  1. My first time painting a chibi figure. Probably not the last. Painting this made me feel happy.
  2. At the Twee of Wuv A simple diorama for the Reaper Challenge League 44131 Tree of Despair with the 77546 Barbarian Mouslings
  3. Here is one of the "and Friends" from the Bones 4 Core, Sophie and Friends subset. She is now known as Bryn, Half Elf Rogue, sculpted by Gene Van Horne and is now available as SKU: 77753. I drew inspiration from Yennifer's Witcher 3 costume. The stairs is just made of cut layers of cork.
  4. This is Inn Keeper Sophie from the Bones 4 Core, Sophie and Friends subset and was sculpted by Gene Van Horne. It was #160 in the set but is now available as SKU: 77750.
  5. Hello everyone, here are pictures of 50279, Malvernis Soldier. This Chronoscope model was sculpted by Gene Van Horne.
  6. From left to right; 50279 Malvernis Soldier, 50278 Rach Soldier and 50287, Cain the Cyber-Troll.
  7. Happy Halloween everyone, here are picture of a model I completed last night. 14285, Taletia the overlords Mage was sculpted by Gene Van Horne for the Warlord line. She's a tiefling enchantress NPC in the D&D campaign I'm running.
  8. The third set of humanoids from the Lost Valley Expansion of the Bones 4 kickstarter is the Orcs of the Jade Fire tribe: Featuring an all-female cast of hard bodied primitives, with abs to break rocks on and buns of bronze. The barbaric splendor of these women rival that of the bodybuilder cast of any 80's Sword and Sorcery movie. Apart from the fact that said 80's movies usually feature male bodybuilders with any females being more of the centrefold variety both in body type and costume budget. The burning question would be: what do the male members of the Jade Fire Tribe look
  9. I have one player who always loves to play martial artists, so I have been trying to paint up the punchers and kickers in my collection for when we can play in person again, so he can have something to choose from. I named one of my cats after him, sadly my Bruce died too soon too. My Bruce with his brother Jet, when they were still little:
  10. My son's girlfriend stayed with us a week in the middle of May and I ran a Savage World WW2 horror one-shot. These two american soldiers here was choices for one of the pre-generated characters I had ready, but he was not picked by any of the 3 players (my husband, my son and girlfriend). American Sniper, Reaper SKU 37008, also available in the multi-pack of American Soldiers SKU 50075. Pvt Tim Hernandez, Reaper SKU 37016
  11. My son's girlfriend stayed with us a week in the middle of May and I ran a Savage World WW2 horror one-shot for my husband, my son and the girlfriend. The nurse and doctor where the identical male and female versions of the same was one of the pre-generated character I had ready, and my son's girlfriend played the nurse. Probably the most challenging character to play, since the character was a pacifist. She did awesome though, came up with alternate ways to help in combat. Here is a photo of the 3 characters together, my son played the War Correspondent, represented by previous
  12. *blows a thick layer of dust off of her tiny corner of the WIP section* *sneezes violently* Wow, it's been...way too long since I last posted a project here! So, this is an idea I've had bouncing around in my head since Argent was announced, and I've finally gotten around to putting it into action. This is just for fun, and unless it turns out unexpectedly amazing, I don't plan to enter him at ReaperCon, which makes him just right for easing me back into regular painting! My original idea was this: I discovered a paint pen that holds the EPITOME
  13. Reaper 02954 Crystal Golem painted up to be an "Emerald Guardian" for a 5e D&D game. I used the airbrush to paint the greens, then used pure white to do all the edge highlights. I think it would look better if I slowed down and made the edge highlights thinner. It also doesn't really follow the rules for painting transparent materials like gems. However, it was a speed painted experiment... so it came out a bit messy. It looks good on the tabletop though. Total time on this figure was about two hours. Most of that time was spend prepping the figure by smoothing out the faces of the
  14. The second of the superdeformed Chibi hero minis from the Bones 4 core set that I have painted, here comes Arnise the Elf Barbarian. Kissed by fire. I have no idea if she actually is meant to be a barbarian or not. Getting that much skin smooth is not an easy task, especially not by drybrushing. ...oh damn I forgot the freckles! Same height, different scale. B4Core#118 Arnise from the Small World Heroes subset in the Bones 4 Core set, 2019 Reaper Miniatures Sculpted by Gene Van Horne (I think!)
  15. A bit of a departure for me today. Chibi, a style formerly known as Superdeformed before Anime became popular in the western hemisphere. I am not particularily fond of Chibi; that superdeformed cutesy manga look that has insidiously permeated the pop culture of today. Sigh. What is the world coming to? Now they also have infiltrated my beloved Bones... During the Bones 4 kickstarter campaign, they offered chibi versions of some of their existing minis as free additions to the core set as social stretch goals, adding them one by one as their target numbers fo
  16. For use in a D&D 5E game I'm playing in, this is my lizardfolk ranger, Suresh. I really love Gene's lizardfolk sculpts, and I like that they're in Bones, because that makes them cheap enough to be plentiful and very easy to customize. Obviously modified from the original "spearman:" removed spear, repositioned arms, added axe and shield, added lizard crest. The shield and mud were both made with Happy Seppuku (R.I.P.) stamps; the plants, crest and shield straps were handmade from greenstuff; the axe is from a Kingdom Death: Monster phoenix weapon sprue.
  17. Finishing up some minis, including a small coterie of spider centaurs and their demon mistress. These are two of Gene Van Horne's "Arachnid Archers". I had a lot of fun painting them. 18. Hi everyone, it's an Orcish Weekend. Here is 14270, Dantral the half-Orc, Reven Captain sculpted by Gene Van Horne. This model is from the Warlord line and part of the Reven faction. I painted it with Reaper's MSP acrylic paint and ink.
  19. Good day everyone, I painted these almost a year ago and completed there base last week. The base are 40mm diameter, the FG173 Field Grass Light Green and C1211 Realistic Water are from Woodland Scenics. From left to right; 77154 Lizardman Spearman, 77426 Lizardman with Club and Shield, 77155 Lizardman Warrior and 77425 Lizardman Archer all sculpted by Gene Van Horne.
  20. Well, the story's seven or eight years in the making, but we finally got married. Now we just need to get Gene Van Horne to sculpt a bride and groom mouseling. Or a zombie bride and groom mouseling. Or a bride and groom mouseling with chainsaws... http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/44574-zombie-mouselings-a-love-story/&tab=comments#comment-616402
  21. One of my goals this year is to work through my pile of unpainted Bones from all the kickstarters. First up, a mini that was used as a test piece and then put back to gather dust for a few years. It was painted fairly quickly using glaze technique, which helped keep me from fussing over the details. One mini off the shelf of shame (or rather, out of the plastic box of shame).
  22. From the thick bushes on either side of the road, a volley of javelins flies towards you. You try to take cover while a second volley is hurled. Heavy rain makes it uneasy to see anything. The bushes rustle, and your assailants appear next to you. It's a group of four reptilian humanoids about six feet tall. Their roughened leathery scales shift from grayish brown to green. A disgusting smell sickens you as the chameleon-like creatures attack you with their primitive weapons, their teeth and claws. Here are the Lizardmen, Dark Heaven Bones sculpted by Gene Van Horne. From left to rig
  23. Been spending a lot of time fighting brain weasels lately, and mostly losing, but the ever-wonderful @malefactus gave me the ammunition needed to give myself a break today. So it seemed fitting to start something brightly coloured and a little ludicrous. I bring you the mostly base coated Mrs Bones! The goal is to make the whole thing as blindingly vibrant as I can. Still going to do highlighting and shading and such to bring out more character, but this should give you an idea of what I'm aiming for.
  24. 60005: Arael, Half Elf Cleric sculpted by Gene Van Horne
  25. So, here is the second Reaper Bones that I have painted to completion. The only other one was a Chibi Mummy which I thought was a fun figure. So I'm not going to lie, I'm not super fond of the Bones material, I much prefer metal, but Gene Van Horne did such a beautiful job on this sculpt, I really wanted to paint it. Also, as has been mentioned so many times with Bones, with a larger figure, the detail seems to come out a lot better than with small pieces. With this figure, there was so much detail in her armor, with the metal, and strings and such, afraid I probably didn't hit it all, but d
