I remember when, during a dungeon crawling AD&D session a lifetime ago, we entered a part of the dungeon where the corridors were spotlessly clean but for a sign saying "Meet the Cleaner" or something to that effect. And a transparent, quivering wall moving towards us at speed... It ended badly for our party even though the Gelatinous Cube was defeated in the end, it's acidic jelly eating away at all our armour and favorite equipment, leaving our party drastically reduced both in capabilities and hit points going foward. And at last a proper miniature of such a Cube! Made in clear translucent Bones. I 3D printed a custom base for it, 8 cms in diameter. The middle piece is a part of the Cube and consists of a bottom "plug" and leftovers from some of the Cube's earlier meals. I tried for an oilslick rainbow-ish effect on the cube, dribbling on an assortment of inks and quickshades and then dabbing at it with some tissue paper to prevent too much colour pooling. I just wanted a hint of colouration to stain the clear rubbery plastic. An experiment, but I am rather pleased with the results. Apart from the orange/yellow being a bit too strong. My first completed BONES 2 mini, the Gelatinous Cube! As always, C&C welcome!

I have a bit of a question about how to assemble the new gelatinous cube. what is a good glue to use for assembling the two halves of the cube? I usually use krazy glue or a generic Cyanoacrylate glue on my other bones, but I've always heard that it is a bad idea to use such on clear items because it creates a white film as it dries. So what is the recommended glue for putting it together?

So my four year insisted on going through the Bones in more depth this morning. I think he might have been more excited then anyone else I know getting bones 2. Then he came across the gelatinous cube. "It's clear. Let's open this one." After I opened it he looked at the two halves and said "It's a waterfall". Looking at them add individual pieces they do look like waterfalls and gives me an evil idea. The adventurers come across an underground waterfall and if the stop to rest have then attacked by the gelatinous cube that was hovering over the real waterfall.
