comments welcome.
  10. Hi ! A little Liberator for AoS ( beuuuurk :( ... )
  11. Someone has been dumping Skaven minis at my local Half Price Books, and I've been snatching them all up. I recreated the color scheme I used over 15 years ago on this same mini, but sadly I do not have a picture to compare to, and the original has long since been sold during a downsize. Either way, I know he looks better now than he did then. Despite having roots playing GW games and still playing Warhammer Quest at least once a year, I've no love for the modern company that is GW. Some of their sculpts just really appeal to me though. Had to buy this fella. Sad that they are going away from their classic fantasy look and trying to make both games look like 40k. Pretty silly considering how awesome minis like this are.
  12. Resolutionary Models for May Some Games Workshop Black Orcs that have been given an experimental speed paint job. In no particular order: Grunka-Lunka, Grunga-Bunga, Garrgha-Lunka, Lunkga-Gronka, and their other brother Clyde. I should ought to have painted a musician. I had one in the pile. There was one armed with a drum in there and that would have worked for the music, bard, instrument bonus challenge thing. Oh well.
  13. Hi ! Oldies powaaaaaa ;) : https://octopusworkshop.wordpress.com/2015/05/28/citadel-oldies-keeper-of-secrets/
  14. Hi ! Just for fun, a old Heroquest mini tabletop :) (I loveeee oldies mini ;))
  15. Hi ! Just a little marines :
  16. First off, the title is a result of currently rewatching Chuck, one of my favorite TV shows. What this is, is a work in progress of the projects I have planned for the next two months. Let's just say, I think I am insane. I have 5 for ReaperCon, 2 commissions for friends, and if I have time 2 for me. So without further ado, let me introduce my victims. First up the lovely Tinley. This beauty has been slightly modified and will be my entry in the open category for ReaperCon. I am pretty happy with her as this is the first time I have done any modifications. Next up are two ladies for the painters category. Dark Sword's Steam Punk Babe will be painted up as a Sci Fi Babe, using the stock photo for the Star Wars the Old Republic female smuggler as inspiration. Representing Reaper, we have Betty the Space Heroine and her little friend. If it looks like I have the time, my last entry will be a diorama staring the Queen of High Elves and Praying Paladin in a castle room. The commissions are for two friends from my gaming group. They are a web exclusive Space Marine from GW and Nicodem from Malifaux. Luckily the guys do not have a deadline and told me just to take my time. Lastly we have Rhaine from Reaper, who will serve as my next PC, and Magda, who I have wanted to start since I got her. But you did not come here to read text, so is the line-up all prepped and primed. The paladin has not been primed as I have been having issues with attaching his arm.
  17. I recently ordered a GW Empire Hurricanum, mainly just so I could paint up and use the orrery that is part of the piece separately, in my D&D games for times when I want to set up a wizard's lab, or arcane library, or star gazer cult, etc. So I assembled and painted that part first. I am now assembling the rest of the piece and the miniatures and will try to paint them soon too, but I will leave the orrery unattached. It was fun to paint the different planets/suns as it was different than most stuff I have painted so far.
  18. I rarely paint GW miniatures, since I have never played Warhammer, but I'd been wanting to paint up a Cairn Wraith for a long time after I saw one in another painter's gallery, so I finally broke down and bought one, and painted it right away in a single sitting on Saturday.
  19. Large pictures and a couple more angles on Tumblr here.
  20. Here is my latest and greatest. Castilians of Dol Guldor. They would also make great sword wraiths or something like that for an RPG.
  21. This post is a follow-up to A Pair of Very Old Dwarfs and a Very Old Gnome. The best I could come up with for a size comparison was a work-in-progress conversion of a current GW plastic Dwarf warrior model. As you can see, they are pretty similar in size, but the overly-muscled design of the newer dwarfs makes the King look quite the shrimp! I've also included a picture including the newly-finished Queen Asabelle Dragonsmiter, and a group shot of the completed Court-to-date. Thanks for looking!
  22. This is Erestor. He is a knife throwing elf in heavy armor.
  23. Had this guy sitting around for a while. Got him as part of a big bulk deal and just wasn't motivated to get to him. But now he's done and ready to view. The skin trench coat is a new twist. I usually don't have to use so much flesh on a fully armored mini.
  24. Disclaimer: I'm not trying to coordinate selling my army through this message board. I'm only trying to weigh pros and cons. I'm not playing Warhammer 40K anymore and I have well over 10K points of models. What I'm trying to figure out is if I should turn in all my GW metal minis for store credit at ReaperCon or sell it as an army? I have 150-200 metal Grey Knight minis, almost all of which are OOP. I was reading in the ReaperCon subforum thread on metal exchange and it was stated that the exchange rate was $5 store credit per ounce. Is that correct? And is there a limit to the store credit/exchange I can turn-in? I'm trying to figure out my best economic strategy.
  25. This is more of a model kit than a mini, really. But I like it a lot. The red turned out well. I went with the red instead of the usual silvery look for the grey knights. Wish I'd gotten better shots of the base. Went to a lot of trouble making those paving stones out of card stock.
