Inspired by this post by Darsc Zacal, I'm starting a new game, "What Mini Am I Anyway?" Anyone can participate. The idea seems to be to see if you can identify a miniature from its silhouette and possibly some clues. Thematic groups are not required, but can add to the fun. This is the image that spurred the idea: Clues: This is a party of PCs in a game loosely (very loosely) based on White Wolf's World of Darkness. Two figures are from Reaper; I mentioned the sources of two of the other figures on these forums last month. One figure has been modified by the removal of a weapon. Players are encouraged to identify the figures by company, name (if any) and SKU number (if any). Prizes are, um, the respect of your awesome detectoring skills and "Likes".

I wasn't sure what the GM was going to run last night, so I just grabbed everything I painted last year. Sorry for the bad phone photos. In the scenario, 5 of us return from a weekend camping trip to find the base invaded. The pink rectangles represent helicopters. We cleared the table with hand weapons and judicious use of twerking. :D

Our group played the second game of our Frostgrave Campaign today, and since three of us are Reaper Forum members, I thought I would start a thread so all the photos and after-action reports could be put in one place. For an account of our first game, please see my blog here: http://onemoregamingproject.blogspot.com/2016/02/frostgrave-campaign-kick-off-game.html You can take a look at my war band going into this game in this Show Off thread: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/67471-my-frostgrave-illusionists-warband/#entry1324951 Once again, my Illusionist, Kodak, and his trusty apprentice, Cherowyn, found themselves. entering the city near the harbor. A Chronomancer, known as The Doctor, also chose to search the harbor and Kodak's warband spent most of the game skirmishing with them. The Doctor brought along three Crossbowmen and a Marksman, which played havoc with my Illusionist's warband, not to mention the Illusionist himself. Just like last time, it was not a good day for Kodak's party as they quickly found themselves pinned down by the massive firepower being brought against them from The Doctor's team. It only got worse when some men from a nearby Druid's (Witch) warband started firing on them as well. The final straw was when wandering creature rolls put a Minor Demon, and an Ice Spider directly in our rear. In the end it was only the quick action of Cherowyn, who was able to fend off both wandering creatures long enough to cast a successful Mind Control spell on the Doctor's Infantryman who was carrying a treasure, that netted us our only treasure of the game. Several members of the party were incapacitated during he game, the worst being our new Treasure Hunter, Jaquailwyn (Jack), who had just joined our warband after the last game. She was shot by The Doctor's apprentice, River Song, who used her laser pistol (Elemental Bolt spell) killing the unfortunate Treasure Hunter dead. The other bad casualty was Kodak himself, taken out by one of The Doctor's crossbowmen. Though Kodak recovered himself without any permanent injury, it was such a Close Call that he apparently became disoriented and left his new Staff of Power behind in the ruins. Luckily he had had the chance to use the staff once to boost a near successful Mind Control spell of his own. I had a blast, and am looking forward to the next get-together.

This Kickstarter is to get the rules and other non-miniature components of Broken Contract into physical print form, with new miniatures as stretch goals. I backed the 1st Kickstarter for the miniatures and they are excellent sculpts and casts, they are also in the add-on section as well as the 2 player starter set pledge, which also contains the 5 KSE minis from the 1st Kickstarter. So, recently, I enjoyed visiting twitter (something I never really do and am honestly uncertain if "visiting" is even the right word to employ...showing my age, I know...) and looking at the pictures from the Cute Animal Tweet Off. It made my day! A bight a cheery bit of internet amid the dark an depressing wintery mix around it. I feel inspired to start our own miniature version of this! Let's have a game! Post pictures of cute miniatures we find all around the internet. They can be your own work, so someone else's, just make sure to credit the source! And have fun!!! Bring joy to others through the power of CUTE! Here's one I've always loved: Ali Bailey's version of the Easter Mousling. Soooooo cute!!!!

It's been procrastinated for way too long. These are the robot miniatures from my Robo Rally board game. Finally gotten a semi decent paint job. Poor Twitch has been lost under a couch somewhere, and has been replaced by a 3d printed version of Borderlands' Claptrap. He'll get a greenstuffed arrow-like base to match the others when I eventually get to it. But at least they have some colour! :)

The grand folks at Firaxis games produced a winner for me. They updated the classic XCOM game and produced XCOM 2. I thought it stayed true to the feel of the original game while adding great looks and good game play. The plot is Aliens have invaded Earth and are trying to take over. You have to stop them and save the human race. In the second release you failed and your team are now a rag tag bunch of terrorists trying to bring down the one world government. One of the nice things they did was to throw the game open to modding. If you purchased the game on steam you can also subscribe to the XCOM to developer package free of charge. They make the tools and ALL the assets from the game available. I wanted to see if I could extract game assets and print some mementos for my self. I found out you definitely can extract the assets. The only issue with printing them is they're optimized for visual presentation and not for 3d printing. I started with something simple and edited it for FDM printing. I present the Alien overlord statue! (You show your love for your overlords by blowing it up in the introductory trailing mission) FDM has issues with "overhangs". You can't draw molten plastic with nothing under it. Gravity pulls the molten plastic and it doesn't just hang in mid air. Darn gravity! I split the statue in half so there are minimal overhangs. The arms are built up vertically from the bottom to the top: Each mirrored half was printed: Then a test fitting: Slapped on some one part bondo (for fixing scratches on cars): a bunch of sanding: Then some spray painted gold paint: A 3d printed base: And it's done! I'm happy with the result. The surface texture is still not wonderful. I'm still experimenting with methods to improve that. It's supposed to look like this: Have a great weekend, See you at ReaperCon! Jay

Yesterday I hade some spare time. So I started my gamer laptop, and tought, hey it's been a while. I purchased Baldurs Gate II enhanced Edition last summer, barely checked it. Let's start a game. Now I shouldn't have done that. Yesterday vanished in a blurr of goblins, ending in a scrap with Yuan Ti and Trolls. Ohh where does the time go? Beware of games like this. They will eat your time.

Greetings, Just so everybody knows, I'll be running themed RC 2015 rpg events as I have the past many years. I'm sticking with the three-hour block formats running each adventure twice over the course of the con. Four factions compete for control over the Axis, a massive space station 20+ kilometers in diameter. Old Terra is a distant memory, the Axis has been home to the remnants of Humanity after their colony ship suffered a mishap and was cast adrift. Since then additional drift-fleets from every corner of the galaxy have come to the station, docked, and added to the chaos. While the final details are still coming together I can reveal the factions: Confed: This is the democratically elected government promoting equality among the races but struggles to keep the peace with the assistance of the IMEF: Interstellar Marine Expeditionary Force. Their enemy is the Tribunal. (Good) Tribunal: A shadowy organization seeking to manipulate and gather power at any cost. They use any means at their disposal but prefer assassination, extortion, and mayhem. To them the ends justify the means. (Bad). Mutants: Science run amok! The mutants are the result of accidental and deliberate genomic modification due to radiological and xenobiological contamination. Think John Carpenter's The Thing with the infected struggling to maintain their hold onto what remains of their humanity. In exchange for their warped physiques they possess a staggering array of physical and mental abilites. (Neutral) Freelancers: Not so much a faction but rather a loose brotherhood of squabbling scallywags, drift trash, star-mercs, and assassins looking for their next score. (Neutral) There will be numerous outside groups working with and against the four factions, for hints on what's to come scope out the Fig-Finder searching 'Sci Fi' and see what turns up. If your a fan of Babylon 5, Deep Space 9, Star Wars, Star Trek, and/or Firefly you'll find a lot to love in this years offerings. In the weeks ahead I'll continue to drop tidbits, rumors, maps and maybe a fully statted character or threat to keep ya interested and guessin'. As usual my games will be available for pre-reg, I'm still finalizing the event descriptions so stay tuned. Seating will be limited to 6 but I reserve the right to seat another player or two. Four factions means four different faction-themed events. The fifth event will be an all-faction mashup and it seats 8. Pregenerated characters will be provided along with all materials. In addition to the very brief blurb above, an announcement: After careful consideration I've decided to use the West End Games D6 Space, Fantasy, and Adventure rpgs for my events this year. Yes, Fantasy and there will be characters who can access the mind-bending flesh-rending powers of the Source. In previous years I've used Pathfinder, Savage Worlds, and even Ubiquity to great success. Those of you interested can find ALL of the WEG D6 material at DriveThruRPG and RPGNow sites for FREE. Yes, free. Eric Gibson has generously provided .pdfs of the rulebooks and supplemental books to the D6 community at no cost. The Open D6 license has allowed a variety of publishers to run with the ball and generate their own great content and I encourage ya'll to explore what the D6 community has to offer. In the meantime keep your Chimeran Spikeplasm Pistol handy, there are sinister things skulking the Axis corridors and people disappear every day. A final word of advice: never dicker with a Bathalian. The loss of your mind is the least of your worries... Stay tuned! >>ReaperWolf

For those familiar with Heroquest this should be pretty easy to read, for those who aren't, it may be a bit hard, but just give it a try. I'll include enough information to play without Heroquest assuming it gets somewhere. Heroes Heroes will be essentially the same 4 basic classes that Heroquest initially had. There will be a Warrior, Rogue, Adept, and Wizard. There is no leveling in a normal sense, instead characters can spend X gold to buy new abilities. Abilities are located on a simple chart and you roll to see what you get. I know some won't like random, but some abilities are just better than others and I find its fun. You'll also have a selection of equipment that you can buy as one would expect, this will be expanded from Heroquests list. Monsters The enemies are set up nearly identically to Heroquests, though I am giving them all a level as well as everything gets a special ability of some sort, the level is to help design encounter charts. Here is a look at the cards I had designed. I might be able to arrange for these to have a POD source. Rather then designing a bunch of quests and such, I'll leave that up to the GM, there are some many places to buy dungeon tiles and such, I'd rather not restrict it. And that would be a ton more work for me. I will help with some encounter charts though, so that if the players walk into a room, you can just roll and see what is in there. Using the leveled monsters it should be pretty easy to generate a generic one. Quests I'm not going to design tons of quests and such, though it would be pretty easy to make a room designation system, where a person can design a quest, and have Room A, 4 kobolds and 2 Dire Rats, and then when the GM builds his map, he can assign letters to the rooms he has to work with. Towns One of the ideas would be that players have a variety of towns they can access, each town will have different equipment and stuff to buy, different magic to learn, and different abilities to learn. Either the GM can control this or you could roll to see where you wind up between quests. Well hopefully you can see what I am thinking, here is a a link to my Google Drive folder that has a large quantity of this information in more detail. https://drive.google.com/#folders/0B_dGQQhS2y0vMmowZHFUN3F5dU0 If anyone wants to help with the monster statting in particular, that one is gonna be a killer to do, I'd just ask that you are familiar with Heroquest and on board with how I am laying things out. Adding all the figures from Bones will be insanely difficult to do for one person. I am also fine with adding other figures from Reapers line-up, but that is far from priority. Later, Glenn

The title says all. Just wondering if anyone had anything interesting. I would post one of my own story ideas, but then I'll find out years later that it was plagarized and is being turned into a movie. It's happened to me before, I'm not being paranoid.

I'm looking for a Sci-Fi game to get into, but want to avoid GW for the time being. Cost is not a factor, as I value game mechanics and sculpt quality far more. But the single biggest criterion is that the theme shouldn't be mixed (e.g. sci-fi cowboys) - I'm looking for something more traditional. Does anyone know of a game that fits these criteria?

Hi everyone, a brief post just to suggest a little, neat ruleset to play with all the Bones minis you've got from the KS. Battlesworn is written by Andrea Sfiligoi, author of Song of Blades and Heroes. Like SBH, it is a generic fantasy ruleset you can play with any miniature you have, its main mechanic is based on secret bidding. Also, it fits perfectly with Reaper Bones (someone else already found it). You can get it for a small price at Ganesha website: http://www.ganeshagames.net/ I'm not associated in any way to Andrea or Ganesha, just love his games =)

There is a game shop in Winfield, KS that is struggling. It brings in just enough profit to pay bills, and keep merchandise of the shelves. The only thing the shop sells right now, besides a few board games and comics, is Magic: The Gathering cards. Technically, they also sell Warhammer goodies. The people who volunteer to run the shop know that I'm Facebook friends with a few people who work at Reaper Miniatures, and asked me to talk to you guys about getting some Reaper merchandise at the store. Specifically, Warlord and CAV stuff. However, I have no idea who I should talk to about that. It's the only game shop in the entire county, and I'd hate to see it go by the wayside. Any help?

Fellow hobbyists, tabletop gamers, and rpg fans, Firstly I'd like to introduce myself as I am new to the forums. My name is Paul and i like painting and building miniatures and terrain along with designing game systems. If anyone is on the miniwargaming forums, board of the living lead, dakka dakka, or rpg net i go by the same name [oddeye]. This may be a unusual post in the WIP section as most people are posting up only painted miniatures, I am posting up a work in progress of a entire game that I have been creating in my free time over the last 8 months (100% free to download, i do ask for any feedback that you may have though so i can improve on the rules, link is provided below). As the title states my game is based around surviving hordes of zombies with many different armies available with a fantasy and modern version, some armies available to play are: us army, ww2 wehrmact, survivors, knights, hordes of undead, zombies, pirates, dragons, and samurai just to name a few. There are many pictures of fully painted miniatures, custom terrain and artwork along with some youtube videos already available for your viewing pleasure. I am also working on a full role playing pen and paper version as well based off the table top war game versions. You can download the rules here for free and there is also a link to scribed.com to view the rules online if you don't want to download. There are also many posts with pictures and miniature links in the other sections of the community page. https://plus.google.com/communities/108863897726135327206/stream/96e11d1b-6e44-4604-9860-5929bcc4f8ac Youtube channel with videos https://www.youtube.com/user/Scheitelpunkt If you are interesting in joining the google community or subbing to the youtube channel feel free to do so, I really am looking for good feedback, comments, and ideas to help improve the game system and rule book. I appreciate all feedback good or bad! Thanks and happy gaming!

Again...forgive me if this question is posted on the wrong forum. I have read (The Gathering) & (The Playing) forums. I am completely baffled as to how you are able to play an (RPG/D&D) adventure game on this computer system. I understand that the (GM) can write the scene/text and the players can write their individual action/acts texts...but how are dice rolls done & confirmed...or any vast number of other situation actions/acts that require (GM) visual confirmation to decide the next action/act that transpires. As a (GM), I am completely baffled & in the dark as to how you can play...Can anyone give me a quick & simple answer!

Hi, Years ago I had some of the DOOM miniatures. The classic PC game really changed my life and I still play it today online with people. I used to own the Baron of Hell, Lost Soul, Doom Marine, Cyberdemon, and a couple of others. Most of them are now lost or were sold. :( I am looking to build a complete set of them now. They can be painted, primed, or just plain as I intend to have the entire set painted. If you have any that you are interested in selling, please contact me. email is [email protected] Thanks again! I know they hard to find so am hoping someone here has some they would like to sell. Please let me know if this is the right area of the forum.
