Cthulhu Wars Yellow Sign Cultists -- Completed
ThirstyBob posted a topic in Works in Progress: Painting
Started Cthulhu Wars for a friend today and I think I need some help with the Yellow Sign cultists. I'm starting with the robes and I feel like something went wrong somewhere along the line, not sure exactly how to fix it. Base coated black, then drybrushed ochre through yellow, then went back through glazing ochre through yellow. Maybe a dark brown wash will help. Could use some help. -
Some time ago I came across this lovely little gem for sale second hand on a forum. I just had to have it. Y'Golonac the Great Old one, The Defiler, The Lord of Depravity and Perversion... Originally from one of Ramsay Campbells short stories, this is one of the few great old ones that can/bothers to communicate with humans, taking a humanoid form like headless fat man with mouths in his hands who likes to snack on whomever summons him. For my part, I am thinking this mini will do nicely as a bear in Frostgrave. Or a greater demon. Somehow, I think it will see more use as a bear. It will be a pretty intimidating model to face anyhow. Easier to draw a line of sight to though on account of it's size. Great Old One: Y'Golonac the Defiler Avolak Castings Metal 50mm base

Today, I had fun getting through my Bones 2 minis bonanza and decided to tackle Mashaaf the Great Old One. I didn't have any particuliar scheme in mind except that I wanted it to be gross and slimy (my wife shrieks when seeing it so I guess it worked...) I also used this as an opportunity to try using my airbrush for something else than just base coating my minis. I just love the sheer size and weight of this 'miniature' (not sure if the term is still accurate for it) Introducing Mashaaf, the Friendly Grub. Mashaaf started as a regular lawn grub who, due to warpstone consumption, grew much larger than the other ones. Because of his size it was always hard for him to find friends to play with. So he roamed his cave always smiling his big toothy maw, hoping someone would play Hide and seek with him. The daring Sir Forscale, out and about on one of his quests, found the giant grub and friendship ensued. Until snack time...
